'Bigger' is kind of a touchy thing with hunter pets, as we've seen from the Kibler's Bits discussion. :PSasrei wrote:[[...] the enrage doesnt give them extra dps or anything it just looks red and bigger.. [...]

Every glitch? I want unlimited flasks! :PIjomi wrote:I think the devs should have a black humor about the solution of this, and have the thing be like MissingNo all the way around. Glitchy wouldn't be nearly as hurfdurf kewl if it corrupted the rest of the stable. :p

Re: I spoke to a GM about our fire pet!
It doesnt have any shape though to tell what it is... least i know if im a warlock and im fighting the boss that completes hellfire ramparts (forget his name..), i know that the felhunter thats running off towards another player isnt mine. I dont know if the fire sitting on the ground behind a boss is my pet or an aoe, i dont know if thats a visage of my pet running off to eat someones face or an aoe the boss aimed at a player so it could harm everyone in their general area for x amount of time.Sam wrote:Some bosses try to kill us with voidwalkers or even beasts that look like our hunter pets. I turn my names for critters, pets, and guardians off cause it bugs me when i want to take a screenshot but my pets name is half-way in my screen and i cant tell you how many times ive clicked my mini-pets by accident when im fending off mobs that are right beside me (which is why ive changed to try to find adorable flying minipets cause they dont give me that problem... but thats also why i continue to keep their name turned off because now its about the same height as the name of my hunter-pet).
If it had even just enough substance to make it look like there was a creature within the fire i wouldnt complain but its not so i am... i still wouldnt mind if blizz made a compromise and changed it to a raptor on fire or at least put the spirit of the raptor in the flames just to make it look more 'out of place' im a dungeon thats full of fire. This xpac is all about fire, they arent gonna redesign perfectly good graphics for fire aoe's in their raids just so we can keep our blobs >_>.

Re: I spoke to a GM about our fire pet!
The issue is with the fact that in certain pvp situations this "pet" isn't targetable. If it wasn't a potential exploit, I'd have no issue what-so-ever with it (other than the fact that it's not actually a pet.. but just means I wouldn't tame it).Dr. Rockso wrote:This can be simplified, you dont like the Pet dont tame it, if you like the pet and think its fun tame it and let hunters that have it be grandfathered in. Simple as that
And even if it WAS targettable all the time with nameplates (which.. I believe I saw a post SOMEWHERE where someone mentioned it wasn't in their testing), not everyone wants to have big ugly nameplates all over the place <.<

Re: I spoke to a GM about our fire pet!
Fire puddle = non sentient. It isn't even remotely close to looking like a creature. We as hunters bond with creatures. Leave the fire bending to the mana users. That's the issue we have with it. It isn't like the shale spiders that have basic survival instincts while looking elemental, this is, flat out, a little campfire.Dr. Rockso wrote:oh well yea they will more then likely make it targetable but i also see alot of people on here complaining about its fire and we shouldn't have it cause the way it looks. How a pet looks should only affect the person that actually owns the pet.

like i said they should and more then likely will fix the target issue as for the Body this mob had a body its just a pool of fire just like the ooze is a pool of ooze

It would be really neat to have your pet it's non tamed size for say 20 seconds or so. However I think people would complain about it.Nubhorns wrote:'Bigger' is kind of a touchy thing with hunter pets, as we've seen from the Kibler's Bits discussion.Sasrei wrote:[[...] the enrage doesnt give them extra dps or anything it just looks red and bigger.. For the fire pet, I wouldn't use it in Dungeon or raid. It looks to much like stuff your not supposed to stand in.
I believe if you can believe out of nothing an explosion (big bang) happened then how far fetched can god be?
