Ever since writing "no restrictions" for my rolls I had feared the day a diseased pet might pop up for me - the day arrived and went by. I put off taming the dark brown bear and hoped for a nightmare. It was none, so Alandria took a boat to Darnassus, flew over to Darkshore and tamed one of those creatures named bears.

The diseased dark brown bears can be found in the southern part of Darkshore (and various other places, like Tirisfal for Horde).
Alandria named her new bear Pity (because she really feels sorry for him).
Image

Appearance:
EEEEEWWWWWWWW - at least for me. I don't mind his scratches so much, but the bad looking spots on his back and around his eyes gave my stomach a funny feeling.
Image
You also seem to be able to look inside him and this creeps me out.
Seen from behind, he doesn't look that bad, the scratches almost could be taken as war paint.
Image
I didn't want to look to close at him, I just felt grossed out and so sorry for the poor thing. I wanted to wrap him into bandages, sew together his belly and give him love and food to make him get well soon. Sadly this can't be done. I would love to be able to heal those poor creatures.

Animations and sounds:
If you ever played a druid-bear you will know exactly where his sounds and fighting animations come from. He growls, grumbles and roars, he gets on his paws to appear bigger while demoralizing his enemies with his ability.
His idle animation could be cute - if he had a nice face. He looks frome one side to the other, watching his master like a guard dog.
Here is a pic of Alandria trying to bond with Pity.
Image
He didn't like swimming in the sea on Darkshore's coast - I totally understand him. Yucky salty water must hurt like needles with this skin. His animation is a dog-like paddle. In fact it looks kind of fitting for bears, but Pity didn't like to swim.
Image

Combat:

Pity is a tenacity pet, so I skilled him towards a tank (didn't have that many talent points, but a little more health and more armour was it). His ability to reduce the physical damage of all creaturs in range for 10% helps him a lot to keep aggro of many mobs and prevents him from loosing too much health. I did go into scarlet monastery with him to finish some quests my random group hadn't done and did the level 32/33 elite mobs solo with him and Alandria beeing level 35. Worked out quite well and I was glad to have him around and not my usual cat+wolf combo. I wouldn't use him in pvp, as you can't skill something like Dash or Dive for them to follow your enemy faster and I prefer other abilities for myself in pvp.
Image

Conclusion:
Defenitely not a pet a will keep. I will exchange poor Pity for this guy:
Image
or this:
Image
and pretend Alandria healed him and renamed him :)
I will not keep him only because of his looks, I like bears as my tenacity-tanking buddies, but no diseased ones. I think that he would fit well into the stable of a gothic/dark themed hunter or of an undead hunter.

Next roll please!

ok well, I tamed him and gave him a shot, and it was one of the worst experiences I've had with a pet ; ;

It started with me really disliking the color orange, on top of not being a big fan of crabs... ; ;

Well, I tamed him and did my Firelands dailies with him.

Like I said, off the bat I had quite a bit of dislike for him. He's tenacity, so I spec'd him to tank the quest mobs, which I suppose he did fine with.
I felt he didn't quite match with my character, at all. Though he matched well with Firelands lol

After 20 minutes with him I couldn't bear to do more, so I had to abandon him :[

If he were maybe a different color it would have been more bearable for me, but orange is just.. awful to me. I can only deal with it on tigers...

The pin ability is probably really useful in PvP, but since I'm not one for PvP, he doesn't do a lot for me in the abilities department either!

Poor crabs, they're completely the opposite pet of me and my personality.

I took a couple of screenshots.. it even feels like he wasn't very close to me :\

I forgot to snap screenshots.

However, I did try out the blue and red wasp: Image

Name: Orixa

Idling: I like the idle movements. They are fairly realistic and not annoying, though the weird 'butt-jiggle' she did while moving or swimming was odd.

Sounds: Some interesting hisses and such, fit pretty well with the idea of a wasp.

Swimming: pretty much slow-motion flying.

Attacking: I liked her attack animations.

While questing: She held aggro very well. The short stun is really nice for aggro and I didn't have any problems unless there were several mobs as she had no real AOE being a ferocity pet.

Overall: A nice pet with some pretty colors, but not right for Khi'jazi at all. The bugs just don't seem to suit her, though for the right character, this pet might do very well.

I'd love to do another!

I am SO sorry for the delay in my participation! I took some time off WoW for RL stuff, but I should be back on a pretty consistent basis from now on. Please forgive me!

