Echo's TLPD Journal..DONE..new mount journal..^

11:27pm nothing...the only exciting thing that happened is someone whispered me to say Skoll was up..(I love that electrical wolf) I hadn't seen him in his wild form in so long..not since I tamed him back in November of last year so I went over to take a peek and a screen shot..

Then I watched him path around for a bit while trying to find him a home..so I did a /who ..and found a level 84 hunter..and her if she wanted poor Skoll, at first she told me no..so I continued searching..then about 2 mins later she asked me if he was still up..and I said yeah I'm babysitting him..so she said "I'm coming"..We grouped ...she came..she tamed!..I was happy ...here are some screenies.

Now I know technically I'm supposed to kill poor Skoll..to get other rares to spawn ..but I couldn't do it..I rather rehome him instead..and hope Karma comes back to me..

TLPD isn't connected to Skoll, but Vyra. So you don't actually have to kill Skoll to have TLPD to spawn ^^
Also, not sure about the "Only X amount of rares can be up in Northrend at once" is right. I honestly think Any amount can be up, speaking I found:
Icehorn (killed by me)
Loque (Found dead, prob killed by griefer or someone for achive)
King Krush (tamed)
and Dikree (found dead)
In about 30-40 minutes of each other. But then again, that COULD have been by coincidence.

for the amount of time and energy Ponderance at tlpdresource put into checking that X # of rares up theory, I would be inclined to believe him. He states anywhere from 3-5.

Ironically to this statement, when I was camping for TLPD myself at Bors Breath Skoll spawned. After 10 minutes of looking for a home for him, I decided to "put him down for a nap". 30 minutes later I got the TLPD kill.

It could have easily been a coincidence, but only Blizzard knows if this is true. If tlpdresource's theory is correct, and 3-5 could be up, Skoll could have triggered TLPD to spawn after Vyra went down, if not, it was a mere coincidence.

I think it was just a coincidence myself, but you never know....

Perhaps maybe when a rare gets killed it sets a timer of 15-45 minutes in which the next rare will spawn.

Possibly. But what if say, King Krush or Aotona were tamed? Would it have the same effect, though? I think it would, but once again, ONLY Blizz knows.

Well the only thing that has happened today was Vyra spawned on my head this morning.. for the 5th time..

And I know Skoll and Dirkee have nothing to do with making the TLPD spawn, I just thought you were supposed to kill Northrend rares to make other rares spawn a little faster..thus making Vyra or Mr TLPD pop up in lets say 12-13 hours instead of 24 hours...now I could be totally off but I thought that is what I read.

And Royi I just noticed we are on the same server..Llane..and we are both Horde.

Actually, it has changed since Cataclysm. I believe Vyra/TLPD is now 3-6 hours? I could be wrong, though. But I still hate this damned Mechanic....it's evil..

lol oh I don't know anymore either I go back after 6 once I kill Vyra..I need sleep ..and I have to work...If TLPD spawns within 3 hours and I miss him well that dragon wasn't meant for me...and he will spawn again..

ooOooo Horde aye? I'm mostly on my lvl 70 twink these days. I'm actually planning on camping for TLPD on her once I gear up a good +hit set


But yeah, if you see a rare up, I would make sure to kill it (or have someone tame it). You have nothing to lose and there is the theory that killing a rare can make another rare spawn quicker. I've heard of shortened timers since Cata, but I think to be safe I always had in mind 6-18 hours

One thing that people told me when I was camping for the first time that I agree with is: If you're killing Vyra alot, you're doing it right. Just RNG has to turn its favor to you

That's true. I personally think at LEAST half of the rares in Northrend could possibly be up at once, but that IS just my theory. Everyone has their own theory on TLPD camping, though.
Killing Vyras=TLPD might spawn.
Killing Other (or taming)=Possible quicker spawn.

I myself think it MIGHT have a quicker spawn, but it is a x% chance that it could spawn quicker, in addition to above.

Still camping!!.....saw Vyra again this afternoon but I was away from my computer so someone else killed her..least I have a timer... Come on TLPD don't be shy, I will give you a great home..I promise

Ok Well I must have missed something today because so far as of 10:33pm I haven't seen Vyra or TLPD...the last time I saw Miss Vyra was 11:08pm last night!..oh well I guess I will have days like this..*sigh*..I was hoping that maybe just maybe I would get lucky and TLPD would spawn for me this weekend..but I guess not. And my chances are going to get lower this week because of work..hmmm..I won't give up though even if it takes a month that darn drake will be mine!..

Well semi bad news for anyone who is following my hunt..The TLPD did spawn last night ...Buuuuuut I wasn't online, so some someone else got him if only I had logged in 20 minutes sooner I would have had a chance at least depending where he popped..ahhh..I was disappointed.

But today is a new day right?!..so my hunt will continue!
