i have aotona (http://www.wow-petopia.com/html/mobs/mob_aotona.html) in my stable but i ever use him. well today i met with 50ish tauren with olm the wise,(http://www.wow-petopia.com/html/mobs/mo ... ewise.html) and i had a flash back. I spent a while searching for this mysterious bird when i was around 50 but i never got it, it was sad becuase my bestfriend on world of warcraft ran me through an instance and she had that same bird and she was and still is my role model so her bird was so cool to me. So at 12:00pm i decided id go and check to see if he was there. After flying to the wrong flight path i get to his spawns at search around and at the last spot there he was with no one around. So i released my worm and tamed him. And now i have 2 birds. Im not the person who has 2+ spirit beasts in stabled or any 2 or more pets for that matter in the stable so i have to release a bird. Olm was the bird i always wanted but never got. But aotona is one of the rarest pets that took me a while to get.
please comment why you picked _____
2 bird with 1 stone

Tbh there's nothing special about Olm. Oh sure I tamed him on Yas back before she could tame the ones from winterspring, and used him for a bit, but I abandond him quicker than water off a ducks' back. Why? Because there's nothing special about Olm. Yes he has a quirky nature about how you have to tame/attack him- but other than that? Nothing else says anything special about him outside of getting him at a lower level than a normal winterspring owl.
Aotona is far, far more rare than Olm- or any white owl. Or any owl on my server. I've seen atleast a dozen owls or so.
Only two tamed Aotona's.
Keep Aotona.

I said Olm because he's been one of your favorites for a long time. Sometimes, even a long-camped pet just isn't worth it in the end if you don't "click" with it. If Olm is the birdy you prefer, regardless of whether it took you five minutes or five weeks to tame him, that's the one you should stick with. Olm happens to be my brother's favorite owl in the world as well, and he refuses to let him go.

Aye,
Gotta agree with Rhyela here... If it's your favorite it just doesn't matter in the end. The worst thing possible is to keep a pet that you think other people would and not yourself. When my original Hunter hit level 10 wayyy back in the stone age I made the insane trip to the Night Elf starter zone for an owl on my Horde. Oww wow was it hard to get there, took forever and I was flagged and ganked by every body that saw me, but after hours of running, hiding and dying I tamed one of those generic owls out there and ported home. Named Him Stone Breaker and he's still in my original Hunter's stable back on Zuluhed... That suckers never getting released...
It use to be wonderful leveling up with that owl back in the day...I was heart broken to find those exact owl skins in Felwood some time later on, but trust me none meant what mine did... It's all about your connection to a pet, so go with your gut. If that white owl makes you happy then by all means, run with him...

I have to agree with those two, stick with Olm. Tamed and loved him back in the day on my hunter. If we'd had five stable slots back then, he'd probably still be with me. I named him Sagacious. *Laughs*

Keep Olm. If you've wanted him this long and feel connected to him, he's your bird. Aotona my be pretty and rare, but, if she's really more of a giant fighting vanity pet to you, it's probably not worth it.
