Special character names no longer permitted

The code didn't prevent using special characters, so people tended to do it anyway, but you could be reported for it. Just like having an obscene/offensive name.

Generally I'd report anyone that had more than one alt-character. If you had nothing BUT alt characters, you got reported for sure.

Thats the same name. The "first" is the way the "second" is actually pronounced. That funky "B" is not said as "bee"." That's what he meant.

So they are going to allow us to force level 1 name holders to be name changed so we can have the name right? half the time they haven't been on in months.

Sometimes if it's a lvl 1, you can put a ticket in to get the name freed up. If the first GM doesn't do it, put in another ticket! They can release a name if it's on a lvl 1 room that isn't played.

That's why it's being restricted to US servers. This rule doesn't apply to non-US servers, as has been mentioned.

English doesn't use them, so in theory, it shouldn't be an issue on English servers.

Plus there's a lot of people that arent from the US that play on US servers. What about all the spanish people too?

Thats what I thought. I don't want them to do this if its because people are lazy to use ctrl-click or copy/paste. Not that hard. Takes like two seconds.

At least I use one special character if I have to in my names. I love the name Himeko and it's taken on almost all the US servers I play on, so I had to use a funny "o" at the end, same with Mio and Chikane. I try my best to keep it at the end so that it doesn't make it too hard on people. Besides, I use the character map that is on all computers, so I honestly don't understand why people QQ about the characters, but then it makes me realize just how not everyone knows how to use their computers properly, meaning more than for just gaming.

Thats why there's the easy google.com to google "Accented Characters" then use ctrl C for copy and Ctrl V for paste.
