Pandara language?
Pandara are going to be added in, let's assume they are going to be able to speak "Pandaren" When they choose alliance or horde, they will obviously gain common or orcish respectively, but will they be able to speak Pandaren still? For those of you who don't know undead could originally speak common, which led to harrasment issues and etc, which is why they speak "gibberish" now. will the new Pandaren be able to communicate with each other if one is horde and one is alliance? Or will they forget their ancestrial language when they pick a faction and only be able to speak that?

Re: Pandara language?
I was wondering this to, I think that yes they would be able to but only in non- in game rps.
but for in the game of WoW they would "forget" their language

It'll be one of those game-mechanics-trumps-lore things because there's enough of the playerbase that's too immature to treat crossfaction communication as anything but an excuse to trashtalk.
But, judging from the forums, enough of those whiny little bastards are butthurt and quitting that "the worst expansion ever" might turn out to have the biggest improvement to the community.

My thoughts as well. I have a feeling a lot of the insufferable types might leave and the game will be so much nicer without them.Wykea wrote:But, judging from the forums, enough of those whiny little bastards are butthurt and quitting that "the worst expansion ever" might turn out to have the biggest improvement to the community.

Re: Pandara language?
I'd like them to keep thier racial language and be able to use it to speak with alliance/horde pandereans. Yes, there will probably be the "asshats" who will initially abuse this, but eventually it will probably get to be as notable as a lv 1 trade troll. "don't feed the trolls" (dont respond to asshats, eventually they get bored and bugger off)
Or Blizzard might consider a Dialect shift...Kind of like an accent, where the language maybe has still some common letters but the rest is gibberish cross factions.

Re: Pandara language?
that kind of idea wont work, undead were the asshats back in the day and while you could ignore them it was the same thing over and over, i dont think they will be able to communicate after their factions changeMakoes wrote:I'd like them to keep thier racial language and be able to use it to speak with alliance/horde pandereans. Brings up another point, lets say youre under level 10 and make friends with another pandaren, but you each choose different factions, are they removed from your friend's list?

The lifting of the language barrier between factions is well overdue. If someone's gonna grief you, he will make a level 1 alt on your faction and grief. What do you do with? That's it, report. If he griefs you straight through the opposing faction char, you'd do the same - report, problem solved.

Re: Pandara language?
The problem with the Undead was that they could speak to ALL of the Alliance. If Pandaren have their own language, they can only cross-faction communicate with other pandaren. That couldn't be nearly as bad as the Undead-common situation.
