Re: UI Wanted!
Thanks Jess. I think I've got it behaving properly at this point, it's now just a matter getting used to the different lefthand bar arrangement.

Re: UI Wanted!
Yeah. I had to adjust at first. Now I can't live without it. XD

Re: UI Wanted!
I did some more test driving of Spartan UI as well as LUI v3, and both were very cool, but probably a little too sophisticated for me, to be honest. So I decided to do something like you did...Vephriel wrote:Have you tried HunterFocusBar? It's a really simple addon that puts a movable Energy Bar on your screen. I bet there's something out there that does the same with a health bar.
I use Dominoes and just moved everything to my liking. Here's my UI:

For bar arrangement I went back to Bartender4, and for HP / mana monitoring I used HealthBarPlus* - it works for any class, lets you create frames for yourself, target, focus etc, can show HP, energy/mana/etc, buffs/debuffs+, and can be resized so you can make it fit neatly with your other frames.
Seems to be working pretty well so far (the target frame disappears when you have no target).
*Other meter addons I tried were EnergyWatch (displays a personal energy bar, but doesn't show HP), and AnyMeter (which can show personal bars for HP, energy or just about anything else, but the player title sits on top and it's not resizable, making it an awkward fit with my other bars).

Re: UI Wanted!
Additional note: for some reason HealthBarPlus' author forgot to include pets as an option when adding frames (what?? someone out there isn't obsessed with playing hunters?? Heresy!!
), I went ahead and tweaked the addon to allow them, and it seems to work fine.
I've attached a copy in case anyone wants to try it out.

Re: UI Wanted!
i remember spending an entire weekend customising my UI once, it looked very good and was very useful when it was done... however 4.0 broke it beyond repair
This is how it looked:

If you want the spartanui feel then use 'KG panels' to do the artbars (made the ones in the image above myself) then use 'bartender 4' to arrange things. Then use oUF to move your unit frames around and put them where you want.

Re: UI Wanted!
Worba, I juggle between three UIs:
1. ShestakUI - lots of features; uses pixel fonts -- usually my default
2. RealUI - HUD-like interface
3. ElvUI - based on Tukui
All three fall under your criteria:
1) That is customizable
2) Displays your health / energy bars down on the bottom of the screen
3) That is easy to set up, e.g. it's just one folder that you throw in your addons folder with the rest

Remember, this is no sprint. The true test of a hunter tests his endurance over the course of a long expedition.

Re: UI Wanted!
That is SWEET. I looked into kgpanels but gave up - don't you have to pull in textures and stuff from elsewhere? I may give that one another try though.Northy179 wrote:i remember spending an entire weekend customising my UI once, it looked very good and was very useful when it was done... however 4.0 broke it beyond repair

I like the look of Shestak and ElvUI, I may check them out, thanks.Anj wrote:Worba, I juggle between three UIs:

RealUI is fine but I find HUDs too advanced for my style - being a clicker* I need my status bars near my buttons!
*Unless you count healing and fishing - I do keybind for those!

Re: UI Wanted!
This ALMOST makes me want to mod my UI <.< Then you have your comment about it breaking beyond repair.. and remember why I don't use mods... hehNorthy179 wrote:i remember spending an entire weekend customising my UI once, it looked very good and was very useful when it was done... however 4.0 broke it beyond repair

Re: UI Wanted!
Yeah, that's a concern of mine - this is why I like to use an assortment of things that are small and standalone (rather than the ginormous everything-you-could-ever-possibly-want-RIGHT-HERE mods), so if something breaks it doesn't bring everything down with it.
