So I dared to enter the molten front again. I decided to check for Deth - he's up, I whisper the only other hunter around, but she doesn't want him. I leave Deth alone and see Kirix is up. I pass the fire and watch him a bit with my Tauren. There are some skeletons around, but no one there who tries his luck. Then I see Skitterflame is up, too. I have one spare slot, so I try to give Skitter a shot, as I never tried him before. Scare beast got him out of range twice, but the third try worked really easy. I read in the forums that somone thamed a pet no one wanted (I think it was Sarantha) and called it Noonetamed me - so now I've my own Noonetamedme at Larkania's side. Kirix was still running around, I eagle eyed over to Deth and see he was dpsed by Alliance. A hunter is in the group so I keep eagle eye over at Deth. They didn't seem to have any clue about sending pets in to lower his health, but I'm getting used to Alliance on my server having no clue about these pets in general (and most Horde , too I have to admitt that). So Deth health gets to tameable, the hunter tries to tame, but has no aggro (Deth runs after a warri and a rogue), Deth kills the two and is dead. I hate to say it again, but IF YOU HAVE NO CLUE WHAT YOU'RE DOING - LEAVE IT BE!!! So sadly Deth is dead again. I don't want Kirix to have the same end and log over to Findu standing in OG. I fly over to Hyjal and enter the molten front. Still not other hunters, Kirix is still up. I put on my normal PvE gear hop up the rocks and get onto the one with wind buff. I already have Kirix with my orc, but during various tries to rehome him and noone succeeding I was curious to try it out again by myself. I watched gazillions of hunters fail on him with various methods, so I'm prepared for severals tries. I pull out my corehound and pop hysteria, hit tame and my tamebar says something like 5 seconds (have 9% haste on my gear and the wind buff), the tame finishes the same instant he starts his cast, Kirix flashes and gets a blue sign "Spinne - Begleiter von Finduilas"- easy peasy. I named him Nooneloves me, as on my server nobody wants to have him anymore, due to his deadly behaviour.

I don't think Larkania will keep Flicker, but I'll have him around untill I find Karkin.

What a neat name idea. I agree if you have no clue wither alt tab out and read up on the tame or just let the rare mob be. On the other hand I see Deth up all the time now and no one seems to want him anymore or they already have him. Seen him sit around for more then 30+ mins. -_- Seems most of the rare spiders just sit there now either because no one can tame them (Solix, Kirix) with ease or they already have them.

Only ones people see to still fight over are Ankha/Magria and Skarr/Karkin.

OMG. I named red Madexx Noonetamedme, those exact words! Because he just walked around Uldum for a few hours and I felt bad for him and tamed him (I had no Madexx at the time, and really didn't have any intention of taming red, but I did, and now still have poor little Noonetamedme, my token red Madexx).

I do feel sorry for Kirix. No one EVER loves him.

@ Sara: I read about your Madexx name in one of your posts and thought it would fit perfectly, as everybody seems to prefer the non-rare red spiders instead of the challenge (wrote it somewhere in the middle of my first post, I think).

Today same thing. I enter the molten front: Deth, Kirix and Skitter are up. I saw a dwarf hunter fail miserably to Deth and tried to make him understand I would help him with emotes, but he just /cheered at me and then left. Then I notice the same dwarf at Kirix, but he tries to tame him from the ground without the disengage-method (actually without any method at all), then he sees me hopping over the rocks and follows me, but he falls down every time and then leaves. Others come and go, try killing Kirix, try taming, but all die. Skitter is still up and I can convince my fiance to bring his Orc over to tame him. Works with fear on the first try and now he has a new Spider named "Tabasco" (fits my Chili-Solix). We do some Kirix-killing watching. Alle people trying on him are Alliance and we are not able to help. I eagle-eye over to Deth and he's still up unharmed and left alone. So I ask my fiance to bring over his Druid so I can tame Deth with my Tauren. He comes over and roots him for me while I send in Noonetamed me until I can tame him. No gankers/griefers this time, thank you! I never wanted to have Deth with Larkania, because I already have him with Findu, but he looks so nice next to her, his purple matching her violet shirt perfectly, I immediately felt connected to Pruneau (french for plum).
Kirix was still running around when I finally left the molten front. Nobody wants him on my server anymore, I think just because he kills so many people when he's up that everyone is afraid of him. When I whisper hunters if they are looking for one of the spiders I always get a "no thank you", if there are hunters around. The whole crazy mf-business seems to cool down a bit. But I still never saw Anthriss alive.

I have Kirix but after trying to help a Goblin hunter tame him for 2 hours, I hate his green butt now xD

I accidently killed Deth when trying to tame him yesterday. I was trying to keep an eye on his health and next thing I know he goes bottom up. I felt bad but had to laugh about it. The spiders are always up when I got to Molten so I am not worried about waiting forever to get him again.

I wish you good luck, Kasstra. Try to get a druid to root him for you, it's easier to pay attention to his health this way and he can't eat your face off while rezzing your pet.

I really love Kirix, too. That's why I tamed him, although I didn't want him again. But he is just so fierce and deadly, I had to try it out once again

Yeah, people love Kirix less nowadays cause of the tiny mob and then saying he isn't unique.... To me he is the most interesting spider of all of them. He seems very energetic when you watch him, but also very deadly. And he seems almost impossible to kill, I've seen all the other spiders die, but not him. Kirix always seems to kill his attackers. Those factors make him sorta special to me. Considering how easily he killed me when I tired to tame him, that made him a worthy tame. Granted, all of the spiders pack a punch... but Kirix is special in his own way. I have nothing against the other spiders though.

The people turning away from Kirix didn't really "love" him in the first place; they just wanted another shiny rare with a unique look. Fine by me; keeps those of us who truly are attached to the little killing machine in the minority.

Before seeing the spiders in the game, the purple color made Deth my favorite. After getting to see them in action though, I have an undying love for Kirix. His murderous tendencies are so endearing.

Seems like a fitting Name, Zuilu, he mostly just sits in his lava pool on our server waiting for some douchebag to come by and kill him. Poor thing, but it makes me happy that my fiance developed a great love for his Tabasco, he finally gets the love he deserves.

Hey! I love Wihio, the glowy green spider formerly known as Kirix. He was the first of the challenge beasts I tamed.

I've seen more of the hunter challenge rares up lately (never Karkin though, dangit). I suspect it's because a lot of people got their Molten Front pets/mount/achievements and don't go there any more. Can't say as I blame 'em. I just go back in hopes of finding Karkin (always frickin Skarr...why?)

In a way, that's a shame. I loved seeing Kirix running around on a merry little killing spree.
