Re: The Rehoming Room
I've found it to be VERY random. One day Skarr spawned...3 times (yes, 3) in one day. Once was my tame, once was a kill and once was a friend. The next week following, he only spawns 1 time. Then after I "supposedly" got realm first Ankha, nothing but Magria spawned untill today, when I found Ankha padding around the regrowth.
Only blizz knows.

Re: The Rehoming Room
Tried to rehome Deth to a NE hunter (im horde so it was a shaky agreement lol)
Deth was killed though, I think by a DK that showed up right at the end. sigh, I feel for the NE hunter.

Re: The Rehoming Room
Rehomed Deth'Tilac twice this week. One to Orkana, a random orc hunter I keep running into..
and nother for one of my hunter bffs, Glowinghell.. who in return named his Deth after me /blush

Re: The Rehoming Room
In the end, this ended up not being a rehoming, but still...
Kirix was up for a while, so I kept checking back in with him. At first, people left him alone, then a couple of alliance hunters tried for him. There was a very kind blood elf hunter trying to show them how, and I told them how as well. Unfortunately, that didn't work out too well for anyone (except for Kirix, who racked up a bunch of kills), so I relogged to Kalli to show them how to do the disengage method. Everyone was gone when I got there, except for my horde buddies who already had him. x_x
Just after they left, an orc hunter turned up. He resed near the rocks on the ledge side. I cheered him as he hopped across. I could tell even before he got to the rock that this was going to be different. He respecced and healed up. And then he summoned Chromaggus. As I told Roxhunt, this guy meant business. He popped hysteria and tamed Kirix without needing to deterrence. Immediately after the tame finished, he mounted up on his mechano-hog and caught one of the air currents on the east side of the island to fly/float down to the Front below. Like. A. Boss.
Needless to say, I was deeply amused/impressed. Well done, Mr. Orc!

Re: The Rehoming Room
Rehomed Karkin today
I usually eagle eye up to Skarr/Karkin's spawn points out of habit even though I dont want them, and just before I was rock hopping for my Druids of the Talon dailies, I checked and there was a blood elf hunter having some trouble taming Karkin. I ran over there to find her dead and I switched to MM and waited for her to come back. She did a quick /shoo at me but I did a /no, /go, /point Karkin. She just did a /sigh at me. I guess she thought I was going to steal her tame or kill him. I did a quick run over of my last emotes then did a /nod at her. She began her tame, and I silenced the barrage for her, the tame went flawless
I did a /clap and she immediately did a /love. I logged over to a horde alt and explained who I was and she was VERY appreciative! Saying I was very kind and she hoped that if I ever needed help with a tame she could help me out like I helped her
She said that if I didn't log over to horde she was going to personally log over to her alliance to thank me
When I got back on my hunter we exchanged a /pat on eachothers pet and she pulled out her own Sambas to show me him. Rehoming makes me feel so good!
So Congrats to Calisi on your new Karkin!

Re: The Rehoming Room
Kirix finally got a home after an hour, explained to the hunter how to tame but still ended up dying alot. He was in the red and had no gold so I loaned him gold to repair (wonder if ill see the gold ever again
), finally after the second attempt and hysteria he tamed Kirix. later skarr spawned in 10 mins after kirix, first attempt he died and barrage hits.. far. But he got him to.
Then I noticed the Be hunter that on kirix kept using core hound, dismissing and hit tame beast...
on skitter he kept using the same strat T.T so I switched to my horde and whispered him the strat and he got him
Again though skitter was tamed at 23% energy.. which is.. odd..

Re: The Rehoming Room
Rehomed Skitterflame via my druid and rooting him, allowing the hunter to tame while ignoring the buff. I swear, druids and DKs make the challenge, NOT a challenge.
Rehomed a Cinderweb Broodling (tiny green Kirix clones) to someone wanting green but not wanting to work for Kirix. She was so happy with her new green spider. I suggested he be named Loki.

Re: The Rehoming Room
Ever since I've tamed Solix because of a glitch, I've always wanted to try again. The past few days, Solix was either tamed or killed. Solix was up again and as usual, I looked for any interested hunter... and there was none.
So I set off to tame. The first attempt failed because Solix would always catch up. The next one was perfect: two properly spaced ice traps and me who was always way ahead (and firing Concussive Shots if able). Amazingly, there was no one else around doing dailies. Solix: solo rehomed!

To keep it on track, I rehomed Gondria. Was flying around NR looking for rares and she was up. Someone in channel wanted her. She got her. The end, pretty much.

Kirix to the rescue!Jessibelle wrote:Psst...derailers, use the magic luck thread or PMs to keep this topic on track.
Awesome! /clapJessibelle wrote:I rehomed Solix moments ago to Moonriser. :3
And here's where Kirix comes in! A shaman saw me attempting to tame Kirix and decided to help. However, I told him to stop when another hunter came by so we can help him instead. I explained the Disengage approach which the hunter really practiced to learn (yes, he even Disengaged off the ledge).
While the three of us were there, others tried their luck (a hunter tried to use an Ice Trap, another tried to attack(!), and still another tried the ledge -- all to no avail). So when they left, this gave us all the time we needed to successfully tame Kirix. The hunter even named Kirix after me and the shaman!

Sorry bout that >.<
On track; Rehomed a Ashtail&Lord Condor to a friend who's hunter was in the area. Also showed him where to tame the Northrend like wolves in the human starter area.

Re: The Rehoming Room
Reverse-rehoming story (because I don't know if my Secret Santa lurks about here):
Some weeks ago after I snagged myself a Skoll I did a /who of Storm Peaks to see if there might be other rare-hunters interested in his timer info. All I turned up was one Hunter, who said he was only particularly interested in the TLPD, but we chatted a little bit. Parted on cordial-friendly terms, I went to bed. Since then, perhaps once a week I've gotten a whisper from him, indicating a rarespawn is up (and sometimes offers to get ported to it, if he can spare the group invite) in case I'm interested. It's always been one I don't particularly want, or already have, so I've always had to decline and thank him for thinking of me-- until tonight! I'd been poking at some Northrend instances with my friends, and was in the process of flying over to Icecrown Citadel when he whispered me offering Deth'tilac.
One long but safe/easy softening up later, I now have a purple skittle months earlier than I'd ever dreamed of maybe possibly getting one. So thank you, THANK you kind person! For alerting me when you had no particular reason to, for helping me review/figure out the tame strat, for standing by me for 25 looooong minutes as we bulldozed its HP because apparently my skittle was so eager to be mine that it refused to so much as look away from me long enough to murder the hunter pet, feral druid, and/or ret paladin sitting on its butt. You went far beyond simple kindness, and it made my day infinitely more awesome. A salute to you, sir!
(And then, just for fun, he popped downstairs and helped his guildmate catch Solix.
What a guy!)

Re: The Rehoming Room
Began the morning rehoming Solix *and* Deth’tilac to a guildie! Her night ended very badly because a group of griefers killed her chance to tame Karkin and Deth’tilac last night.
