By the Warchief's decree I shipped out to Borean Tundra. Normally I wouldn't do this sort of thing, but mercenary jobs were getting low and I could use the gold. I was put to work immediately and as I was doing various odd jobs, I stumbled across these gentle giants of moths. It was strange to feel my interest piqued by them as most of the creatures that fight by my side are fierce beasts.
I decided to be on my way, taking care of the kobold menace as I was asked. There was a strange tugging on my sleeve, and as I turned to look, I was startled by coming face to face with one of the local moths. I tried shooing it away before it brought attention of my presence to the local kobolds, but to no avail; the creature would not leave me alone. Muttering under my breath, I loaded my gun in the hopes the beast would be scared away, only to alert the kobold I was scoping out. As it uttered a battle cry, I cursed. Before I could lift my gun to shoot it in the head, the moth had already darted over to the kobold and stuffed its mouth full of dust, shutting the creature up. A smirk lit up my face as I made the killing shot; it seems that I have gained a new friend.

Fae, as I named my new mothy friend, was soon to become one of my preferred travelling companions through the tundra. Her ability to fly provided me with a second set of eyes, and the more I watched her, the more I was able to learn that different movements of her body would signal various information that I might like to know, either about the landscape or potential enemies. Truly a fantastic creature to behold in the field.

As we bunkered down for a night, I took the time to study my new friend. Her eyes are the most brilliant emerald color and they stand out against her adorably rosy pink body, while her tan wings and antenna provide a contrast suiting to the lands where I found her.

One thing I would have never expected from such a gentle, quiet creature is the fierceness Fae brings with her when we fight. We were sent to Coldarra to help the red dragonflight stop the havoc the blues were trying to create (may not be much of a merc job, but you don't say no to dragons). At first the dragonkin and spellbinders laughed as they saw Fae coming for them. Their laughter then turned into cries of pain as she got dust in their eyes, noses, and mouths and gouged them with that horn of hers. Of course, they weren't so fond of being peppered with bullets either, but a sweet little moth trying to tear your guts out is a little more distracting, thankfully.

As it turns out, I'm more grateful then I thought I would be to have befriended Fae; she has certainly earned her place with my team.
