Re: Random Pet Challenge [v3.0]

here i am tameing him, since he's a croc, he normally under water, but you dont really have to worry bout breath, he's a
simple tame for a higher lv, tho i would suggest an ice trap for those near his lv

he has a simple swim, just (or nearly like) a normal croc

(tamed)
he does an occasional "croc" sound, and it seems he doesn't really have a major idle move, but he just mostly swishes his tail around
i would suggest, that if you want his coloring, go after a lower lv croc like him, it's not worth the camping for him
re-roll?

Re: Random Pet Challenge [v3.0]
My first challenge was a Black Bear. I didnt want to get just any plain bear so i went looking for a rare and got Ursol'lok.
Took a few minutes to find him but here is the tame which went very simple although i almost lost an arm! =/

I decided to take him outside of Firelands to test him on a molten giant. Hes a tank pet and held aggro very well with his array of moves seems like he was good at holding multiple mobs as well with his thunderstomp skill.

After fighting through the fire we decided to take a swim to cool off when Demi saw a school of fish and tried to catch us some dinner!

His best move in my opinion was Thunderstomp, it reminded me of my warrior's thunderclap.

Although he was a good pet ive just never been a big fan of bears because to me they are one of the "common" pets you always see people with since they are one of the first you usually see as a hunter. I think ill hang onto DemigodJR for a while since he was a rare. I named him DemigodJR because his original name Ursol'lok is a mix of 2 names from the "War of the Ancients".
I had some fun doing this So lets try agian.
For now DemigodJR and I will be napping away trying to keep warm from this east coast snow storm!

Re: Random Pet Challenge [v3.0]

Swamp of Sorrows was one of my least favourite places as a lowbie because of the patrolling Horde guards. I kept accidentally flagging myself for PvP, and I suck at PvP, so I ended up leaving SoS all together. This time, I was there on a flying mount, so those guards were the least of my worries. Between receiving fried chicken from my grandmother and letting cats see outside, I flew out to Swamp of Sorrows and attained myself a crab. I found him inside the cave along the ridge south and east of Stonard, a decent way into the cave. Habit had me trapping him to tame him, but in the end, I had myself a crab. The name I gave him, which I gave him after killing the Horseman, was obvious.
What I couldn't get over was how bony he looked - and I don't mean skinny as much as I mean pointy. His legs looked a little like flying buttresses without the grace that a flying buttress needs. And sure, he has claws, but with all those spikes, I really just wanted to spin him in a circle and pinball him off my enemies.
ANYWAY. With those observations made, and well forewarned about how Pin could be a problem, he and I went out questing - and Pin really was the problem I'd heard about.
But here's what I got to see as he attacked:
Name: Melentari
Level: 85
Exotics: Yep, I have a BM offspec.
Restrictions: None that I need a group to get to on-level. I just don't have the resources. Lowbie dungeons are fine.
Rares: Gondria, Olm the Wise, Magria, Ban'thalos, Terrorpene, Ankha
Honourable Mentions: Ghost Sabre, Alystros the Verdant Keeper (yes, there's an owl with his skin, but taming him was an adventure)
Melentari and Tevildo - she tamed him a long time ago.
Re: Random Pet Challenge [v3.0]
I initially had a hard time finding one and kept running into the green ones everywhere. Finally I saw a blue one and hit tame. They are found in the center of Zangarmarsh. Obviously taming this lvl 60ish pet is easy at 85.

I named her Bella the Blue Sporebat! She's quite pretty and is really a rainbow of different colors dominated by various shades of blue.

Her underside is where the rainbow of colors is. She has her little dangly pink jewelry things too. They remind me of earrings!:

It kinda looks like she's hugging me here

Now on to the fighting!! The sporebat's special ability is Spore Cloud. It reduces casting speed of all areas within 10 yards of the sporebat. The problem is that you can see it and it's easy to walk out of. The debuff does not remain after the mob or player moves away. Not bad if you sic the sporebat on something but it kind of defeats the aoe purpose, IMO.

When running she has a very graceful kind of lope through the air:

She moves the exact same way through water:

I liked the Blue Sporebat a lot more than the brown but not enough to keep her, unfortunately. So Bella and I took in a light show and then I released her back to her home in Zangarmarsh. Bye, Bella!

