Well.... Solix and Anthriss spawned in too.... but sadly they both died. A belf hunter was kiting Solix and the energy bar dropped too low and he died (I assume she wanted it, but didn't realize when she should tame it?) and Anthriss was trying to be tamed by 4 separate hunters (3 horde, 1 Alliance), but a mob of hordies wouldn't let them have it. Despite the fact that they died multiple times, they still killed it, robbing those hunters from a chance at getting a rare yellow spider. Yes, I get it... there are common yellow ones that wander about close by, BUT some people prefer the challenges or the fact that it is a rare. Stop screwing people put of a tame that THEY want, its not all about YOU (Yes, you, I say YOU, as in you people who continue to kill hunter pets for no damn reason) And frankly, its not your concern if there is a common mob available, as the hunter has the right to decide which pet he wants to tame.... I even whispered a different hunter (not one who was trying to tame it, but one who was just watching) and it turns out they had a common yellow spider... and she preferred her baby version to Anthriss, so yeah... hunters have the right to decide which version they want. K, thx, bye.

A hunter tried it before and it didn't work at all. She tried more than once and there was a crapton of hotfixes in 4.2.2. I've had reports from other hunters on my server saying it didn't work anymore unless his buff was gone.

Heh, finally saw my first Karkin.... and I hesitated taming it cause of an orc hunter that was trying to get close to him. They had been camping the Skarr/Karkin area a lot lately, and I figured they would get more use out of him so I waited, just as they started to attack him to get the tame going... a belf mage nukes the crap out of it. I asked the orc on my horde toon if they wanted Karkin or wanted Skarr and just decided to kill Karkin, but they wanted both, and didn't even realize how it died. Curse you belf mage. So far today, not one lovely MF rare became a pet. Not one, they all ended up dead, I sure hope the next few that spawn get tamed. Me a sad panda now...

I sat around for 30 minutes watching NOT ONE PERSON try to tame Karkin (normally he dies within 10 minutes of spawning) and that made me a sad panda. He looked lonely. Such a cute little crab (with evil spells of firey doom) and no one on either faction wanted him!

Eventually, someone showed up and tamed him for their 12 year old cousin, so a little kid will get enjoyment out of Crabby.

Now for the sad part. I was still on my alliance druid from doing dailies, Deth is up and a troll hunter I know is trying to tame it. He knows my alliance toons and /waves me and /begs me, so I stick around and just stand there rooting Deth for him while he keeps saccing and rezzing his pet. Near the end of it, when Deth is finally at tamable health, a random orc douchebag suddenly runs in from nowhere and starts spamming tame and gets the tame me and my horde friend had worked for. I HATE TAME GANKERS!!!!!!!

Some people are like that. I've had to personally whisper an alliance hunter saying, "Stop spamming tame, you did none of the work." He THANKFULLY stopped, and the hunter I was helping got his purple spider. The alliance hunter who I helped actually said to me, I would have never gotten him without you, which made me all warm and fuzzy inside for some reason
(This wasn't to be rude or anything, I just wasn't allowing another hunter who did NONE of the work tame something hard to tame as Deth)

i think blizz should bring the happiness thing back but this time if your pet gets too unhappy it'll run away and you have to re-tame..it'll affect all pets you have active (the happiness...)

Thats honestly what I think. Its just bad taste to come in after someone else does everything and steal the tame. Wait for your turn, if you can reasonably do everything that you are supposed to do on your own (or heck even with some help), then you are entitled to a Deth of your own.... BUT that doesn't mean you can take someone else's hard work. (Granted people still are stealing this pet from other people... it just really doesn't make the Deth you stole an honorable one, and you should be ashamed of yourself.) Be there first, engage him yourself, (alone or with help) do the work, and that makes the pet "yours".

I understand some people don't realize that you aren't trying to kill it, and then they try and tame it, thinking they are actually "saving" it.... but thats a horrible excuse and its getting annoying to hear. (Its a different story if there is no hunter in sight) If you really wanted this pet, you would probably put in some time researching it and getting to know the challenge instead of jumping in and not knowing anything, claiming you were trying to save it from death (Especially when there is a hunter there, assuming they are trying to kill it is a horrible thing to do). Because if you know anything about Deth'tilac, you can't just hit tame from the start because you have to lower his health significantly. To me that shows you were just trying to tame it cause it was there, not cause you really wanted it that bad.

Oh and preventing a person from successfully taming this pet because you can't have it yourself or they are the opposite faction is just plain childish. That happened to me and I'm sure happened to many other hunters and its just mean.

@Starkittens: I don't actually agree with that because all my stables would be empty...I often only carry food for me, and Mana stuff for healers, which probably a lot of hunters do, too.
@Serenith: Agreed. I mean, even if I was helping horde (I will do that), I would still tell them "No, you did none of the work" And if they reply to me like, "Hey, you are the ones killing it," Oh...this is probably the nicest reply you're gonna get from me..."No..read up the tame first before making states like that. If you REALLY wanted this pet, you would have done that and know that he has to be at 20% or lower to tame" And if they cant have it themselves, I tell them this, "Camp 6 hours a day and ask around for spawn times before saying that" (Most people on my realm could camp 6-12 hours a day for say, Skarr, Deth, Kirix, Solix)
I hope I don't come off rude with my states above. I don't like to act rude, but those are my honest opinions.

