When they fixed fire pets did they also fix revive taming?

The reason I ask this is because me and a friend spent countless hours yesterday trying to trick tame the consumed bears in darkshore and the lone hunter in epl. We had the pet disappear at the end of the tame right as he died and we were able to revive them only for them to look completely normal with no special effects. I am curious in Blizz's response to people trick taming the fire pet did they also make it so trick taming no longer works anymore. I know I have read a few posts in here from people saying they got it to work. But I have to be honest with you. With like 10 seperate disppearances between those two types of pets and each one coming out without the pink glow or in the lone hunter's case the knife in his head. I can only see that Blizz has perhaps changed something in the background no longer allowing pets with buffs to keep their buffs no matter what method we try. Pet abandon no longer works as it once did and now this seems to be unable to work as well. I would like to get some confirmation from long time members whether this is just a fluke or really something has changed. The sad part is these pets that have special looks personally I wish Blizz would just allow them to keep it regardless. That is what makes them unique. Rare pet, or not, an appearance buff does absolutely nothing to the integrity of the game. Doesn't change anything but being perhaps happier with the pet we have. I have tried to get icehorn with the death revive method and seriously he has died right as the tame ended only to be normal as well. Before this point there was a definitive if it worked it didn't automatically let you revive your pet, it would tell you your pet is not dead, so you had to log out and back in and there he would be. But now it revives if it works and in these cases without the buff. I am baffled. I am trying to figure out if we are doing something wrong or Blizz is just making it so we get what we get and that is it. Which to me is why create pets with buffs if people can't tame it and keep it that way, personally it should have never had to be trick tamed it should have just been left alone and allowed to be tamed with the buff only if it affects its appearance. I don't agree with damage buffed tamable pets. But if those are the reason then make them untamable and not make it so people like me who want icehorn with the blue buff under him to miss out on the unique look.
