Corehound issue
I normally raid as BM and for boss fights I have Gir (formerly Chromaggus) out. We do have a shaman, but generally use Gir for Ancient Hysteria so that the shammy can keep focused on keeping tanks n alive n such. It also gives us a backup in case the shaman accidentally ends up dead, himself. This works out well most of the time.
However, on more than one occasion, Gir has let loose with Ancient Hysteria without me telling him to and for the life of me, I can't figure out why. At first, I thought perhaps it was some errant keybinding, so went through and made sure to un-bind all but the keys I actually use. I basically only have two: pet attack and passive. That didn't help.
It was suggested that perhaps the autocast setting for an ability that a pet I'd had out before Gir was somehow stuck 'on.' I dunno about that, especially since Ancient Hysteria can't autocast. Still, before raiding, I'd make sure to turn off any autocasting on a non-Gir pet I might have out and dismiss it. I've even gone so far as to log out afterwards and sometimes fully exit the game and log back on before summoning Gir. That's still not fixed it.
The issue seems to be random and so far as I've noticed *only* occurs on boss fights. Some nights it'll happen more than once. Sometimes only once. Most of the time, not at all. When it does happen, it's usually near the beginning of the fight. I feel embarrassed and kind of like an idiot when Beth'tilac scoots up into her web, I run over to kill some spiderlings and suddenly AH goes off and is essentially wasted.
Has anyone else run into this? I hate apologizing for Gir's 'premature lust-ination' as a raid member put it. The rest of the raid is understanding and some do joke about it (that's okay Gir, we can just cuddle) but I really want to figure out how to put an end to it. Some nights I'll swap to another pet and just let the shammy handle Bloodlust, but on nights when he can't make it, it's really nice to have Gir's 'petlust.'

Re: Corehound issue

I'd definitely agree with trying another core hound and seeing if it happens.

Might be specific NPC IDs or just a glitch upon tame?

Kurasu, I know what you mean about how it can he hard to cast AH. Sometimes it takes a couple seconds of trying in order to get it to go off with the gcd constantly getting in the way. Since I don't have it keybound, I have to click it, too.
I've gone through my keybindings a few times to make sure there's nothing there that'd cast it. I'm pretty darned sure there isn't, unless there's some secret, intricate combo that calls a pet bar button. Y'know, I may try rearranging Gir's pet bar to see if that affects anything.
I dunno. Maybe it actually is a bug that only happens to Gir. I rather hope not. I don't know if/when I'd be able to get into BWL again and re-tame Chromaggus.

Re: Corehound issue
More than once I've received responses along the lines of "Weird, this seems like a new bug we haven't discovered before, we'll get our QA team on it!". Sometimes it's a more basic "we already know about it" response, but you never know until you try.
Re: Corehound issue
I have had other pets however that have cast their specials on entering combat without autocast being on - can't recall specific examples at the moment but I'm certain I've seen it and thought "how the hell did that happen?" I have no UI addons installed and have no macros or keybindings that include pet spells at all so it couldn't have been one of those.
I get a lot of weird bugs, especially pet related ones, and often my game crashes with error messages so I always assumed there was something wrong with my own installation somehow - running the WoW repair seems to cure it for a while.
It's probably just an uncommon bug - could possibly be related to your own installation of wow, have you tried fixing or reinstalling WoW on your PC?

Re: Corehound issue
My first thought was a macro. My second thought is how do you play? I generally have everything keybound and play just using my keyboard most of the time, weaving my attacks through that. My brother on the other hand has everything set up in a certain way and clicks all of his attacks with his mouse. If you are clicking, is AH too close to one of your basic or first attacks and you are accidentally hitting it?
If you want to tame another Core Hound and test to see if it is just your Chromaggus.. look through your stables for a common skinned pet and abandon it (as it would be much easier to get again then something hard to get like a rare or Chromaggus himself)? After you test it out abandon the new core hound and go get your old pet back.
