Just a Thought - BoA Mounts?

After getting my second ram and still no kodo on my main hunter last night a thought occured to me.. I have a ram sitting in my inventory rotting because I already know it. What would people think if certain mounts such as brewfest mounts and the various other holiday mounts were bind on account. By that I mean I could send my ram to another character on my account who may not have a mount.. Or perhaps I want the mount on a different character.

I honestly think its a good idea, I wouldnt recommend doing it with raid achievement mounts well not at first. It would have to be trial ran first to see how it went. Perhaps it could even be done for lootable mounts, for instance you've been farming TLPD on end and it was driving you insane so you took a break to level an alt. What if said alt was in Stormpeaks and TLPD spawns and you tag and kill him, well now you have the mount just not on the character you'd like to have it. Would it be a good idea to make it so you could send it to that character?

You wouldnt be able to sell the mounts however as they'd be bind on account, I just think overall it'd be a good idea for mount collectors and in the end cut back on the "Well I now have 3 rams.." that I keep seeing happen. Thoughts/Opinions?

I'd totally support this. I got the kodo on my druid and Lisaara...twice...when I had Jessi that could use and needed it.

I really like this idea... Not that I got my ram or kodo at all this year but... It would be nice. I'm at the point where on one server I have a few characters I'm leveling.. but my hunter is my main collector. So it would be nice if some of those things I could pass off to her if they happened to spawn while I was leveling someone else..

See thats what I thought, I remember running heroic strat in CoT all the time on my druid back in Wotlk and getting that bronze drake over and over because it got to the point that nobody needed it.. Well I love it and it got to the point where I literally had 4 of those drakes in my bags from winning them. I wanted to send them to various alts but ended up having to delete all of them because my druid got him her first run

I would love this and think it's especially justified on holiday loot, where you are limited in the number of attempts by the number of days. Nothing more frustrating than having a main collector, and seeing something you want for that toon drop for an alt. It's so bad that I actually refuse to run alts through the holiday events if there's a pet or mount my main wants, even if the alts need the gear from there.

You have my support fully on this. I'd actually have incentive to do the daily holiday events on *all* my characters if this were actually in effect.

Or why not just have the "barrel" BoA like they have the Satchels from CTA? Even that would be better.

Yeah for holiday mounts but not raid drops I don't think it should be for raid drops.

If they were drops, not via an achievement then that'd be ok, if it was a reward from an achievement like killing faction leaders or doing all the dungeon/raid achievements for a certain expansion then id be happy (though tbh i would love to only do achievements once on my strongest char and then send it to the char i really want it for but its more of a compromise for people who are all like NO NO NO BOA ACHIEVEMENT MOUNTS)

Id love to see this in place for mounts from daily quests (the White Bear Mount for example), rarespawn mounts (Time-Lost and Aeonaxx), dungeon drop mounts (not raids cause theres already enough competition), holiday mounts, and faction mounts (i still remember when people would put faction mounts in the AH and sell em for good gold). For the faction mounts, id at least have a restriction in that you need to be at least Honored with that faction to ride it (exalted to buy it if its not your racial of course), just to make us work a little bit :3

Damn yeah... BoA or vendor on capital cities so we'll be able to trade out doubles for new mounts/some other cool stuff.
Especially when u got 11 mounts drop on one toon for one brewfest as I had :O(

I only say not for raid ones as they are hard enough to get normaly we don't need more people needing on them for alts XD

^ agree completely its not -hard- to level alts (though when i level mine it feels like they arent growing fast enough) and mount farming content for raids is TBC and WotLK which is fairly easy to do in a small group now if people are geared enough

See thats what I meant, dont include raid drop mounts or achievement mounts. Perhaps rep mounts so you dont have to grind the rep out again unless you want it towards an achievement. But especially for holiday mounts the implemention of such a system would be beyond nice.. Including spawns like Aeonaxx and TLPD.

i cant see it as a 'way too far out' idea either cause the Satchels of Exotic Mysteries is BoA and it can contain mounts, but we'd need to get threads after threads of people agreeing with the idea on the WoW forums to convince blizz :<

The only issue it could open up is whether Blizzard is okay with everyone farming holiday mounts for all of their lvl 40 twinks... (and banking them for their lvl 1-39s)

I dont see it as being such an issue especially with Holiday mounts which arent exactly rare.. Well rare-ER I should say.

What about a limit of 1 win per day? Holidays run long enough that someone who wants the mount enough to take the time to spam run it can get the mount for at least one or two characters at least depending on RNG, how many ppl can/do roll, and how often you run successfully. When you have a mount that is the same speed (and say the holiday mount could fly, then one that was same speed and can fly), its more of a -want- then a -need-

I too, received multiples of the Kodo but no ram for my main. Then I got the ram on my toon that already had the ram.... >.< When I asked a GM if I could "swap" the Kodo for a Ram, they said they investigated but that type of trade is not available for the Kodo/Ram. Boo

For holiday mounts I'm totally all for this. Last year, I got the Headless Horsemans mount twice on my main, and this year with Brewfest I got a Kodo twice on my Shaman that I just had to delete from my bags... x_x

Personally, I don't think raid achievements or drops should be BoA. I don't know why, but maybe it's the thought of a cruddy 85 Death knight flying on a Corrupted Firehawk makes me want to rope.

I would love this! Not for achievement mounts (they're achievements for a reason, to commemorate the talent of that player on that character only, imo), but for RNG-based mounts, I'd love this. My alts have rams and kodos, low drop % mounts (Kara horse etc) - my main and mount collector doesn't.
