Rare Taming Extravaganza!

It seems like since I've returned from my nine month hiatus from WoW, I have had the most excellent luck in rare finding - one of the things I enjoy the most in this game. I just HAVE to show off everything I've collected SOMEWHERE or I'm going to explode, and this place is by far the most appropriate!

I didn't camp any of these. I just checked their spawn points every few hours while playing.

I am now only missing one spirit beast! I found Arcturis this evening, and I had never ever seen him in the wild before - not even his corpse! This leaves only Magria now. What I'm going to do with all these Spirit Beasts is anyone's guess.

I named him Badger, because he reminds me of one much more than anything ursine. I love how he fades out from front to back.



I found Ankha while out of town - I was doing dailies while at a hotel, and decided afterwards to check on the Hyjal spirit cats. She was up, and I nabbed her. Her name is now Pooka, and I think she's now my favorite spirit beast.



I also found Banthalos one evening on a whim. It took a few tries to land on that annoying tree, but I finally got him after following advice from wowhead.com. His name is Spook.



I found Madexx for the first time ever a few nights ago. It was the red one, and I nabbed it. To my surprise, it matches my favorite outfit! It's a she now, and is named Maddie.



I got bit by the Madexx bug after that, and decided I MUST have the green one. Twenty three hours after I tamed the red one, a brown one spawned. Roughly 33 hours after spotting the brown one, I found my green one (I squealed). His name is now Magoo. (I need a new luck charm! Thanks Veph!) I feel extremely lucky, I know how frustrating camping your favorite color Madexx can be from reading these forums.



I've been in Hyjal a lot lately, due to dailies and farming Obsidium. I decided to make it more exciting by checking on Terrorpene. After about 8 visits, I found him. My BFF named him Firepoot. I love him a ton - I own a tortoise in RL and so the idea of having a big, angry, battle tortoise makes me happy.



And because I like green so much, I really wanted Jadefang. After about a dozen check-ins, I finally got her. She's now named Squeaker. And about 10 hours later I was able to get the vanity pet as well!



I don't know if this counts, but it still makes me happy - tamed one of the green spider critters from the Molten Front. Named him Spindle.



And on top of all this (not a tame, but still lucky), my little level 83 paladin got the blue protodrake today. I'm sure his gryphon is relieved to not have to carry his massive bulk around anymore (a dragon is much more appropriate sized!)



My hunter is just a little bit away from getting the Vial of the Sands drake made as well. I can't believe how much luck I'm having in game lately!
Now it will all dry up because I posted this!

You are lucky mate, but that is also the way I got most of my rares!

Wow, grats. Amazing luck. I had insane luck with the Firelands rares (all but Deth tamed within the first week), but awful luck with Madexx and Aotona. 2 years to finally get Aotona and over 6 months for my preferred Madexx color. And I've never even seen the blue protodrake drop. Its a good thing I prefer traditional dragon models and think protos are fugly. Grats though. It does go well with a draenei male.

My BE mage has a green protodrake and I gotta say...just no. He'll be sticking with his purple netherdrake or Cenarion Hippogryph.

LOL! Yeah, I need to find out what the draenei word for "ugly" is and name his protodrake that! I think their ugliness is endearing (but then again, I have a funny sense of what is cute). XD

Some people think Netherdrakes are ugly, due to their shark heads and not looking like "real" dragons, but come on...its a fantasy game and they're fuggin transparent dragons. They look like dragons to me, and I adore the fact that they're transparent. They're the FIRST spectral mounts, and the best imo. My alliance toons have always felt a little put out that horde can get nearly any alliance mount (except the ugly ones, IE Mechanostriders, Elekks) but alliance can't get ANY horde mount except the raptor, chicken, kodo (fugly), and undead horse (all of which require insane luck and lots of farming, while the alliance-type horde available mounts can be gotten fairly easily).

Oh, and my draenei DK is upset that she can't get a wyvern. She thinks she would look really hot on a wyvern instead of a gryphon. Also, spectral wolves for Horde? Spectral horses (WHICH HORDE CAN GET VIA REAL MONEY AND NO EFFORT!) for alliance? So not fair. To my alliance toons. Thank god my real main is horde and my secondary main is alliance.

BTW, anyone else who plays alliance and did Argent Crusade dailies feel a bit insulted that Horde gets a GODDAMN DRAGONHAWK flying mount and all we got was....another damn bird. Albeit a cool one, but still. Horde got a DAMN DRAGONHAWK! The best flying mounts in the game. IMO.

I know. Maybe I can borrow some of the OPs insane luck and get my draenei enough rare mount drops to get the blue dragonhawk so she doesn't have to ride her Snowy Gryphon (prettiest mount out there, not riding it just cuz its all I have, I just love it).

Nooooo! The Silver Covenant Hippogryph is my favorite flying mount! I'm glad we have it! I would have been okay if they had made it available with some other faction, but I would be crushed if they were to ever remove it from the game. It's so beautiful! <3

Mission accomplished. Got Magria this morning (now named Umbra). I now have every spirit beast in the game!



I'll probably let a lot of them go, but for now seeing all those spirit beast icons in my stable amuses me.
