The Story of Lazurianis and the Elusive Loque'nahak

Unread post by Lazurianis »

(Keep in mind this takes back WAY back in 09 in WOLTK)

(DISCLAIMER: This is only for fun, yes this event did occur but please if I make a mistake please do not correct me, just enjoy ;) )

As it was going from BC to WOLTK I heard some talk about Blizzard adding a new pet a "Spirit Beast" there was almost no information on it at the time so I played the waiting game. A week later I see the model and there was no words for it I thought to myself "He will be mine." In preporation for this I leveled my hunter (From level 50 to level 66 in a week) by this time, WOLTK was released. I was determined to get her.. and my journey of leveling began... about a week later from getting level 71 and taming the Black Worg I decided to level faster.. four long days later I hit level 76! I was so happy so I decided to get some rest for the night for my long camp tommorow. (June 26th 2009). I wake up and noticed I slept in, I have some lunch and sit down at my computer ready to camp like a mad man. I get on, nothing.

Hour 1: King Krush, dead.
Hour 2: Nothing.
Hour 3: Nothing
Hour 4: Aotona (Left her alone).

By the 5th hour I decided it was one hour before I decided to pack up and hit the bed. As I flew on my old 150% slow mount spamming my "/target Loque'nahak" Macro I get more and more tired. By the 6th hour I said to myself "This is useless, one more run and I am done for the night." As I lag and DC I log back on. (I am at the north most spawn heading down to the River.) I sigh to myself and my concious tells me as I fly by the river and hitting the log out button "Go to the river, now." Half asleep I think "Why am I doing this? I want sleep.." As I approach the river I hear a "ump" on my screen, I look up and it says "Loque'nahak" I freak out, losing all the blood in my face I dismount in MID AIR. I think "Oh god, I aint gonna survive." but I did! With 100 HP left I eat very quickly still in shock I lay down my ice trap (Forgetting to tag him) he freezes in place, in relief it's not over yet as I hit the Tame Beast button I notice a white figure above me it's a dwarf.. I /beg and /plead him he only waved and left. :D (I am still thankful to that dwarf to this day.) Finally it finishes... I look down to see my beutifal new Spirit Beast beside me. Then a name came to me "Moonfrost" and as my Real ID Friends and guildies congratulated me to my new pet. (I spammed guild chat: "OMG OMG OMG" etc XD). And so forth, my hunt for more rares began.

Just always remember, NEVER give up. Keep chasing that dream like I did. I became very sucessful after my Loque catch. All it takes is practice, patience, and knowledge.

Questions? Concerns? Post it in the comments

Good luck! And always remember: Happy hunting!

Grats! Much liked the story!

Kind of like how I gave up on Aotona, tamed and bonded with a NEW brightly colored parrot, only to have someone say King Krush is up in my channel. I didn't rush over, cuz I didn't give a shit about him, so I camped with my friends until Magria spawned, then decided to check to see if Aotona was up ONE LAST TIME EVER. Bear in mind, I'd been camping this bird on and off for 2 years, so I was really frustrated with her. I checked all her spawn areas, no luck. Starkittens asks for a summon. I summon her. She Eagle Eyes to one spawn area and HOLY CRAP HES UP! I swear that bird must have just spawned when I was getting ready to leave. Starkittens runs through packs of mobs and dies for me to get there, but eventually, she gets to Aotona! I follow her dot on the map and tame my gorgeous purple parrot.

I had to drop the green one, but have no fear, I will tame him again today after dropping a Madexx or another Bird of Prey.

Come on over if interested (Runetotem US, Horde name Sarantha, Ally name Ellysetta or Valeraud)

Yeah, honestly I hate dropping rare pets but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. I was questing in Uldum the other day and spotted Red Madexx, rushed over to tame him. Was pleased that now I have two Madexx's :D I'm glad you got your Aotona! I don't prefer camping pets that long but luck was with you at the time :D But I hope you get more pets you enjoy! Lets see what the next patch unfolds for us
