Hey. Don't give up just because it's taunting you with it's appearance. He isn't worth camping If it's taking you this long. Just check every now and then. Dont stay there for longer than 30 seconds unless you have a reason to that doesn't involve madexx. Just check and leave, come back later. Do that and you are guaranteed a blue madexx for little or no effort.

I didnt even want madexx and I went to uldum one day when my NPCscan went off. Showin me a blue madexx. I tamed him for the sake of having him, and didn't even know he came in more than 1 colour. And hey if I could give him to you I would. DONT GIVE UP.

He is spawning, as I saw you mention earlier - even if it's just in the same two colors, that would lead me to believe you're a victim of RNG, not a hotfix or a bug. I know Pent's hunt for a green Madexx was mentioned on the Consolation Corner - if you are at least seeing some spawns(and there's a possibility you're missing others), then I would imagine that you're just suffering from poor RNG much like Pent seemed to. Whether you want to keep up the hunt or not is up to you, but long-term camping is rarely good for you, especially when you get tunnel-vision for one color of Madexx with four others going against you. The feeling you get when NPCscan goes off and it's not the color you want is understandably one of the most painful things in the world, especially if you've been camping for months. :/ I'd suggest "giving up" as it were, but do a fly-by at certain times a day. You won't get him the fastest way possible, but it'll probably help your sanity.

If it is a bug, sitting out in Uldum isn't going to do anything about it. Put in a ticket asking about it, mention that you think it might be bugged, and go do something else. Hovering over the same patch of sand for hours isn't going to do anything but make you miserable.

I'm genuinely sorry to hear he's giving you such trouble though, really. :/ Whether it be a bug or RNG, that sort of thing just isn't fair.

Hopefully I'm not crazy thinking she's blowing my posts way out of proportion. x.x;

I'm a he, and I'm not blowing posts out of proportion. I'm merely reading in between the lines, which is what some people are capable of doing. I think its rude, condescending, and hurtful to post how you got a pet after only two days of looking when you know someone who's looked for it for over half a year. Sure, I had people say they got Aotona from sheer dumb luck after flying around Sholazar once and I'd looked for her for 2 years, but NR rares, as I thought at the time, were a total crapshoot where only so many could be up at a time and I just figured perhaps these people got lucky. At least I had proof that Aotona wasn't a bug and actually existed. There is one person on my server with blue Madexx and no on else has ever even seen it. This one person tamed him almost as soon as she got to lvl 84 and got to Uldum, so there is a lot of time in between her tame and my searching that he could have been bugged out on my server.

I thought this forum was meant to be encouraging, not disheartening by telling us how super easy all your tames were and how you have the greatest most rare-full stables ever and how it only took 30 seconds of looking to find it. I am not referring to one person in particular. There are SEVERAL people who boast and brag like this. This, I thought, was a forum where we encourage people to not give up and hope that they will get their pet, like with Teigan and Karkin. She was about to give up. Me and lots of others encouraged her not to, WITHOUT bragging that Karkin spawns sooo much and "oh I got as soon as I hit MF".

After looking at a certain person's stables, I've come to the conclusion that she feels like taming blue Madexx was sooo easy because she has it already and didn't have to bother looking for it. For me, blue Madexx is a huge deal that I've spent a lot of time on. It hurts seeing people who got it so easily tell me "DONT GIVE UP!!!111" or some shit that attempts to sound encouraging when it is really insulting.

I think you may be taking some taming posts the wrong way. :-/ Incredible rare luck happens. RNG happens. If I had gotten all the rares I ever wanted instantly, I sure would have posted, if only because it's funny how RNG worked that day. I wouldn't be bragging, I'd be sharing my happiness about it - I wouldn't lord it over other people. If someone was having trouble getting a rare, I'd still support them. I'd still wish them good luck. Getting lucky with RNG and saying so doesn't make you arrogant.

I suggest just taking a step back - RNG sucks. It really does. Many, many people here will testify to that. But it sounds like it's doing a lot of damage to you, and nobody wants you personally hurt by a rare spawn. Like Nub suggested, do flybys, it's a far calmer way of looking for rares. Check in the early hours of the day. It might work, and it'll keep your sanity intact.

What do you want, then? You posted about how you thought it was bugged, and Jess said it was unlikely because she tamed him not too long ago. It wasn't a "Haha I have this and you don't!" it was a "I don't think x is likely because y.". Many people have given you well-wishes and told you not to give up and while I can't speak for every poster, my words were sincere. You're not giving the community enough credit; if you think we're just a bunch of jerks everything we say is going to come off that way, regardless of our true intentions.

