Sunburst Adder
Hi, I'm new here, so I'm not sure if this is indeed in the right place, or if this has been covered already (I did a search, and I don't think it has). I noticed today that my Sunburst Adder, Damballah, has a different head model; it's lost the elongated fangs that made it unique. Has anyone else noticed this?
Again, sorry if this has already been covered!
Cheers

Re: Sunburst Adder
I haven't noticed a difference in head shape between serpents at all. I have noted though that, like real-life snakes, the fangs only show when the serpent is attacking, folding back inside the top jaw otherwise. Is this what you mean? As I've never known a serpent to have its fangs show when not attacking.

Re: Sunburst Adder
Nope, and I'm aware of how real life snakes function! I swear the model used to have it's long fangs exposed all the time, like the current picture up on the Petopia site for the Sunburst Adder. Now the head seems to have been changed, though I could well be wrong!

Re: Sunburst Adder
I honestly don't remember seeing that and my hunter used to have one, also all the wowhead pictures don't show the fangs. But the petopia pictures look like a mid-action shot.

Re: Sunburst Adder
I was simply comparing the two, I didn't mean anything by it
This kind of intrigued me, so I tamed a sunburst adder and a basking cobra to compare and took a few screenshots. There are a few differences but overall, at least to me, they're pretty identical.
Side view: As you can see neither have protruding fangs when idle. If this was a feature once I'm sorry to say it was changed.

Attacking: I was aiming for a similar pose, but it eluded me. However you can clearly see the fangs in both.

I hope this clears things up

Aha! I stand corrected! Thanks for doing that. I realise now that I sounded a little hostile in my response just then, it was completely unintentional, sorry!
Sorry for the misinformed question folks!

Re: Sunburst Adder
There are a few differences in the skin of the Sunburst Adder compared to the rest, such as the gem eyes and different scale and webbing patterns. This is because it was intended for a jewelcrafting pet. But the model (which defines the fang shape) is exactly the same.

Ooh, that's a neat fact, Wain! C:Wain wrote:There are a few differences in the skin of the Sunburst Adder compared to the rest, such as the gem eyes and different scale and webbing patterns. This is because it was intended for a jewelcrafting pet.
