Has anyone else had this happen..?
Was trying to help a hunter last night tame Kirix, and was using the tried and true core hound method - it works.. it ALWAYS worked for me.. five times it has worked for me helping someone, (or even my own tame which I did while weakened), and have seen many others use this method to and pull it off without a hitch -
But not last night.
I use Ancient Hysteria.. the hunter starts spamming tame, Kirix comes over and kills my core hound the dodges the tame.. OK I have seen him evade the tame before, but .. killing the core hound..??? That was.. new...
And he did it 3 other times afterwards, every single time I would AH, he would target the core hound and kill it... what the..eff?
The hunter did eventually tame Kirix (yay!) but it wasn't not from any help from me (boo), but again, I have NEVER seen him kill the hound before.
Anyone else experience this weird "glitch"?

Re: kirix glitch?
Sounds like AH was activated after Kirix saw you guys but before the tame started, so maybe he was simply responding to the aggro generated by ancient hysteria - buffs to party members don't generate ~much~ aggro, but if there was nothing else for it to compete with, then pet becomes first on the menu.
Best thing to do is activate AH just before combat starts, since it has a fairly good duration. If for some reason he was still attacking my pet after that, I'd dismiss the corehound and FD.
