Re: Taming the Cinderweb Broodling (Green Fire Spider)?
The tamable Cinderweb Broodlings are up on Shadow Council this morning (Sunday, 24 July 2011).
I've been watching for them throughout the week, choosing to do the Forlorn Spire quests each day. The day-to-day pattern -this week- went: Clutchkeepers, Clutchkeepers, Nothing, Clutchkeepers, Clutchkeepers, Broodlings.
If a couple of us can keep this sort of daily log of them, we can narrow down the the spawning chances for each. Thus far it looks rather like each day, there is *roughly* a 2/3 chance for the Clutchkeepers, 1/6 chance for the Broodlings, and 1/6 chance for nothing at all. Although this isn't much of a sample, so these numbers could be off by quite a bit.
Edit: I popped into the Molten Front multiple times during the day and verified that the tamable Broodlings were around for pretty much the entire day (~07:00 to ~21:00 observed). This seemed to answer one question that I had as to whether (or not) the days that I had seen nothing (neither Clutchkeepers nor Broodlings) had previously had one or the other earlier in the day and I had just missed them. The anecdotal evidence seems to indicate that these are "all day" events.

Re: Taming the Cinderweb Broodling (Green Fire Spider)?
They were up pretty much all day two days ago on Garona. Every time I looked over there they were up.
Anyways, a funny aside on these guys if nobody has yet noticed.
IF you clear your NPC cache then log in and summon these guys, they first come out in their mini form before growing up really quickly. Had me cackling like a loon last night when I saw this.

Re: Taming the Cinderweb Broodling (Green Fire Spider)?
Continued monitoring (whilst doing dailies) on the Shadow Council server:
Tue (7/19): Clutchkeepers
Wed (7/20): Clutchkeepers
Thu (7/21): -nothing (no green spiders)-
Fri (7/22): Clutchkeepers
Sat (7/23): Clutchkeepers
Sun (7/24): Tamable Broodlings
Mon (7/25): Clutchkeepers
Tue (7/26): Clutchkeepers
Wed (7/27): Tamable Broodlings
Thu (7/28): Tamable Broodlings
Fri (7/29): Clutchkeepers
Sat (7/30): Tamable Broodlings
Sun (7/31): Tamable Broodlings
-- Nanluin
Edit (7/31): Of course, the instant I tame one (Sun, 7/24), they start to become as common as mud. :/ Now I'm following the spawn rate just out of curiosity.

Honestly I can believe 50% at this point - although they seemed super uncommon back when I was trying to get them, now that I have one (of course!) I am constantly tripping over them while doing my shadow warden dailies...

Re: Taming the Cinderweb Broodling (Green Fire Spider)?
So much this! ^^ I looked day after day for the little buggers while I was earning that first 150 marks, and only saw them ONCE... now? nearly every other day they're racing past, or more often, biting me as they fall over dead. Re: Taming the Cinderweb Broodling (Green Fire Spider)?
If your eagle is hitting the area with the common yellow spiders on the ground and the common red ones up on the spires, then yeah that's the right spot. When the broodlings are up they zoom around the outermost perimeter at dragster speed.
Just remember there is a glitch (or whatever you want to call it) that sometimes prevents ANY green spideroids from spawning over there. That should be the extreme exception though.

I found one this morning! They went all the way over to the other side of the wall where Deth spawns. Soo cute!

Re: Taming the Cinderweb Broodling (Green Fire Spider)?

Yep that's how it works - RNG has a sense of humor!

Re: Taming the Cinderweb Broodling (Green Fire Spider)?
Do they stay small or do they grow when tamed?
Re: Taming the Cinderweb Broodling (Green Fire Spider)?
Aww ok, would be amazing if they stayed small

Re: Taming the Cinderweb Broodling (Green Fire Spider)?
Funny thing. I failed to tame Kirix the other day so I decided to go find the little broodlings. I rarely do the Shadow Warden dailies, but as soon as I started I see a group skittering around. Decided to nab one for now to see how the green version grows on me. Are they really that rare or was I just lucky? X)
