I agree with Kalli here. People on this forum rarely act in an 'elitist' manner (though I dislike the way the term is thrown about these days, it starts to sound so puerile). Petopians just love their pets and if there's a barrier to them getting something, well they just want it even more ;) Whether they should be able to get it in their preferred spec is another matter.

Well, considering the vehement disagreement, from both sides of the fence, including BMers who don't understand what I'm trying to do, I'll shutup now, and quietly keep deleting my SBs. I think a good goal is no more than 4 of any one family, at most.

Another thing they could do is just start cutting down on the number of spirit bests from here on and start releasing more unique skins and models for those of us who don't want to play the worst of the three specs. I'd like to go MM/Surv but if I do then more than half my stable is unusable.

Actually, IMO they should make Spirit Beasts the only exotic family and open up the others to all hunters. I don't see how a rhino or a worm is any more exotic than a raptor or a lion.

BM is actually faring better than SV right now. ;) Please don't call us the worst spec when we're really not. :)

Do these sims take into account boss movement? That's BM's biggest fault; having your pet have to chase the boss around sinks your DPS more than it does for the other two specs.

Well, according to their testing, SV is actually performing the worst in movement fights.

The whole idea of spirit beasts is to give us a little something extra. Also, there's LOADS of posts out there on how BM really isn't that much worse than the other specs. And I'd bet that for someone like me, who's used to, and LIKES BM a lot, we'll do far more dps in it, since it's a spec we enjoy. But, that aside, many of the exotics seem to be pets that Blizz wasn't going to originally make tameable, such as worms, and devilsaurs. The new ones were likely made exotic to give Beastmasters something special from the expansions.

Honestly, us beastmasters don't really get much that's special other than our special pets. As others have said, if they wanna give us all the pretty toys you get in the "useful" specs as some of you guys put it... Then you can have our pretty pets :D

as far as my pet having issues chasing the bosses... I don't have much of a problem in that area. There's also, judging from my Suki's spec, at least 3 "extra" talent points when you're BM that isn't needed to get all the dps talents. Suki has the healing ones and heart of the phoenix, but that's cause she's special. If you were to pick up the one that passively increases speed.. and then turn off cower (or have a cunning pet and get the talents that remove the movement penalty) the speed will be faster. People always talk about how we're gimped because our pets are "never close enough" for kill command, or the kill command procs.. but I almost NEVER have that problem...

Ah.....that seems really odd, but I guess because it relies more on cobra shot for focus than the others seem to having to swap to fox while moving to cast it and keep your focus up causes it to lose deeps.

IDK what i'm complaining for, anyway. I always get made to play BM when I raid on my huntard anyway because apparently i'm the only person in the group who can manage to hit Derpface on Shannox for enough to break his face rage thing with KC :\ lol alt groups.

I think that's player movement, though, not boss movement. I know that on a fight like Shannox I lose a bunch of kill commands while my pet's chasing the doggies around. BM damage output while the hunter's moving can be pretty good if you have BW running or the ability that give you extra focus is available...just keep slamming arcane shots into the boss while you run around.

Nachtwulf wrote:People complaining that all specs should be able to get exotics are typically just elitist players that believe that because some other spec may be ahead 200dps, or even 1000, that moving to a different spec is only something a complete loser n00b would do, but they want the shiny shiny new toy at the same time.

And it really -is- just because it's shiny, because while SBs do have utility, it's not much more than your basic cat. (the heal's better in pvp than pve, but like I said, I rarely have the need to use it, at least.)

If I had to pick an exotic with great utility, it'd be shale spiders. Remember the days of the gorilladin? Shales are LITERALLY pocket pallies, shy of being able to rez you if you die, and all with infinitely less ass-scratching. (never liked gorillas.) But are the SV/MM hunters whining about shales? No. It's SBs (and maybe Krush).

I echo the sentiment above... when we get Explosive Shot and Black Arrow... then you can have your exotics. Hmm... aren't these the exact same people who were whining about 'wah wah spec homogenization all the specs feel the same Bliz is making the game too simple'? Yeah. I thought so.
I do agree in very general terms that asking for exotics to be made available to all specs is kind of a "have your cake and eat it" type of thinking, however that being said - less use of the words "whining" and "elitist" please; both tend to fast track discussions into the gutter, and I'd rather not see Petopia turn into wow forums 2.0. :|