I was assigned the Gray Turtle skin (http://wow-petopia.com/look/seaturtleskingrey.html). I promptly marched Poochyená to Dustwallow Marsh to nab her one of these silly guys.
Image
Here he is immediately after taming. He looks pretty jolly, I think. Generally turtles seem like old grumpies to me but this guy looks pretty happy all the time! I sort of loved him from the get-go. I named him Torterra, in keeping with my Pokemon theme.
Image
As you can see, he is a medium to light gray color, depending on the light, and the rim and cracks on his shell are a pretty violet/lavender shade. I'm actually not a big fan of this turtle model anymore, as I much prefer the new Cata turtle, but I found Torterra to be pretty charming. His skin is a little weird- definitely old and in need of some work! You can see his feet are especially pixelly, and his tusks need some love. I also was more than a little weirded out by his eyes! I think they were kind of a deal breaker for me.
Image
Here he is swimming. This is my ABSOLUTE favorite picture, because he just looks absolutely thrilled to be swimming, with little Mr. Chilly beside him. The turtle swim animation is pretty cute. They paddle outwards with their stubby legs, and when not moving in the water, paddle slower to keep themselves afloat. On land they are a little more awkward but still pretty much paddle the ground with those silly legs of theirs. Attack animations are basically a lunge with the head.
Image
Here you can see him floating...and also HIS CREEPY EYES! How is it he can have so much character until you get a close-up of those eyes?
While idling in Stormwind, he'll really just chill. Sometimes he snuffles on each side of him, and then raises his head and snuffles the air, which is pretty cute. I entitled this image "Snufflin Snufflin".
Image
Torterra is a pretty quiet guy, I noticed. I don't play with my sound on much, even with a quiet pet, but his sounds seemed to be quiet sort of grunty noises. Nothing too intense!
As far as his skills go, Torterra is a tanking pro! His special ability is the Shell Shield which reduces damage taken by 50% for 12 seconds, on a 1 minute cooldown. It seems that Torterra only cast this when he really needed, like when he got below around 50% health. It's pretty nice because I hate having to manage pet cooldowns, and that's an important survival skill that I like to have up when he really needs it!
Image
There's the Shell Shield in action. I like his little feet sticking out.
Turtles, I learned, are terrible dps pets. My tank did not enjoy Torterra when I brought him into a dungeon with me. Even with Growl off he stomps around and acts like an angry aggro machine. As a Tenacity pet, I wouldn't expect any less. But...no good for dpsing. I already had an idea of how PvP would go with him, but we bumbled into an Arathi Basin anyway...failspeed ahead! This is how most of my AB looked:
Image
Yep. Torterra has a really, really good job as a solo tanky pet. Really good. He's also great for replacing the dungeon tank if said tank chooses to leave for any reason. But, do not expect your turtle to exceed in dungeon/raid dps, or pvp, situations. Bad times all around.
In general I loved this pet! I came across Mahamba who is a pet I've kind of wanted since I ran into the other two in STV, so I dropped my poor Torterra. However, I most definitely will be grabbing another turtle SOON.

Another, please!
Name: Poochyená
Level: 43 (you can roll up to 45 or 46 for me, she'll be there soon!)
Exotics: Not yet!
Restrictions: None! (I do have the 3 STV rares, as well as Shadowclaw and Strider Clutchmother, but I would be happy to review any of them!)

My Arcturis review. Sorry it took so long. I really hate this pet passionately and summoned all my strength to use him long enough to review him. Anyway, enjoy Thor. He was (unfortunately) not harmed in the taking of these screenies.

Image

Front shot. Mini dragon seems to be trying to invade the photo. Its sad when a mini-pet looks way cooler than the real pet:

Another front/diagonal shot:

Thor and Sara. I'm desperately resisting the "abandon pet" option here:

Image

Well, he's the same as all other spirit beasts dps and ability wise. Appearance wise.../gag. I hate this pet's appearance. I camped him for so long because so many others kept saying how awesome he looked, and I was severely disappointed after I finally tamed him. The only reason I still have him is because it took me so long to get him. I might someday find a new love of creepy-ass bears and decide to like him. As of now...he just creeps me the hell out. Its like his front half was dipped in color while his ass is nigh-transparent. If you like his looks, go for it and tame him. If you don't, don't waste your time like I did. I am seriously considering abandoning this pet, since I don't like nor use him.

Doublepost ftl.

Anyway, finished up my report.

The Pet: Blue Warp Stalker
Location: Vashj'ir
Tame Difficulty: Easy as pie. The only issues one might have is needing to do the starting Vashj'ir quests to get a Seahorse. Other than that…

Appearance:

Image

It's a very nice model and a very nice skin. Model wise, lovely. It's a very high-quality model with a lot of little extra things, like frills and that sort of thing. Even the feet are very nicely made, which is quite unusual even in the newer beasts. The stance is great, with the tail held up high then drooping down… Honestly I can't praise this pet enough. It's not even in an annoying "IMA PROWLIN' ALL DA TIME" pose, it's just relaxed.

The skin isn't one of my favorites, but it's still popular. It's a nice sea blue, very deep-sea and really lovely. There are red highlights between his scales and his stripes are dark crimson. Breaking the usual "Eyes = stripe color" of the older warp stalkers, his eyes are bright blue, very striking.

It has fantastic animations. Its running animation is very low to the ground and waddling, a lot like a lizard would really act, while its swim is almost more dog-paddle esque. While idle, it sniffs the air and looks about.

Attacks/combat:

Image

So much <3. Unlike many pets, when idle in combat it hunches down and hisses, unlike the common "Just standing" thing most pets do. It has two attack animations that are very similar - a bite from the left and a bite from the right. Its special, Time Warp, causes a blink-like magic effect on the target.

Combat wise, Warp Stalkers are nice, if not optimal, tanks. They're (obviously) in the Tenacity tree, but their skill Time Warp isn't the best out there. It can, however, make a good PvP ability, or at least so I'd assume. I don't PvP.

Another pl0x?
