Question: Getting vendored items restored?
Question: Getting vendored items restored?
So today I ticked a GM about two items that I had vendored before the idea of transmogrification came out. Thinking I could get them restored because I *thought* I had heard about some people getting items restored this way? (I did Loremaster before Cata hit, there is a few BC-items I wish I'd never vendored. =( )
I had ticketed asking if the Mail Eyepatch from the BC Quest, and the Voodoo hunting bow from ZA. And the GM told me --- "unfortunately we do not currently have a way to restore this type of item however it is possible that this will be a feature developers implement in the near future."
Now I am *FAIRLY* sure I saw some people saying they got items restored this way they had originally vendored....is there anyone that can confirm this for me? Incase I need to try sending in another ticket?

Sometimes they can, and sometimes they can't. I don't know the specifics, but I assume that if too much time has passed they don't have records of the items any longer and can't restore them.

Re: Question: Getting vendored items restored?
I know it can be done, my boyfriend got hacked and all of the items he vendored from quests or drops in the past three-four days prior to his hacking were restored along with the things on the day of. And he called within an hour of being hacked as well so its not like they didn't have a proper timeframe with which to restore items.
When he told the GM about all the mis-restored items they just told him to keep it all. xD

Re: Question: Getting vendored items restored?
Looks like it must be a whole time frame sort of thing...because I know when I got hacked they restored everything as well. But I guess since I did loremaster nearly a year ago now, its not kept in my records of having ever gotten the item. >.< Sigh. Thats depressing. I really wanted that eyepatch...

Thats silly because if you did loremaster that means you did the quest so they should be able to restore it to you...how stupid.

I'm sure they hold onto records of theses things for a certain amount of time before clearing them. It's proberly a space thing or something.

Re: Question: Getting vendored items restored?
I recently got my quiver restored from the old lvl 60 epic hunter quest that I had vendored in BC (the quiver is now a very large bag so I wanted it back for space reasons) so I know it can be done going back fairly far.

Re: Question: Getting vendored items restored?
You can always try again, my boyfriend had to go through 3 different phone reps to get his account restored properly...and he started the restoration process within an hour and he got a nice person that started it...then a witch that wasnt doing anything...then calling back again got another nice person. Its really up to the CSR you get IMO.
Re: Question: Getting vendored items restored?
Hm. Alright. I think I will wait a day or two before putting in another ticket. So far looking back at the items in BC there really is only two I want restored, and the other third item is the VooDoo bow I mentioned, which I know cant be that far back in the system. Im hoping the GM I got was just too busy trying to Roleplay his answer at me to help me. >.< heh

Re: Question: Getting vendored items restored?
Perhaps make sure you point out the fact that you cannot do the quest again and point out that you have the loremaster acheivement as well as the zone achievement for quests done? Just really drive home that you already did this and really want those specific items back. XD
Re: Question: Getting vendored items restored?
I was thinking of putting into my next ticket that I *KNOW* other people got their items restored from way back, (The lvl 60 epic quiver that was mentioned above), but I didnt want to come off as a prick to a GM. >.< Heh. I just really hate that I worked my butt off to even get Loremaster back then before Cata hit, and now I am paying for it. =/Meggers wrote:Perhaps make sure you point out the fact that you cannot do the quest again and point out that you have the loremaster acheivement as well as the zone achievement for quests done? Re: Question: Getting vendored items restored?
It wouldn't hurt if you mention that the only reason you're filing the ticket is beacause you know firsthand of other instances of restored long lost items, and figuring with the upcoming patch that you would really appreciate these items back etc. Just be polite! (Not saying you weren't in the first place, you just probably got a frumpy person)
Re: Question: Getting vendored items restored?
Well, I always try to be as "sickeningly" polite as possible...lol. But this GM I got, it just seemed like he was more interested in his copy-and-paste roleplay replies then actually giving me a legitimate answer to my ticket other then "I cant do that". (He answered my ticket with two full roleplay posts, and then left with another two full roleplay posts. Its not that I dont like roleplay, its cute, and it did make me laugh, but....I kinda want my problem solved more!)Meggers wrote:It wouldn't hurt if you mention that the only reason you're filing the ticket is beacause you know firsthand of other instances of restored long lost items, and figuring with the upcoming patch that you would really appreciate these items back etc. Just be polite! Re: Question: Getting vendored items restored?
They do have the ability to restore items, it's just whether or not they will. After all, they have access to your game records, which explicitly show which quests you've completed and which you have not, no matter how long ago (as long as the quests are currently still in-game, which both of the ones you mentioned are).
I think they are getting more picky about doing it now, as they are getting so many more requests because of transmog and void storage. For myself, I've decided against asking for restorations.

Re: Question: Getting vendored items restored?
I attempted t oget my Sanctified Mail set brought back to me. I was told that the time limit was one month. I may try again, just t osee if I get the same answer, but I was told solidly that 'deleted one month ago' was the limit in this case.
Come see Kurasu's stables!

Re: Question: Getting vendored items restored?
I think that is kindof lame, I guess if you can get the items again as in they are drops then fine. But if it is a quest reward you should be able to get it restored... :/
Re: Question: Getting vendored items restored?
Believe me. I would go COMPLETELY out of my way to go get an item with the same exact skin if I actually had the "option" of doing so. But these are the very few items in the game that dont share a skin with *anything* else. And having done loremaster, it kind of cheats me.Meggers wrote:I think that is kindof lame, I guess if you can get the items again as in they are drops then fine. Or even if I could transmog leather items I wouldnt even worry about it...but its the *ONLY* Mail eye patch in the game. x.x -pulls hair out, lol-
I havent put in another ticket yet. I think Im gonna let Tuesday's rush fly by and try tomorrow.
