If I recall correctly, Blizz has never confirmed an increase in spawn timers for any of the Northrend Rares just because it's a less used zone now. Same goes with Outland and even Azeroth for some spawns, it's purely the luck of the draw.

I didn't expect them to be.... just that Northrend is less populated than it used to be... therefore it *should* be more likely to spot a rare compared to the WotLK days when I camped them and every zone was highly populated with farmers and questers. People still quest there to level, and some people still camp things there like TLPD.... but Sholazar Basin in particular isn't farmed the way it used to be back when I tamed Loque, that was a nightmare (plus he counts towards an achievement and drops shiny loot making him a target for those farmers) ...I think I worded what I said incorrectly is all. I never expected spawn times to change, just that they would have a chance to be left alone a bit longer (More people spend time in Cata content nowadays)

I'm not mad or anything, so don't feel bad. In fact when I re-read my own post I can see how it could be mistaken for what you thought. I tried to re-word what I meant the second time to make more sense. I'm guilty of not making sense sometimes, so no biggie! I'm used to people taking things differently than I mean on occasion, hehe

It is hard to tell the way people mean things when you are simply reading something instead of hearing it spoken. Occasionally my bluntness will get me in trouble in-game with guildies, but I talk my out of it by explaining what I meant and that it just came across wrong because of how badly I phrase things most of the time.

I really want Baron's Steed, since I love undead horses, but in vanilla, I think we ran Strat about 100 times trying to get that mount to drop and I didn't ever want to go through that again, so I don't think I've set foot in Strat since then.

You know, it's funny you should say that. I wanted the mount on Rhyela, so I said I'd run it til I got him. Well, as the number of runs kept climbing higher and higher, I began to feel more and more discouraged. Finally, around run 90-something, I told myself I was going to quit at 100. Sure enough, by run 100, he hadn't dropped.

Well, one night, no one was on and I was bored; so, mainly just for poops and giggles, I took Apollyon through there, only halfway paying attention. Wouldn't you know it, but on run 101 (no, not joking), the mount dropped.

Hmm. Hope! Perhaps I should try again. As a mage, those silencing mobs are a pain though. I resist most of the silences, but occasionally one gets through my awesome level 85 powers of overpowering the instance and I have to sit there and let them beat on me until I can start spamming arcane explosion again and kill them. 71 runs of Deadmines on my hunter to get the Albino Eyegouger parrot. I said I was giving up on run 71, but lo and behold, on run 71, there he was, the sole albino, fluttering near the ground in the final room.

Shit seems to appear when you least expect it or are about to just give up.

offtopic - I did 256 runs for my deathcharger - no kidding, and I counted and logged what dropped etc.

Ontopic - GL Feralclaw! On KT Loque is up quite alot as the Basin always seems to be empty Try asking over general too - I know someone who got their Loque this way! A pally was mining when he spawned right next to him, so he /w my friend and she got him He even asked not to be paid Some ppl in WoW are still nice ^_^
