Re: The Consolation Corner
Report that jerk, just report him! Arg, that makes me mad too! He was all sorts of wrong. And why is it such a big deal to let the other faction tame a gosh darn pet? I will never understand this logic....I have helped more horde hunters than alliance (i'm alliance) in obtaining these pets, so I just don't understand it.starkittens wrote:i am SEETHING! after helping a hunter tame banny...we went to look for he MF rares...karkin was up..but just as she was about to tame after getting rid of her fox a STUPID HUMAN PALLY CAME AND OUTRIGHT KILLED KARIN! then when i asked him on my NE hunter he said " i wont ever let a horde tame a pet. never ever. so you can go and some stupid idiot women thing (my NE is female) like cook or clean cause women are idiots who take thing to seriously".....I AM SEETHING NOW!!!!

Re: The Consolation Corner
I actually got reported myself ages ago back in Wrath-Naxx, not for saying anything sexist or even being rude in any way, but I was reported for supposedly roll-hacking. I had joined a Naxx 25 man pug, back in the later days of that raid tier where pugs could actually complete the entire dungeon in a few hours time. I was on my mage, and got what I would call the most massive insane streak of loot-rolling luck I've ever recieved in game. Out of the 25-man pug I believe I collected 3 pieces of the tier-drops/token things (Whatever they were, I cant even remember) including the helm off the last boss (Cant remember what the other two were...). Not including another 3 drops off of the other bosses. Life and Death the castor sword (it was either that or the pretty swirly staff off Horsemen...was Life and Death 10man? God its been ages.), being one of them. I believe the other two were a want, and the BIS slot trinket for a mage at that time. I won these all with legit random rolls, as we were doing with the entire run because it was nothing but a pugged run. If it had been a guild run I doubt I would have been even remotely as greedy, but seeing as how I didnt know these people...anyways. My mage had been extremely under geared at the time she was pugged in, (they only wanted a mage for the food and buff, I just happened to be one of the only ones online that they could find to go in dalaran.) but then I walked out there more geared then some people had went going in....And I am guessing a fairly number of them reported me for roll-hacking. Next day a GM contacts me saying they had recieved a sudden large number of complaints from people. But since they could find nothing having done to my account related to roll hacking, they just "advised" me to be "nicer" to other players in the future when it comes to loot drops so that people would not be become upset.
I laughed it off myself. But I do wish they'd have faster action against players who are reported. Though I can see why they contacted me the next day with the amount of complaints having went in all at the same time I suppose. Least thats my speculation.

If he normally goes about his day saying stuff like that with no shame, he may already have been warned in the past. So it can't hurt, considering the fact that the comments are sexist, its reason enough to report harassment. Maybe nothing will happen, but something could possibly be done. If every person thinks nothing will happen to him and doesn't bother to report something like that, then he will continue to harass people and get away with it.
GMs encourage you to report the players like that guy. Screencap it and show your friends, encourage them to report him too.

Yeah. GMs have to keep their lips sealed about that stuff. It's like the Doctor-Patient privacy ordeal.Sarantha wrote:A similar person said a sexist thing to me (my toon is a female orc) and I also reported him. The GM I talked to said it was indeed a serious offense and very much reportable, but he couldn't tell me what would happen to the person because its "against the rules" but he's sorry I had to deal with that jerk.

I think... and that helps him get lower in health) and then reviving pet to rinse and repeat. So long as Deth is slowed by ice traps and CS he should be slow enough to give you time to rez your pet. It will help having someone around too, during the times you have to rez pet. Communication is a good thing if you are not soloing, cause the last 20% can be bad if two people end up dying. Also, use a spider pet that has a web ability to help with slowing Deth. And its probably the best option if the pet you are using is a "trash" pet... meaning one that you can abandon while its dead when you are ready to tame Deth. Or if you are good and can dismiss it, either way it doesn't matter. I also hear that survival can be a good spec to tame this in cause of the quicker CD of traps and the skill "entrapment". Hope this helps, but this is what I have gathered from everything I have read + my own experiences (And I've failed 3 times, no success yet... but other people/bad choices ruined it) Its hard to sometimes get it right when you are excited, so try and relax if you can.
Thanks a bunch

Then tonight with your advice I tamed Deth! Ice & snake traps helped alot. Right at the end 2 horde non hunters came over and attempted to kill him ugh. But my tame went off just in time!
So thanks a bunch

Grats, glad you got him, and so did I! And grats on your other tames as well. And good luck on your hunt for the kitties and Skoll.Isabeau wrote:Serenith wrote:I'm no expert. Thanks a bunchThe night after that happened I guess the hunter gods felt bad for me and I managed to tame Olm, Ban'thalos, & Terrorpene. All three pets which I have been trying to get forever. I am so happy.

So thanks a bunchNamed Deth Arachne. Now I just need to find the last two new spirit kitties and Skoll all of which I have yet to even see ever. I never even seen anyone on my realm with either of the cats- weird.

Felt bad for him, but like most people, I figured the person who killed it thought similar to me, IE hey its common, you can tame a common that looks just like it. Still, I guess brown/copper/whatever Madexx needs love too.

I think they hotfixed that recently so you cant tame him when you do that unless his buff is gone.Sarantha wrote:My solution to Skitter is to use my NElf druid to root him. The hunter wanting him can tame as soon as he is rooted, no kiting, traps, etc required. Just tame as soon as he's in roots. SO easy. No challenge though. And hard to communicate "TAME IT NOW!" when the person you're helping is horde and you're alliance. I usually try /ready and /charge emotes, but occasionally those end up with the hunter dpsing it for some reason and dying. I usually end up having to log to my horde hunter and tell them that I'm the druid trying to help and just tame it as soon as its rooted.

Re: The Consolation Corner
I've heard of people using Wyvern Sting and taming.... or Scare Beast and taming. Can that still be done too if he still has the "Superheated" buff? Or dos the buff have to be removed? I watched them try on this guy and the energy was so low when the buff was removed and they didn't hit tame fast enough (Or didn't realize they could and Skitter fell over dead moments later)Jessibelle wrote:I think they hotfixed that recently so you cant tame him when you do that unless his buff is gone.Sarantha wrote:My solution to Skitter is to use my NElf druid to root him. The buff HAS to be removed. You can scare beast him but it wont let you tame him while he's scared.Serenith wrote:I've heard of people using Wyvern Sting and taming.... or Scare Beast and taming.