Re: Random Pet Challenge [v3.0]
The only tameable black foxes live in the Redrige Mountains and are known as forest stalkers between level 18 and 19. First thing I noticed was, that these foxes seem to be the only ones not affected by the "tinyfication" of some pets (like the Baradin Foxes or the ponies in the area around Tarren Mill). Second thing was, that this fox I tamed didn't grow after taming, he kept his size (but more about that later).
I named my Tauren's new friend Sinopa, meaning something like spirit of the fox in a native american language. Here she is after taming looking cute:
Appearance:
Sinopa has a greyish to black fur, with a white throat and a white tip of her tail. This makes a nice contrast and suits her very well. I was always quite fond of foxes but always only saw the withe ones or Ashtail around in Orgrimmar. I already have a fox with Larkania, a red one called Cream. I didn't actually know that there even were black foxes and always thought that Ashtail was the darkest until I met them with an Alliance toon while questing. So after the quite long journey you have to make as Horde to get out there to Redrige, I was the proud owner of this beauty. I almost immediately felt connected to her. Sad thing for me is her size. I read about several people "complaining" how big the foxes are but I really have to disagree. The look fragile and tiny next to every cat/wolf/raptor/whatever except maybe for dogs. I took some screenshots of Sinopa before and after taming her and she didn't grow an inch. She looks really small compared to my Tauren. I KNOW that foxes are not huge in RL, but since when are wow pets like their rl models (wasps, beetles anyone?). I'd really love to see Sinopa grow a bit, just that she won't look like a mini-pet companion next to Larkania. But apart from my "size-issues" with her, I really like her model. She always seems to smile and be eager to do something silly and/or cute.
Animations:
Like you can see in the pic above, Foxes have the same sniffing-the-ground-animation Hyenas and wolfes already share. She also does the scratching:
Then one thing I never use on my foxes: "Play" aka "fox dancing like a puppy wanting a treat" (or shaman in wolf form...). It looks kind of cute, but why did they give this animation to foxes and not dogs? I never really understood the reasoning behind it it doesn't even affect the fox in any positive kind like the ablility of the bears (I think it now helps them to regain health, Petopia still says happines...).
Sinopa's swim animation is basically a dog-like paddle, like most of the four-legged animals in WoW have.
Fighting:
Sinopa is a ferocity pet, so her damage output is very well. I like taking my fox to dungeons with me when the "normal" buffs from cat and wolf are already covered and the "tailspin" ability reduces the damage on the tank a bit, because the enemies attack speed will be reduced by 20%.
This is a pic of her ability. I think it looks rather silly that her head is stuck inside the cloud, but well...
Her attack animation is basically lunging at the target and biting it, this is a nice shot of her trying to eat the dummy in Orgrimmar:
Conclusion:
I really like foxes and Sinopa grew on me. I had her out while doing the achievment with the treats when I stumbled over Rak'Shiri. I released her for him and now I regret it. I let Rak'Shiri go again, his blue just didn't fit my nature-bond Tauren and now I'm thinking about getting her back. Writing the review about her made me realize how much I like her. I think I need to spend time with my other fox now and then decide if I keep him or get Sinopa back

Re: Random Pet Challenge [v3.0]

Idle animations. Apparently, he likes to sniff the ground and has fleas. I think his "scratching for fleas" animation is adorable:

Dean near a pumpkin. Shows his back and side pretty well, but he is so incredibly transparent that you can see it from any angle:

Dean and Sara:

Of course, I love Karoma. He is gorgeous and is a great BM dps pet, like all spirit beasts. I especially love that he is a wolf. I had a major hard-on for Karoma when he was first introduced and camped him for weeks! I found Sambas about 8 times during my Karoma camp and...am ashamed to say I killed him once when I couldn't find him a home (and I hate him). Karoma was worth the long camp time and I adore him. I didn't take any combat shots or swim shots, but he has the same ones as normal wolves or saber worgs. Doggie paddle and bitey type combat animations. Tame Karoma if you can. He is definitely worth it! I think Dean was the perfect name for him, too. At least for me, since I'm basing him off a hunter character from a TV show and the character has kind of a wolfish attitude. His appearance looking like a shaman's ghost wolf form is appealing too, if you like that. I have a shaman, and its almost like having my shaman at my side! So, tame your own shaman today!

Re: Random Pet Challenge [v3.0]
He does look just like enhancement shaman ghost wolves, however, and funny story about that... So when I do play my 85 hunter (which is hardly ever anymore), I've had her Skoll out with her doing most things, until a guildy decided he wanted to do a Sunwell run to try and get a hunter in the guild the legendary bow (I happened to volunteer to be that hunter at the time), and I decided to give Skoll a break for Karoma. Now, up to this point I had been playing my enhancement shaman pretty heavily.Sarantha wrote:He looks almost just like a shaman's ghost wolf form, just different colors.
We're running through Sunwell and clearing trash when I see my Karoma dash into the mobs and suddenly my brain is like "Where the fuck did that shaman ghost wolf come from? I'm not on my shaman." Granted, it was well after 3AM by this point but after I caught myself and realized that my pet was not a shaman's ghost wolf, I felt pretty stupid. XD
Anyway, less drivel from me and more rolls for you all.
