A little grumble.

Skarr was up and a guild-mate told me.

I head out there and some other hunter with a stupid non-RP name (on an RP server) is sitting there shooting at him. He starts going 'no, no, no' so I go 'All right' and just kind of moved back. I've had pets stolen and while it irks me to have some moron named after a mexican food get a nice pet, I'm not that much a jerk.

Well, 30 minutes later, he's died more than a dozen times and killed me and my friend because he would pull toward us, so the damn flame barrage thing would AOE us all. He goes 'f-- it. i dont want him'.

I take that as an okay, set up my macro and start taming. It's going perfectly smoothly and I'm 0.7 seconds from my tame...

And the jerk-face suddenly shoots him, interrupts my tame, feigns, and gets me killed because my Deterrence is, of course, down....

And by the time I get back, he has tamed Skarr apparently by copying me. Note, he never ASKED how and basically was just rude any time I said anything because he wanted the pet.

The jerk has the gall to run up to me as I'm staring in shock and frustration and go 'lolol. no gratz:D?'

Ugh, I was so furious I started crying. I know it's just a digital pet in a game, but that was just a horrendously nasty thing to do. I'd give him plenty of time, multiple deaths, never ONCE complained when he got me killed. And then he had to go do that....

That is really shitty, I'm sorry. Also can you report non-rp names? I would do that. ...I may or may not be a spiteful person, but I think he deserves that.

I'd be sure to report his douchbaggery behavior to whatever guild leader he was apart of as well Khi'jazi. If they are any sort of respectable guild they would kick him for acting like that. I know I would.

OMG, Khi, I'm so sorry! What a total douchebag! Like others said, definitely report him to Blizz and his Guild Leader. That is just unacceptable behavior! /hug

Idiots killed Anthriss again. Same faction idiots, who when asked to stop just lol'd even when I said I would pay each of them 100g, which is more than Anthriss drops. Sigh. Stupid people make me want to strangle this game.

When I was trying to tame Solix a druid and mage kept trying to kill him. I pst'd them and asked them nicely to stop so I could tame him and the druid demands 5000g to let me tame him. I was furious!! They kept trying to kill him and getting themselves killed then aggro'ing a bunch of mobs and bringing them to me to interrupt my taming. This went on for like half an hour. Finally they gave up and I tamed him but man, that was a crappy thing to do. And the kicker is they were freakin' Horde too! I know there are douchebags and nice people in both factions but on a pvp server a non hunter of the other faction killing a hunters tame is sort of fair game, douchey, but fair game nonetheless. I just can't believe it was other Horde trying to do that to me! Very disappointing!

Well, I thought about reporting him, but honestly, I doubt it would have done much good.

Knowing the way it works, I probably would have gotten a form letter saying "we'll address this, we just can't tell you how" and he might have gotten a warning not to be a jerk. And that is just a 'maybe'.

There will be other Skarrs, I'm sure, but it was just really, really heart-breaking at the time.

I have heard that blizzard takes the RP servers pretty seriously and have been known to ban people for being "out of character" or having non-rp serious sounding names, so maybe reporting him would help.
If nothing else, even if nothing gets done, it sends ONE MORE message to Blizzard that we're sick of this.
The more complaints, the more they will notice it, and maybe just maybe fix eventually.

Last ticket I got a response to, had a survey attached to fill out, and at the end in the comments section I said "For the love of God, please fix the claiming system so hunters won't get pets stolen mid-tame! I am sick of watching hunter pets die while I'm trying to tame it because some jacka$$ has to get his rocks off by ruining MY fun.. I am actually considering cancelling my account because of the lack of respect by other players for the hunter's pets. Please fix this!"

I know that Blizzard *does* take Non-RP names seriously on RP servers *IF* they are actually reported. Specially if it is an offending one. Its just usually people don't report them. I know I for one always report even slightly offensive names. I just dont see a point for people to create their characters with offensive or even disgusting names. Its childish.

(We had a Male Dwarf Paladin in Wrath, Level 80 on my PVP server, running around with the name Papsmear. I think enough women finally reported him till he had to get it changed. Why in the world some guy thought it was amusing to run around with that name...)

Hmm, with that in mind, I will report next time. It's probably too late to report now. I'm sure Blizzard would give me an odd look for putting in a ticket for something that happened days ago.

I do tend to report offensive names, or names that are clearly from lore characters, such as "Thrallol" and such. And I reported a paladin named "Pronography", who later spent a ton of time complaining about it in Trade. I really can't understand why people think those kinds of names are funny, RP server or otherwise.

I've reported people for offensive names a bunch of times. It's stupid and annoying. Also people who insist on being offensive in trade chat.

What happened to me is just people being jerks, but YOU can report yours for griefing because they were actually interrupting your gameplay and being outright rude, and even worse, they did it for HALF AN HOUR! Also, that druid must have sucked. I've ACCIDENTALLY killed Solix on my druid with roots....

My subscription lapsed at the end of June due to financial concerns, with no luck in what I sought before then.

Still not back in the game. It pains me to think how many, MANY chances to get him I've since missed...

skitterflame was a pita the first time i tried to tame him,but cake the 2nd time.Why? you ask? Scare Beast. A useless talent id never used before until now.Scare Beast and tame away....no need to kite or freezing trap...10 seconds later,the prettiest spider(even prettier then Deth,imo...was mine!

On Topic: the times i was griefed trying to get Skoll are too numerous to list,literally over 25 times,mostly by the same paladin,so I'll just say what everyone else says,,,don't give up!! not for a second....don't give them the satisfaction of beating you...ever!! Skoll is very happy with me,btw!:) lol!!

After reading all these posts, my heart goes out to you guys that had such a hard time.

It also made me realise how easy I have it. The Hunter community on my main server (Warsong) is pretty tight-knit (We Brazilians have to stick together with one another, when the rest of WoW seems to hate us ), even if I haven't rehomed a pet yet, I'm always willing to give advice and help out on other hunters camping.

Best of luck to you guys that are still after your dream rares.
