Re: Just 5 pets.
I guess it depends on how pet skills are in MoP, but I would really love to use my warpstalker and scorpid as Ferocity pets. I tend to love "tanky" type pet models, so more of my stables would get used, that's for sure.

Tenacity seagulls.
That is all.

Re: Just 5 pets.
I use only one pet primarily, and Emti the Brown Beetle will be staying in the Tenacity Tree. I'll probably actually use my Ashtail as soon as I can make it turn into a Cunning Pet!
I friggin love the Cunning tree, but Emti has already saved multiple dungeons what with his amazing turtle-clone ability and awesome +heal% talent. Hence why he earned the name Emti. Not to mention he's too chill a guy to be cunning and dubious. Which reminds me, I need to nab a red fox and name it Weasel. Stupid RP ideas.

Hmm well from what I see:
Spirit Beast - Ferocity (like always my pve/raid buddy)
Spirit Beast - Tenacity (self healing tank, yes please)
Devilsaur - Cunning (for PvP if I ever decided to PvP)
Warp Stalker - Ferocity (just because I like warp stalkers!)
And... well that'd probably be it for me. XD

Re: Just 5 pets.
honestly, I was horrified when I first saw the title, because I thought they were removing all our stable slots, but luckily not.
I think I am going to rotate more or less between all of my pets as I can spec them all in ferocity. I never liked cunning, it feels weak to say the least, and I love the aspect of having my ferocities as tenacities.

Re: Just 5 pets.
A lot of my pets will actually be going cunning (especially my fox... I can't believe they weren't cunning to begin with). While ferocity pets may be marginally better in terms of DPS, as a raiding MM hunter the difference honestly isn't noticeable, and I love the extra push cunning pets can give when the boss is at low health.
I'll still be rotating all my pets, but if I had to narrow my team down to five, it'd likely be like this:
Antiquus - ferocity wolf
Dualis - ferocity core hound
Lanterna - cunning spirit beast
Vultros - cunning carrion bird
And then a tenacity pet. I'm not sure who I'd pick as a tank.

Re: Just 5 pets.
For me and my 5 pets (maybe six if they add "call pet 6") :
Ember, Haunched Cat- Staying Ferocity
Charcole, Black Horde Scorpid- Tenacity
Morrigan, Blue Horde Scorpid- Ferocity. I would LOVE for my Blue Scorpid to come with me on Dungeons and raids!
Calamus, Green Lava spider- Tenacity
Kirix NEEDS to be Tenacity!
Ocean, blue D-hawk- Staying Cunning. When I pvp, I will use her ^_^
That's all I got for now, and I am seriously hoping Hydras will become tameable.

Re: Just 5 pets.
Ferocity Devilsaur
Tenacity spirit beast
Ferocity spirit beast
Ferocity worm
Ferocity Chimaeras
it'll be fun to mix and match different types to see what helps more in whatever situation so far this will probably be it

Re: Just 5 pets.
It depends on what they'll do with the pets, honestly, but if we can choose our pet types and they are set up like they are now?
Ferocity
Lethe (Gezzerak)
Tephras (Orange Outland Raptor)
Sitri (Dishu)
Leraje (Green Rune Hound) or Sirrush (Blue Old World Wind Serpent)
Tenacity
Judecca (Deathmaw)
Granted, most of this list are already part of the Ferocity family (and it's subject to change). I'm not a HUGE fan of Cunning since I don't PvP much, I only use them for speed runs on retro content due to having points sunk into Mobility. If Blizzard also does something regarding their family talents (Ex: Removing them entirely or not making one pet family more "mandatory"), then I'd definitely take my demon dog over my wind serpent.
But, without contest, my warp stalker, Lethe, would be by my side ALL THE TIME if I could make her Ferocity.

Re: Just 5 pets.
Just for our pets, or for everyone? We're already buffing melee players more than ourselves if we have TSA, I hate to think they would take even more of our buffs away.Skeeter wrote:keep in mind they are more than likely going to revamp pet abilities yet again
in the recent Dev MoP Q&A they said they would like to clean up the buff/debuffs by removing the junky ones like +bleed dmg, 3% dmg, etc
but for my dwarf, Rhino, Bear, Boar, and ill be as happy as a cucumber

Re: Just 5 pets.
My flaming armored boar would be ferocity. My wind serpent would be ferocity. Rest depends on what they do with exotics.
I know why I'm smiling, but why is everyone else??

Re: Just 5 pets.
Hmm, yes, boars. forgot about them. (Never have a reason to bring a tenacity pet to raids).
The other thing we won't know for a long time is how they redo the pet talents + how they redo the buffs. If they indeed remove a lot of the buffs/debuffs as they have indicated, and some of those pets get more of the standard buffs, it might make some of the lesser-used pets more useful. I'd love to have a ferocity rhino or boar that are providing crit or stam.

Re: Just 5 pets.
Right now, assuming I don't use one of the new pets they'll surely add:
Red warpstalker: Ferocity. DOES NOT look tenacity and will not be tenacity in MoP if Blizz is correct.
Ban'thalos: Will stay the same spec. Ferocity.
Blue Madexx: Cunning. Scorpids do not look like tanks either.
Aotona: Ferocity. While he doesn't look ferocious, he certainly doesn't look tenacity or cunning either.
Chromaggus: Tenacity. He looks too "heavy" to be anything but a tank.

Part of Dark Magics, lvl 25 Horde guild, casual, helpful, don't raid, mostly help people and hunt pets.
Part of Dynasty, lvl 25 Alliance guild, casual and hardcore (your choice, no one forces you to raid, but you can), very helpful
Come on over if interested (Runetotem US, Horde name Sarantha, Ally name Ellysetta or Valeraud)

Re: Just 5 pets.
I couldn’t pick just five pets. As it is I’m actively using: chimera (2) silithid (2) owl (2) cat (3) wolf (2) core hound (1) spider (1) turtle (1) and sometimes when I’m running with a magic based arena team or something, I bring a wind serpent.
Pvp set
Silithid
Wasp
chimera
Spider
Wind Serpent
Core hound
owl
Pve
Wolf
Cat
Chimera
Core hound
Soloing
Silithid
Cat
Turtle
Core hound
With the option to choosing the spec of your pet I plan on using more combos. Such as a ferocity worm to try out for pve, or perhaps even a spirit beast tank for soloing. If anything this will double the amount of pets I use depending on the ability+buff+spec combos.
But if I was forced to choose….
Worm/chimera; ferocity (for aoe)
Spirit beast: tenacity (tank with an extra heal for me or itself)
Wasp: ferocity (need the extra damage for pvp)
Core hound: ferocity. (if I’m popping hero I probably need the damage)
And I’m not sure what my fifth would be. Silithid tenacity for its own stam buff, ferocity cat for pve or my good old turtle tank.

Re: Just 5 pets.
I don't use just 5 pets, not only does it depend on whether I'm soloing or grouping, but when I'm soloing one of my slots is reserved for random pets from the stable. I do always have my Beetle and Silithid with me, and I don't see that changing. I will probably release my Ravager (I've always thought their model was poorly designed). I will probably experiment with tenacity Chimaera, ferocity Worms, ferocity Shale Spiders, ferocity Crocolisks, and ferocity Scorpids.
