I don't know if I count as "not interested in lore"... but I rarely go look up the events that lead up to quests or whatnot. I have maybe visited WoWiki a dozen times total?

But on the other hand, I am a ferocious quest text reader.
I immerse myself 100% into the story of what I am doing (sometimes, to my own emotional detriment).

So, that's "immediate" lore (ie: what I learn from the quest I am presently doing), but less interested in "past" lore (what events in a fictional, non-playable past, or in a previous incarnation of the game).

The ONE single time I can say that I actively sought out Warcraft lore was when I did Caverns of Time and was curious about what happened to that human woman... and boy did I regret it. I cried the rest of that day.

I am somewhat the opposite. Even though I read the quest text, I know that some quests a just fillers (like "oh we have this camp here for as long as I can remember, but you need to get us 10 bear flanks because we have a food shortage in this area..." REALLY??? What were you thinking when setting up the camp there? Contemplating the scenery?) Such filler quests break my motivation.

But I am an avid wowpedia reader. I read a couple WoW novels. I love to know what happens in the world, how the political background is changing, who are the important figures and what they have done/are doing. What happened to Turalyon? What is Night Elf or Orc culture like? What is the story behind the Broken Draenei? etc. I am interested in such questions but not the story behind the 10 pesky kobold ears I am asked to collect.

Obviously, I don't exactly get "involved" in the routine "gather X number of banal items" quests in the same manner as with story-driven quests. And there ARE a number of heavily story-driven quests, even if they aren't necessarily directly linked to the "main" story of WoW.

But I think back, for example, to a very moving quest in the N.Elf starter region, where you end up killing a giant spider. The quest line was rather involved, and had a good solid (not overly complicated) story, and a very emotional finale.
