Wanting to rename my Hunter .. yes Hunter

When I first started WoW .. I played a Priest named Rizgar. I got tired of it and tried Warrior .. a complete opposite of priest. So I thought reverse the name to Ragzir. It fit and I liked it.

Anywho .. I tried other classes and wanted to stick with those letters .. and ended up with Rargiz.

But I do not like it anymore .. I have spent many hours finding & taming Rare Uniques and I think it would be better for me to spend the $15 on renaming my Hunter than replaying him and retaming the Unique Rares.

Most all of my toons are N'Elfs .. but I want to change this too. I want to stay Alliance .. so I am thinking Dwarf. His profs are Engineering & Mining.


I thought of maybe Rarehunter, that name does not exist on my server .. but seems kinda lame. I can't think of anything cool. I plan on staying BM spec and only keeping Unique Rare pets.

Ummm.
Now this is a hard one.
I always spend a very long time deciding on names for my characters. I always try to avoid using special letters such as -ß ø á à â ä ã å ç é è ê ë í ì ó ò ô ú ö ù û ü œ æ , Because i like to keep the names original.
I tend to base the names on real things, or names that make sense. Not like Ipwnyourass or oneshotyou . I base names on Feelings, objects, nature and types of people e.g:

Feelings: Sorrow Petulance Panic Terror Liberated Alive Serene Content Eager Rebellious Blessed Spirited Tenacious Unique Snoopy Hostile Provoke Fuming Indignant Indecisive Dominant Anguish... you get the idea
Objects/Real things/brand names: Nike Rubix Warner Staedtler. Or you can use names from movies etc.....

Its not that hard to make up a list of names. Look around your house, find names of brands, look at random objects, look outside, google types of animals. Be creative. Or just use your imagination and think up some wacky name

@Petulance, I see what you're saying. Lately on my newest toons I've done some research on names .. anime names (Japanese spelling), obscure mythological figures (Paganism, Inuit/Eskimo, Irish).

I found a nice simple name: Sedna
- Sedna (mythology), the Inuit goddess of the sea
- 90377 Sedna, a planetoid and likely a dwarf planet in the Sun's far outer Solar System discovered in 2003
- Sedna (Ireland), an Irish king

Sounds like a great name for my hunter & I want to race change him to Dwarf .. but it is unavailable!

I may have found another name: Tarqeq
- The spirit of the moon is a man, a mighty hunter who dwells in the skies.

or Amaguq
- According to Inuit mythology Amaguq is a trickster and wolf god.

maybe this .. but kinda hard to say: Tekkeitsertok
- In Inuit mythology, Tekkeitsertok is a god of hunting and the master of caribou, one of the most important hunting gods in the pantheon.

Speaking as someone who ended up with a character name that most people don't know how to pronounce (Aisling), if you have any inkling that you're going to be referred to on vent by the name, pick something that people can pronounce.

I concur with Kalliope, best to pick a simpler name, or at least one that has a obvious, simple short form people can use instead. If you pick Tekkeitsertok, everyone is going to call you Tek or Tektok! As for suggestions, here's a link to famous big game hunters that might be of interest.

You could continue to stay with those letters and have something like Gazrir (which makes me thinks of gadgets), Girarz, Irzarg, or Izarrg.
