The Pet Debate Corner
This forum is simply to debate what pets should and shouldn't be tameable, how to tame certain pets (Ex. Taming a Boss Pet, a Strategy how to do so) Please do NOT argue or pick on peoples stragies or opinions, like [Ex:"@[Name] Wtf Basilisks Shouldn't be tameable,"] And think of completely new pets and list abilities, where it is found, ect. Have fun guys with it! Im intrested to see your ideas

Re: The Pet Debate Corner
Stags should be tamable
I mean doesn't our hunter emblem have a stag skull on it?

Just a thought :3
To Add : Stags should be all Spec
Family: Ferocity - can't see them as much of a tanking pet or cunning
Ability: Gore as a basic attack - think antlers :3
Special Family Ability: Didn't think that far ahead, but I'm going to say it should be a raid/party wide buff - perhaps a stamina increase? I don't know why, I just like the idea xD

Hydras top my wishlist at the moment for dream pets, but right below them are certainly Stags. I know Stags may seem a bit unconventional in ways, but I really think we need some more ungulate pet types, and I can see them fitting in perfectly. I've drooled over the black and green ones since I started playing back in Vanilla.

Re: The Pet Debate Corner
All of these are good ideas. I have wanted the Oozeling pet for so long (Missed him by a day
) And I thought why not make a "Malformation" or "Abomination" kinda pet. In which the pet is Dead (Like an Ooze or something) But it has enough knowledge to be tamed. So not like a huge Abomination so no taming Patchwerk. But Oozes that were decomposed beasts and things of those lines.

Re: The Pet Debate Corner
Ok....ya, Im "shooting" for the stars with this one but come on....Exotic family, dragons...they can shrinkie dink down just ike the devis' do and become a more realistic size for a pet. Special pet attack: fire ball (close to a mage pyro blast) Reg family attacks: Bite and claw
That and I myself would LOVE one of the elemental fire hounds (maybe the hawks as a fire family pet like the SB are a same family pet?). Special pet attack: either stun (head butts/charges like the do now) and bite and claw as a reg attack. (If I promise to take really really good care of one and give it a forever home can we please please make them tameable?)
And, of course lets not forget hydras...come on...they are cute (dont question me, Im female...if I say its cute, its cute!!!) special pet attack: maybe a water blast or a tail slap that confuses or stuns. and ya bite and claw

Re: The Pet Debate Corner
I'd be positively giddy if they ever made a tameable Charhound. I feel they're kinda being wasted as simple quest mobs. I'm not sure if any other hunters feel that way but I think they'd make a wonderful ferocity addition. They're like the demon dogs, They could have the same abilities and be in the dog or wolf family, or maybe even as spirit beasts?
I realize that will never happen, but I keep dreaming about it. heh.

Re: The Pet Debate Corner
I saw something on the official boards regarding a new abilty from the hunter trainer;
Tame Dragonkin
Tame Elemental
Tame Demon
The rule was you could only learn one, and you could not undo it and get something else. The other stipulation was that the families would be very limited, and you couldn't tame a demon or elemental skin that another class already had. I liked that.

Re: The Pet Debate Corner
ow i just made my own topic and i just overread that this thread was already here ! sorry about that.
Gyroworms in Deepholm.
However I realise now that they aren't actually beasts, but then again, Shale Spiders aren't really beasts as well (in the flesh and blood kind of beasts that is).
Anyway, if not possible then I keep daydreaming about it
.
I'm very happy how things are in WoW and I feel almost ashamed sometimes to ask for even more !
About the previous post concerning Dragonkins. That would be awesome! especially if you have the complete Dragonstalker outfit ! that would be very nice indeed !

@Jan98, actually. The gyroworms in Kezan are beasts. There could be a possibility that Gyroworms could become tameable. Who knows.
But...I WOULD LOVE LOVE LOVE HYDRAS *mega squeel* I wanna tame the purple one, and name it Billybobandjoe. ._.

Re: The Pet Debate Corner
I to have always wanted Stags/talbuks/Zhevras/gazells (could all fight into one family) As pets.
Talbuks in particular, Bach'lor have always held a special place in my heart.
I also really love gazelle models and remember trying to tame a sickly one in Darkshore once...sad day to discover they were not tamable.
I am not a huge fan of oozes, I find them far to gone from "beast" catagory to want to tame one.
Fairy dragons though, I would love to tame one, again, ashenvale the fairy dragons there I tried to tame when I first started playing. They looked more gecko meets butterfly to me, rather then being actual dragons.
I like hydras, again they were something I tried taming as soon as I saw one.
Orcas/sharks/grouper fish/those eels/ the big water snakes ect I wouls love to be able to tame. For me, the ocean is in my heart and all those wonderfull underwater models just scream "Tame me!!!" But sadly blizz hasnt implimented a "underwater" stable like they have in the game "perfect world". aquatic pets that were only accessable while underwater, and were auto dismissed upon leaving the water.

