Low(er) DPS as BM?

yes, crit is our #1 secondary stat (after hit cap). i meant stacking haste over mastery, and recently BM and SV are going high haste. don't know the exact plateaus off the top of my head, but i'll look again and post later.

the haste plateau for the 1.33s CS is 1974 haste rating with 3/3 pathing and the 10% haste buff

did some quick calculations, and with my gear (382), i can convert about 700 crit rating to haste to get me to 1974 haste while maintaining 29% crit chance. for those with a few more pieces of heroic gear this haste plateau is doable, with even less loss to crit. been having crap drops in FL the past few weeks.

i guess its more accurate to say, as BM hunters get geared up they are stacking more haste than mastery

but yeah, the sic'em talent fix has cost BM a nice chunk of dps, comfirmed by Bullettime further down in the same BM guide.

Wait, what was changed with Sic 'Em? I thought there was just a focus & Careful Aim fix & nerf? If I missed something with Sic 'Em that might be it.

on the WHU sites, read the comments at the bottom too, some ppl are saying 1-3K dps loss after the fix.

seems to be a combination of low pet focus and the pet's inability to get back up over 50 focus causing the pet to not be able to use Wild Hunt, a slight dps loss for MM/SV but a bigger dps loss for BM (seems 2/2 WH is dps loss and 1/2 WH is dps gain. not sure) and hunters not respeccing into Sic em after the fix causing a greater loss of dps. and there's mention of Rabid not auto casting as soon as its off cd, kinda like the curse of elements ability w/ wind serpents.

The sic 'em bug was pets would gain focus when you as the hunter gained a stat change (like a trinket proccing). When this was fixed it hurt all specs, but of course it hurt BM dps the hardest.

Is this different than what I'd mentioned as the "pet focus bug," then? I knew that pets seemed to be full focus, and that it was fixed, but was it related to Sic 'em then, or is this a second, separate bug?

i'm a bit confused after reading all the posts.

i believe the CA nerf was maybe like a 500dps loss, but its mostly a meter padding talent imho.

before the fix, you didn't need to spec into sic'em b/c pet stayed full focus. people that didnt respec after the fix to pick up sic'em lost about 1K dps as MM/SV and about 2K dps as BM. those that did spec into sic'em still showed about a 1k dps loss.

the combination of the focus fix, and the way sic'em works (how the tooltip is written and how it is suppose to work is in question), is supposedly causing pets to stay below 50 focus and not being able to get back up into wild hunt. therefore, speccing our pets into 2/2 WH is a dps loss, while 1/2 WH is a dps increase.
