Re: BM Raiding Spec?
I'd be an aggro machine if I was MM, since I can pull some nice damage if I try and do my shot rotations right.

Everything looks good to me - I certainly don't see anything that would make me think "WTF?"
Keep an eye on your passive armor pen...I think you're coming up on the cusp of where BM should start gemming for it, if you're inclined to do so.

^My spec. My pet is also specced a little different. I think most hunters swap 1 or two points in their BM spec to suit their playstyle. As long as the core is the same, it should work

3 points in Frenzy is sufficient to guarantee a nearly 100% uptime on the proc, so the other two points are really unnecessary. Careful Aim might benefit you in that with your gear alone, you're right at the hit cap, and taking that talent, gaining 3% to hit with the points from it, would allow you to replace your blue trinket with the Agility version of the Darkmoon Card: Greatness, which is a much, much better trinket than its ilevel indicates it should be. That thing will last you a long, long time. So long as you have any type of hunter tracking up, Imp Tracking gives you free damage to anything you're shooting at. If I recall correctly, the return from imp stings and imp arcane shot aren't as good as you'd think they'd be for a beast master, but I can see your reasons for opting into them with the gear you're using.Rhyela wrote:I guess I should ask for opinions on mine as well. I'm just trying out new stuff every once in a while but would be willing to try something else. I opted for some of the other MM talents to try to play off my current tier pieces and such. Is filling Frenzy to 5 points pointless? Would 3 suffice? Do Careful Aim and Improved Tracking make that much of a difference?

Re: BM Raiding Spec?
Thanks Tahlian, but one thing - Careful Aim is 100% of intellect = RAP, Focused Aim is the hit one (and I was wondering if the intellect one was worth getting). Oh and believe me, I've been trying to get a different trinket but none will drop and I can't afford the Darkmoon Card just yet. Sure, I could get the trinket from Triumph Emblems, but I feel there are better ones out there (that and I need to save my emblems for an upgraded Windrunner's piece). But I will do some more tinkering and see what happens.Tahlian wrote:3 points in Frenzy is sufficient to guarantee a nearly 100% uptime on the proc, so the other two points are really unnecessary. Re: BM Raiding Spec?
Yes...the INT -->AP talent is, at least for now, extremely valuable. As it stands, we literally get zilch from Intellect other than a few paltry points of mana. That talent helps to get a little more mileage out of the intellect they're forced to put on our gear till Cataclysm.

Re: BM Raiding Spec?
In other words: some BM hunters will take Aimed Shot, but it's not typically part of the "cookie cutter" raid spec.
I simply didn't have the points to take it myself...and it amuses me to hear our rogue grouse about having to put Wound Poison on his weapons for Saurfang when our Survival hunter isn't around...but I'm eevil like that.

Re: BM Raiding Spec?

I'm going to respec again tonight and see if I notice a change.Falconer wrote:So I'm gonna ask a noob question hear; Nevar and Saturo, why did you both skip aimed shot? I'm still leveling (68) and I'm currently dumping points in mortal shots to get aimed shot. Is there something I don't konw?
Thanks to everyone for their help!

Re: BM Raiding Spec?
Aimed isn't really that much of a DPS gain for BM.
