Pets for Goblin
I need some fitting pets for a young Goblin huntress, as I finally got around to leveling Skappfin and she finds herself in need of something other than a plain red crab. I'm really tempted to name Skapp's pets after various engineering parts, explosives, and/or dangerous substances since I am toying with the idea of making her an alchemist and engineer. Plus let's face it - Goblins love exploding stuff xD I've already decided on a spiny crab but those are ages away. In the meantime I'm game for some other pet ideas, preferably non-mammalian, though I'll of course pick up one if it's suitable.
Backstory: Skapp mostly doesn't associate with the Cartel anymore because she feels that even for a Goblin, the current Trade-Prince is a self-serving SOB. She's actually less focused on the financial aspect of being a Goblin and more interested in their ability to create things that destroy - or, in the case of her current project, creating something to attempt to reverse destruction. She's studying under Forsaken alchemists in the hopes of discovering a cure for undeath.

Heh, well because she is trying to find a cure for the undeath, it almost makes me want to say try out a diseased wolf.

Diseased Young Wolf (level 1 in Elwynn Forest) or Rabid Worgs (level 10-11 in Silverpine Forest)
Now, since you were looking mainly for pets that resembled destruction or explosives and not mammals, this one struck me as a good pick.

Marsh Hornets are level 15-16 inLoch Modan

Gosh-Haldir,15 Rare in Loch Modan

and these can be tamed with little embers on their wings if I'm not mistaken

srry.. just popping in to make mention of a couple of those ideas, im actually a tad busy in-game to look for models sorry D: the multi-color raptor comes from the goblin start zone so you'll have to delete her and reroll to get that raptor if you didnt tame one, and the 2 headed red vultures lose their embers upon taming and death, so if you use the 'kill revive' tame, its appearence only (i think anyways, im not actually 100% sure now if they keep the embers after dying. but im 98% sure they dont)

I know you didn't want mammalian pets, but going in the line of thinking with your goblin wanting to find a cure for undeath, it brings up a chance to make use of an undead pet theme.

Alternate bear skins:

Another idea is one I'm doing on an alt hunter of mine. She's an herbalist and an alchemist and she prefers dabbling in the "darker" side of those arts so I'm choosing her pets' looks and names accordingly.

Many different skins from the families listed above can be substituted in for those colors; those are just some examples of really standout colors that I like. Really for this theme anything sort of poisonous and chemically works really well.
And then, of course, you can always go with a sort of fiery, explosive like theme since your goblin likes to work with all things destructive.

And of course, there's nothing wrong with mixing and matching some themeing a little, especially with a diverse goblin like yours.
I also didn't feel like listing a bunch of different alternate skins so I just sort of grabbed ones that stood out to me. Happy hunting!
And yes, the vultures that keep their embers are appearance only, which means if you use the kill and revive method to tame one, it'll be nothing more than a showcase pet.

I would DEFINITELY vote for Terrorpene if you don't mind a little rare camping.. Especially if you're RPing! You could tame the regular ancient turtle to use as a tank pet until you manage to find him.. and then make up some kind of story about how there was an accident with some explosives, or new potion you were testing out <.< It pretty much writes itself
Pretty much the first thing I think of when I see terrorpene... and think of him being with an explosives loving goblin is "oops!"

Ooh I really like the felboar as an idea for Skapp. I hadn't even thought of those! The runed demon dogs are gorgeous too
But after seeing it - I really, really want a Death Ravager for her. I think he'd fit perfectly xD I definitely want one of those Outland model raptors too, but as I'm not fond of color changers I think my next option is to level her up a bit. And Gosh-Haldir is very pretty too. Ugh, so many nice looking pets in Alliance zones >.> Thank you for all the ideas! I'm definitely going with some of them and they have also spurred some ideas of my own
