So hugely relieved.

Terrible scare yesterday where I got letters telling me that one of my sons was denied coverage for his speech therapy and the other was 'still pending'. When I got the letters it was too late to call the place, so I called first thing this morning.

Just found out there was a minor paperwork error, the error was on the part of the therapy place and that they'll see him anyway because it was their fault, even if they can't get it fixed. Oh, and that we don't have to make payments since (again), their fault, even if they can't get the coverage taken care of.

Given that when the boys were tested they used words like 'extremely delayed language development' and 'speech retardation' this is a huge weight off my shoulders to know they're still going to get help.

Good to hear and good job getting it straightened out - there is no child advocate like a loving parent. :)

Friend who shares the same birthday with me gave me a Guardian Cub as an early birthday gift. I found some stuff to give him in return. I love giving gifts. :D

In American English, fanny doesn't mean female genitalia, but rather...what's the British slang?...arse, bum?

Yes, very true! Of course a hundred years ago, it didn't have the slang definitions it does today, and people did actually name their daughters Fanny--it was a diminutive form of Frances.

on topic: EEEeee--took a break from Uldum dig sites, and am now in the process of solving Blessing of the Old God. My transformation is almost complete!

Yep ^_^ been giving him his adult food and a quarter tablet of Vitamin B12 ground up in his wet food twice a day (waiting an hour between giving him his zantac so he doesnt barf it up, he did already cause i wanted to see if he could handle food without it due to how expensive it is for such a tiny bottle), hes been going to litter box fine, he's happy and alert and been eating everything in his bowl

Now for the reason why i came to the happy thread lol.... just got home from working at Cinemazoo, i said id help volunteer today and i thought id be cleaning cages all day but one of the workers dragged me to her job sites and i became her assistant in the presentations. I have no public skills, i had no idea anything about the animals i was gonna be handling, and for 8 hours straight we were at 2 birthday parties or driving around to the locations of the parties (and an hour long clean/put away animals and pens when we got to the center) and it was AWESOME! I worked with 3 snakes (salmon belly boa, albino milk corn snake, and one other that i forget), an angora lionhead persian rabbit, a skink (forget what kind, but she was absolutely massive), hedgehogs, striped and rose tarantulas (which today i found are extremely cuddly soft), hissing cockroaches, some kind of leaf insect, a snapping turtle, a tortise, a box turtle, ferrets, newt, leapord gecko, some kind of large frog, bearded dragon, emperor scorpion, mmmm.... i thiiiink thats it.....

i wish i could remember the skink and the other snake tho lol, but omfg ive been terrified of tarantulas and i had to handle all the animals which meant those creepy crawlies and i sucked it up, wrapped my hand around the tarantulas (one by one of course) and they're really, really soft.. it was really really fluffy and soft and adorable like omg, i couldnt believe how cool they were! And i loved playing with the snakes, they were a blast, the skink was damn heavy but such a sweetheart, and the scorpion was so fear factor with that stinger and claws but it just happily sat there in my hand. Ferrets as always were a hoot, i got cuts all over one arm from the angora's back claws, they're too long and it was a bit skittish.

Snapping turtle was fine, he liked to show off his mouth a lot, the amphibians, gecko, bearded dragon, and all the snakes were neutral, cockroaches were hyper, hedgehogs were a round spiky ball and hissing a lot, they didnt like the cameras much. Tortise kept running around backwards, it was weird, she didnt want to move forwards for the life of us, the turtle flailed its arms a lot cause it wanted to go on solid land (they are a burrowing species). I had so much frigign fun and from my 4th day doing presentations and on, for every presentation i assist i get paid! I can make a fortune by christmas time if i work as many as i can :D

Nice! My cat Loki's on a pill for thyroids, and it's made all the difference - he went from skinny, lethargic and weak back to solid, fluffy and playful.

That's quite a fascinating menagerie of critters they have you caring for. I don't think I could get into most of those personally (rabbits/ferrets, sure no problem, turtles eh, rest - no ty!), but hey to each his/her own - even for those of us who'd prefer it behind a sheet of glass (preferably about a dozen layers or so... of plate glass...), it's still good to be able to see them all for educational purposes. :D

I just got motivated to level my jewelcrafter hunter when I read a post about how some guy made over 100k prospecting ores and cutting them. It's going to be a lot of cut gems to get there, but still. She is stuck at level 72, currently reached the cap for jewelcrafting at that level, but I'd love to play her again.

The twins are showing progress with speech therapy. The therapists themselves have trouble seeing it (the twins are getting bored and refusing to cooperate lately), but I'm seeing it at home.

Instead of just handing me their cup and expecting me to get them water, they're handing me the cup and telling me that it's empty or asking for water. They greet me with 'Good morning!' when I get them up, without any prompting from me. They're starting to tell me (finally!) when they need their diaper changed.

'Thank you', 'please', 'you're welcome' and 'bless you' have always been part of their speech, but they're starting to use them more often and more appropriately now. They say 'Thank you' in gratitude and 'you're welcome' in return for gratitude, instead of interchanging the two.

I know that speech coming late is common for twins, but it's still gratifying that they're finally starting to speak more than Twinglish.

Blind hunter is blind. I just read this, brightened up my day a little.

"Today, I got shot at. Not by police, but by a hunter. While at work. Driving a garbage truck. How the hell a hunter mistook an orange-clad garbageman in a truck for a deer is beyond me. FML"