No one here is rubbing their blue Madexxes in your face. You are justifiably pissed about missing him for far too long and I understand that completely, but there's no reason to think everyone is just out to make you miserable. There is reading between the lines, and then there is pretending there's actually something between the lines in the first place.

People are allowed to be excited about their tames, and they are allowed to share those experiences with others, often alongside encouragement. That is, in a nutshell, kind of the point of these forums.

It is possible for server-only bugs...so perhaps I took it as insulting when she claimed that that was impossible.

*Facepalm* Alright here's something I gotta straighten out here....you really think Blue Madexx was my first Madexx? He's NOT. x.x; I even got a record to prove it. I camped for months trying to get the Red Madexx when madexx was in the craze....and was first introduced. But I was also in it to tame one of each color.

I had to go through 4 bronzes before I ever saw a red and that red was KILLED due to a miscommunication. Do you realize how upset I was that day? I wanted to scream. It was infuriated and very depressed. I cried to my fiance too that day. I was close to giving up but my friends(including the new one I had made) told me not to....he would spawn again. So I stayed....sure enough, Red Madexx spawned probably atleast 24 hrs after the last one did with a green one inbetween. I didn't even see a blue until I had Bronze, Black, Green, and Red first. I wanted blue pretty badly. This was all on my main hunter Jessibelle. The recent blue madexx I got LUCKY to find was on Lisaara.

I hope that clears things up. This recent blue madexx was NOT my first. I was NOT rubbing it in your face like you seem to be assuming. I also hope those timers I typed up long ago help show just what kind of wacky timer he has but he does have a bit of a medium.

Also I never once said it was impossible for server-only bugs. It's just unheard of and usually unlikely. That's in no way discouraging. Infact, thats encouraging, meaning you got a chance at him.

I know when I'm tired, I become easily frustrated and depressed. So I hope you understand where I'm coming from, Sarantha, when I suggest a good meal and a full night's rest will hopefully give you a new perspective.

And I will echo other posters that, if camping is no longer any fun for you, then doing periodic fly-bys is another good technique.

I said I give up and to ignore this post, so I'm giving up. Maybe when Mists of Pandaria or whatever comes out, I'll have a chance to try again, but not now. Its just too much stress. I got a good night's rest. I actually went to bed really early so I could set my alarm to get up at 6am and check again for Madexx (which I did, and he was up, but oh, wait, he was BLACK AGAIN). No amount of food is gonna help me feel better, I'm afraid. If I eat too much I get sick anyway. Haha.

I do understand where you're coming from, Gorman, and thank you for the kind words. I'll perhaps do flybys occasionally, but I probably won't play my hunter much, if at all. PVPing on my mage is a great outlet for my frustrations and I can get nice gear from it.

That's good. I'm glad you got a good nights rest. (I would've tamed him and named him PITA...XD).

Maybe make a new toon to fool around with or the pvping seems to make you feel better(Heck I like to raid when I wanna smash stuff).

6 am is perfect as i have mentioned and by the way, i have seen no less then 40 Madexx'es, many of which were blue before i actually got a green one, his colour is RNG, and RNG is a bitch sometimes. I've been farming old ZG for 4 years almost on CD to get my tiger and guess what? The raptor never ever dropped, so yeah, it's stressing, but it doesn't mean you won't get it eventually, because unlike old ZG, Madexx is not being removed.

Keep trying

PS: some killing on BGs sometimes helps me to relax^_^

PPS: i'm trying to be supportive in the way i understand it, honestly, because the idea of giving up on a wish makes me sad

*sigh* There was a slight misunderstanding when Sara took what was said the wrong. Frustrations happen, now its over and moved on. Noone is giving him any grief..

by all means pvp. It helps take out pent up frustrations. I pvp alot while camping tlpd just to take my mind off it. Just casually check every now and then. Are you looking for the camel mount, maybe try instead of looking for Maddex if you go back to uldum, go there to look for the camel? Itll take your mind off of looking for madexx and its.. pretty well known that sometimes the rare your looking for doesnt pop until your no longer looking for it

Plus its an added fun incentive to check for a wee little statue, which is different from looking for a big large blue scorp

This is sound advice. I ran into Madexx 2-3 times while figurine hunting in the past week or so. When NPCscan finally went off for a figurine, I thought it was Madexx - was pleasantly surprised. I saw fewer Madexxes on the hunter who's actually looking for him.
