Alliance and Horde, we CAN get along :)

Unread post by Ravenjules »

So I was camping Skarr for days! I'm sure the guild got tired of my whinning :) I had seen Skarr come up twice and failed misserably in taming. (I fell off the rocks in excitement, and died by a fireball from my future pet) After doing more research, I found out his secret, HASTE! So, being confident, I pulled an all nighter. I was determined to stay up all night until I had him. Well I camped and camped, didn't go anywhere else, extremely boring. Like watching paint dry. The sounds of the Firelands are forever with me. All of a sudden, Skarr appeared, and it wasn't a false alarm this time! I got down to the lower rocks as fast as I could, only to see that he had been tamed by an Alliance hunter. I was so sad, I don't remember seeing that hunter in the last several days since I'd been camping. I was going to give up but the next day, I tried again. Well not to long after I started my camp again, the Alliance hunter whispered my from a Horde toon that he created. He wanted to help me tame Skarr, even gave me some excellent tips on the taming procedure! It worked and early that next morning Skarr was mine. I just thought it was very cool of that hunter. I did a /cry when he tamed Skarr so I think he knew I'd been camping. But honestly that's my favorite part of the game :D

Congrats on your new kitty!

Some of the nicest players I have met have been across faction-though you also meet some of the worst across faction too. It really isn't a matter of the faction but rather the person behind the keyboard. While I camp for pets, if I see a person of the other faction I will /wave and /luck them, and go right back to camping. If they turn around and start harassing me through emotes, then fine, I leave them be. If they do the same-/wave or /luck-I'll jump over to one of my other hunters (I play both factions) and chat with them a bit about the rare I'm after, the time I saw something spawn last, anything else they might be looking for, and taming tips in case they do not know what they are doing. I've come across some people who have no clue what they are doing and take some time to explain things-correctly, as I'm not into sabotaging someone just so I have better luck. I also tend to refer them to the forums here so that they can research the techniques on their own as well, so they do not have to rely on the advice of a stranger. I've met some wonderful hunters jumping back and forth across factions way-and one is even a petopian. *Huggles that strange undead girl who knows who she is*

(And for those Hordies on Garona, my Kitsuné was realm changed, but Riz is still on that server and on the Horde side if you need to reach me).

All goes back to the Golden rule thing about treating people how you wanted to be treated, and that whole pay it forward idea as well. If you don't want someone to interfere with your tame, don't interfere in theirs. If you wish someone would come along and actually help you sometimes, you should go out of your way and help others yourself.