I actually really love the idea of specialized underwater pets...even if we didn't see them that often, it would be so cool. I would tame a shark. Yes, I'm scared of them, but having one as a pet would probably let me warm up to it and feel reassured that it was on my side, you know? x)

Re: The Pet Debate Corner
I would bring Hydras on my list but seeing as they have gained a family and skill im rather asured they will appear soon.
First: the transparent serpentlike dragonkins that got introduced in Wrath. They act and behave more beastly than draconic in my opinion.
I would preffer em to get own family togheter with Mana wurms. I could see em "spit" a damaging bolt at enemys, an aoe blast (arcane blast ish) or a windserpents lightning bolt if new family isent possible.
I preffer Ferocity pets but it would most likely suit cunning best.
My second is sharks.
..
what!
I know its silly but i want fishy! as a enginerer i should be able to make a device that would create and hold a mass of water afloat around the fish!
a mage would prob have to help me and give the device some magic though....Or maybe i could build it legs!
Familiy would be ferocity, it would contain sharks and the other angry fish.
Skill would be "massive bite", a biting attack that would do a deal of damage and leave a bleeding effect. If pet stays on the bleeding target they gain frenzy effect. cause they be sharks.
third: Marsh stalkers. You know. those giant 3 legged tripods things from outlands.
Not sure what familiy they would fit in. most likely cunning.
Skill would be some sort of Arcane shock. Dealing damage and distorting/confusing the target for a short period of time.
forth: Talbuks and possibly stags.
Ferocity family. Ability would be a ram attack of sorts. Id very much like it to be a damage dealing knock back version of the rhino skill.
Cause that skill is f awsome! if you never braught a rhino with you up to LM in Arathi bg.... DO IT NOAW!
or just watch these: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dy6Ln6lK ... re=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_1NwN4vY ... YQ&index=7

Re: The Pet Debate Corner
All your posts are very nice. Keep up the good work!
I do especially like the post on "Tame Elemental/Dragonkin/Demon". If I could only learn one.. well.. i'd choose Demon.
Why?
Because Succubus and the Female Eredars are just.. so fun. It saddens me that Warlocks cannot use "Enslave Demon" to the same mechanic as "Tame Beast". A temporary Enslave? For Five minutes? What will he/she do? Cook an instant dinner or mop your floor?
But it's also a hard choice, my favorite mythical creature is dragons and I love the idea of taming a badass elemental but, I just love the Succubus and Female Eredar model. But, we have to wait and see. Im very intrested to see how this turns out. Thanks for that Monica Gems. Cudos to you for finding that

On the other hand, I am looking at this, according to MoP X-pac forums we appear to be getting a new kitty model. But, I am taking a look and there hasnt been any changes on the Tameable Dragonkin/Demon/Elemental

Re: The Pet Debate Corner
I'd love it if a char hound model became a spirit beast. That would rock. Those guys really are so cool looking. I can see why they wouldn't just be a normal beast but they could definitely be a spirit beast!
Clefthooves should be tameable! They can be rhinos!
Stags and talbuks would be an awesome new family. I tried taming a stag when I first started playing and was sad I couldn't. Though now I think I would prefer to have a talbuk since I love the mounts so much.
I've still got my fingers crossed for hydras.

Re: The Pet Debate Corner
Demon dogs should never have been allowed to be hunter pets. They are demons and should be useable by Warlocks only. Charhounds should definitely be someones pet. They're a little more demonic looking so I'm leaning towards Warlocks, plus warlocks can cc elementals so it sort of makes sense. And I know its kind of off topic but I wish my Warlock main could Enslave demons the way hunters tame beasts. Now that I have my hunter alt I feel kinda jipped on my lock, tbh!Tygard wrote:I'd be positively giddy if they ever made a tameable Charhound. I feel they're kinda being wasted as simple quest mobs. Fen Striders from Zangarmarsh, and the lava scorpids that Druids of the Flame turn into! Also, I want a tameable turtle that uses the mount model... its so cute!