Well it happened to me once, the player threatened to report me for trying to kill it. It was my first attempt at taming Deth and we got her to 19% or so when this draenei hunter showed up and tried to tame it. Yes they hit tame beast many times, but my mage friend kept attacking it to stop them from taming. We had spent around 10 minutes with this and they tried to come in and take it. But they were pretty ignorant whe it came to Deth, cause this person also said how they had every right to tame this and we should be reported for killing hunter pets. /sigh.... they assumed wrong cause I wanted to tame it not kill it! They put me and my friend on ignore before we could set them straight about how to actually tame Deth (Oh and Deth ended up dead that day, pretty much due to this hunter trying to steal the tame and my mage friend refusing to let them have it after the time and effort we put into it )

No no no no no. This was the worst thing Blizz ever had and everyone hated it.

Been camping Blue Madexx for what adds up to at least 6 months. I port to Uldum, fly around, NPCscan goes off for Madexx. Its the DAMN BLACK ONE! Not rare at all, no one at all wants it. /sigh

Whats another 6 months of looking for blue madexx? I'm about to submit another ticket about this scorpion. My cousin on another server says he sees it all the damn time and even his alt hunter has it (he does, I checked his stables in armory), and yet I have only seen ONE PERSON on my entire server with blue Madexx. I am beginning to wonder if he is bugged on my server and doesn't spawn or only spawns once every 6 months or was removed last hotfix or what.

Serenith, you're not the only one with Madexx troubles. Have you ever seen Pent's Madexx journal? He spent month after month after month looking for Green Madexx. >.<
He'll spawn! I wish you the best.

Sarantha, not Serenith. I don't think I saw her post anything about Madexx. Hehe. But I'm HOPING he will spawn. I'm back to setting my alarm to get up in the middle of the freakin night to check his spawns, so thats how bad I want him.

I had the same with Skarr a few days ago.
He was up for at least 45 minutes.
I asked guild first, no one.
I indirectly asked General. (are there any hunters there?)
I asked five different hunters in Org before I got a yes. (most said they already had him)
And it took another twenty minutes before he finally got here. (when did they disable summoning in Molten Front?)

Only one hunter passed by, and she was already using Skarr as a pet.
Poor Skarr.

The MF rares are sadly getting less and less rare. This really does make me sad and make me want to try for REALLY rare pets (like BLUE MADEXX DAMMIT) and not pets that are pretty much guaranteed like the ones in MF and Hyjal. Hyjal is more erratic, so Ban/Ankha/Magria are rarer, but still. In MF, you KNOW Kirix will spawn at some point. You KNOW Deth will spawn. You KNOW Skarr/Karkin will spawn...with pets like Madexx, it may or may not spawn on time, it might not be the color you're after, its in a huge quest area, so someone might kill it, completely erratic and Madexx has no "special" defense abilities that make it harder on non-hunters like the MF rares do. Madexx is a lvl 84 non-elite, so he dies frequently and often and has an extremely long spawn timer.

Its still sad though...I remember camping Deth for 2 weeks and getting really upset when people stole the tame, now I have to almost BEG people to tame him. Ahhhh, this does need consolation! Rares not being rare anymore and people simply killing rares because they're not "rare". A NElf hunter wanted to kill Karkin just to reset the timer so Skarr might spawn, and everyone that was currently in the area had Karkin, so it was getting real close to him just saying "eff it" and killing Karkin. Sad time for the MF rares. =(

Ban/Ankha/Magria are far from erratic. They're 6 - 16 hrs. Always. I see them ALL the time. In the wild and other hunters having them.

And who cares if they're commonly seen? It just matters if you like them or not. Not really something to get all bent out of shape about. 4.2 has been out for awhile now. Did you expect them to remain uncommon? Skarr is the most common on my server but that doesn't make me look at him any less than a rare spawn. And I love all 3 of my skarrs.

I like ALL the MF/Hyjal rares, and on my particular server, Mag/Ank/Ban DO seem quite erratic. Maybe its just the times I log in/see the mobs, but hardly anyone has Ankha or Magria. I get people in my channel jumping for joy when these mobs spawn, as if it is a very rare thing. I am going by my own personal experiences here, not using "he said, she said". I was not "bent out of shape" about it either, and I take offense at that. I was merely sad that no one wants the MF rares anymore and they end up dead more often than not because a lot of hunters don't consider them "rare" anymore. I LIKE ALL MY MF RARES! ALL of them. Check my stables. I have nearly all of them. I think Skitterflame is the only one I don't have, because of lack of interest. I do not wish to get rid of any of my MF rares, despite them now being common. I love Kirix most of all, and he actually has common, non-rare models that you can tame without the trouble, but I am not "bent out of shape" over it at all. I'm glad people can tame Kirix lookalikes if they want to. It doesn't make MY Kirix any less special.

I truly apologize if my post offended you in any way, but YOUR post offended ME as well. I know you are a mod or whatever around here, but I am sorry, I did take offense at you claiming I was upset because my rares aren't rare anymore. I don't tame pets I don't want to tame. There are plenty of pets that are rarer than the MF rares out there (IE King Krush) and I am not even trying for them because I don't LIKE them. I LIKE the MF rares, common or not. Please understand this is what I meant. I have no desire to get banned, I just want you to understand what I meant about being sad that no one wants the MF rares anymore and how I dislike seeing them die.

Pixels or not, I still hate people killing something for 25g. Its just a rude thing to do, and who knows, someone who just dinged 85 and got the quests might come into MF and want that pet. So yes, it does make me sad to see people killing them because they are not "rare" anymore.
