I wish they had more options for that actually. I saw Alliance Goblins during the midsummer's festival and it made me wish that I could make a Gnome-Horde character.

Just think a Gnome Rogue next to Garrosh in battle duel wielding glaives taunting Wrynn. That would be Boss

they should get a boost to herbalism.
and their racial ability should be "too cuddly.. agh! I can't take it! AAKH!" which throws the Pandaren player on the ground, rolling around in a big lovable ball of black and white fur, with its four paws up in the air, rendering the enemy completely impotent in fits of helpless adoration before the awesome power of "CUTE".

A bit of palindromic wisdom:

I'm totally betting on this being a next expansion for WoW. I don't see this title being used for a TCG (why would it make such huge news AND be using codes for online games?) nor do I see it being for Warcraft (that gaming platform has literally been sitting way too long in my opinion, to suddenly get an expansion out of the blue).

And as other people stated before me the entire "China doesn't like us killing Pandas" thing. China has no issues with virtual panda death. In fact, there's a hugely popular MMO called "Perfect World" which features playable panda races. The real reason China did not like Pandaren was because the Pandaren were drawn in samurai armor (which is Japanese). China and Japan do not exactly have the greatest relationship, so to them it was rather insulting.

But that was the only issue regarding pandarens/pandas.

Honestly, I really believe this will be the next WoW expansion. If that "product slate" MMO-champion has is to be believed (And note I say **IS TO BE BELIEVED*** Meaning I am NOT saying its official, just used for speculation), the next Expansion is around the 2nd quarter of 2012. While that still seems a bit early to me, it would make sense for this copyright to pop up. If I'm not mistaken "Wrath of the Lich King" and "Cataclysm" were both found in identical manners in regards to patents.

I think its a great idea for a game. It doesn't necessarily mean we'll get Pandaren to play as, but for something so mysterious that we really know nothing about them or their home, I think there's several ways Blizzard can take this lore to an amazing level.

But lets be real, all you Hunters just wanna tame pandas. I know it ;) J/k
(Ok I'm not really kidding, I would totally tame a panda)

If Blizzard follows the pattern they have stated (which was stated while everyone was speculating on what would come after Wrath, so a while ago), then we should see a Hero class next Expac, rather than a race. Maybe we'll get to play Brewmasters? That'd be fun.

Or Demon-hunters :-P

Out of all the people to have a comeback, I hope Illdian is the one. He's my favorite "bad guy" by far.

Seriously though, someone could do a whole plot in his viewpoint in which he's not the "betrayer" but simply misunderstood.

They did something like this with the new Felwood quests - the druids send you to kill a pesky demon hunter, but you discover from him that in fact the druids have been infiltrated by shape shifting demons, and I believe in the process he also gives you "the rest of the story" about Illidan.

If the Pandarin are introduced in-game, maybe they'll be a neutral, non-playable race, and a faction to grind rep with. I could easily see Pandaria as a daily quest hub, like the Molten Front, but with a lighter, more fun tone. That would be nice. I need a break from all the "world's going to end if we don't do X right now!" stuff. To be honest, I'm bored to tears with the Molten Front. I got Skarr and haven't been back since. Nor do I plan on bothering with it at all with any of my other toons, not even for the small pets. I play WoW when I don't want to work, and MF is just too much hassle.

Anyway, actually seeing Pandarin in-game would be awesome! No matter the circumstances.

Though, this could just be this year's April Fool's joke. :P

The issue with this line of thought is that I've read blizzard posts in numerous places ( wish I could provide links, but it's been various blue posts, blogs, etc and I don't remember where they all were) that hero classes aren't really something they're looking at doing again in the forseeable future. Apparently deathknights threw things way off balance when first introduced, or something, and just didn't really work as they'd hoped. I also remember reading that new classes in general weren't something they were considering as it's getting to the point where even the classes we HAVE are starting to homogenize quite a bit, and making a new distinct class thatis fun to play, but still balanced, and something that people will WANT in groups, but not NEED, would be a HUGE feat.

That said, this as an expansion would be awesome.. but I could have sworn I read somewhere about the burning legion returning in the next expansion... Though I guess a pandaran expansion could still involve that, as someone else pointed out, it's an almost relaxing sounding title... Unlike the others which have all been quite war-like.

If they add Pandaren, they almost certainly will make them playable - way too many players would be pissed off otherwise.

EDIT: and I don't think they'd be neutral. I can't remember where but I seem to recall a blue post saying they have no plans to depart from the two-faction system.

Pretty much yeah. Entire RP servers would become ghost towns overnight. ;)

I recall reading and hearing that several times. I think it was in one of those blue blogs that MMO-Champion follows and also on the "Behind the Scenes" dvd for Cataclysm. So I sincerely doubt we will see another Hero class, or any new classes for awhile.

But it's fun to speculate.

Though I completely disagree with the "this could be april fool's". Blizzard never had their April Fool's stuff leaked almost a year in advance. I doubt they'd start an April Fool's joke starting in August for April 2012 XD

Blizzard isn't that crazy XD

As for Qirin/Kirin, I could totally see those being mounts.

Blood Pandas ~ one with magic

If they make pandarens into a playable race, they need to give them a hero class (ive read all the posts in here, im sure blizz would make the class more balanced, they've learned from their mistake) that would be monk, ive heard a lot of requests for there to be a monk class, it'd be a leather melee class, it would be like a leather wearing warrior (imo i would like them to use strength rather then agility so they dont compete with rogues and feral druids-- to keep a balance for who needs what armor stats), but they'd be purely dps

beyond that, i have no idea for their spells and talents, i would just like to see a strength stat, leather wearing warrior lol

I can't wait to see where they go with this, whether it be a new Warcraft, a new expansion, a patch, or an entirely new game.(: (And yes, a Panda hunter would be so cool to play. Maybe with a black and white pet theme...)

Edit: Edited a little bit of my post

They wouldn't *need* to give them a Hero class at all. I would really doubt the addition of not only a new playable race AND a new class in one expansion. Plus, we're not even sure how they'd add Pandaren since I do recall Blizzz making posts that they have no plans to remove the factional differences (from the start/when you create a character).

Though... Blizzard has changed their opinions before. However, as of recently, Blizzard seems more intent on making Alliance and Horde feel very different. Such as we're no longer sharing cities (other than quest hubs for "saving the world" purposes) and... honestly the factions feel different ever since the ToC stuff.

Honestly, I hope the Alliance and Horde oriented tiers make a come back, those were awesome.

Also, for those who are interested in some of Blizzards comments regarding Hero classes should read the link below. It'll give you more insight into just how much harder it is to add a new class, let alone a Hero Class, into an "already established" set of niches a class must fill. Plus, let us not forget how long it seemed to take Blizzard to get Death Knights more in-line with the other classes (I'd argue that it took them the entirety of Wrath to do so, but your mileage may vary XD)

(You can view their whole comment on this page, note that its under the title "Making Death Knights: The Mistakes". Sorry for the lack of a better archive site, but this is the only one I found still showing the post.)

Meh, I thought that towards the end of Wrath, closer to about 3/4 of the way through, is when they had DK's the way I felt they should have been. Then they went and made blood the only Tanking spec. D:
