vultros is finally mine!

So i've been trying to get vultros and couldn't find him, spent hours, running around westfall with my hunter and not a single sighting.
I give up for the day. This morning I got up, decided to level up my new druid a lil and what do you know, running to saldean's farm and there he is.
Logged out & grabbed my hunter, who of course was in ironforge LoL.
Ran my tail off getting to westfall, and there he was just hanging out.
Poof mine!! mwhahahahaha lol
Now i have 15 rares and i'm only lvl 21 .. can't wait until i'm leveled to get some of the real nice ones out there.
I had one question, other than the look, do rares do anything special/extra?

no rares don't do anything more than their common counterparts (only exception is spirit beasts but their whole family is rare)
but rare collecting is fun i did it on my hunter for a while till i relized i wasnt clicking with the rares so i keept the ones that i loved and let the rest go

When I first made my hunter I planned to only tame rare or unique skins....till I realized how many other hunters have the same idea! It kinda negates the whole thing when every hunter you see is running around with their "rares". Now I just tame pets I like or click with. Some of my favorite pets are non rares like my bear, White Lady, or my spikey green raptor, Apple. I do have my favorite rares like Loque, Anthriss, and Deth though. If you like rares, go for it, but don't overlook all the amazing other beasts in the game.

Grats on Vultros though. He's pretty and I just might go for him on my baby hunter!

thanks, i love the bluish tinge to him, one of the reasons I wanted him.
I never thought of how common getting rares only as pets might be lol.
I have to agree some of the rares look awesome, but some of the commons do as well. I'll have to keep that in mind.
I did have 1 other question..

What makes the best tank? best dps?
The last time i played a hunter was before burning crusade so i'm a lil rusty lol.
I remember bear and .. maybe turtle if i'm not mistaken made good tanks for the hunter...

its all up to you ive found the mty raptor does more dps (only cuz i love him so much) and my turtles my favorate tank but you can use whatever you like most to fit the roles you need to preform

The tenacity pets have the best tanking talents and the ferocity pets have the best dps talents. I'm pretty sure all pets have the same baseline dps but it's the talents and special abilities that determine their roles. However Bears and turtles are generally accepted as the best tank pets since they have damage reduction abilities. But I have tenacity pets that I've spec'd for dps and they do fine. You can use pretty much any pet while questing, doing dailies etc. When you get misdirect, mend pet and their glyphs it makes soloing with whatever pet you like even easier. Solo'ing elite's or old world raids would probably be best with a tank pet but I've used a cat to solo Molten Core just to see how she'd do. She wasn't as good as my bear but she held her own. I had the mend pet glyph though and used mend pet a lot on her. I probably would stick with a tank spec'd tenacity pet though for solo'ing anything tougher.

i really do like the spiders web ability, but theres something about having a big ol polar bear beatin down a mob that appeals to me LMAO
