Deviate Plainstrider - Appearance Buff Tame Gone?
Hey, all. Just making sure, but - I was attempting to tame a Deviate Plainstrider with the glowy appearance buff via death tame and it seems that either this wears off at death or the ability to tame this creature in this manner was removed with the fire patch change. Can anyone confirm or deny this (via a recent taming excursion.)? Thanks

What he said ^
Some Death-On-Tame Methods do NOT work. For Example: The Ghost Runner's do not work. But the Infamous Lone Hunter does. Ect ect. I would suggest the Tame it Normally then /petabandon () method for this one. If you are unsure how this method works keep reading:
Tame the beast you want with the appearance normally. Then tame it again while spamming the pet abandon macro. Log out, and log back in and say hello to your new beastie. Keep in mind if you do tame a pet with a damage buff, make it a show case pet or it will be considered an exploit if used in combat (Such as PVE or PVP Combat giving you an advantage which violates the ToU agreement) resulting in a 24 Hr to Permanent Ban (Depending on how you used it.) I know for sure the effect wears away when its killed, and i dont believe that some are 'utterly impossible' unless mechanics make it so. But thats my opinion of course. Ive had luck with The Lone Hunter, ive had absolutely no luck with Angered Arakkoa Protectors. Last time i tried to tame The Lone Hunter, i could not successfully aquire him with the hunting blade for like the over dozen times i tried when before i could get the sword almost every time (this was before they fixed the petabandon macro btw), and my guildie after 2 hours managed to tame the Angered Arakkoa Protector where i found it beyond frustrating and impossible to time.
Laz, the /PetAbandon() macro has been hotfixed a few patches ago, you now have to rely on a DoT or a friend to kill the beast you are timing at the very perfect second and then quickly spam revive, its the only way now. Before they fixed that i could tame the 'Spectral form' of the ghost runners easily with the macro, nowadays though with how the 'cheat' tame mechanics and the mechanics of all beasts special apperences that dissapear after death, i do believe its impossible. For those creatures who walk around with their special effect and retain them as a corpse, its definitely a possible tame.
These Plainstriders however, i do believe because of mechanics, are impossible to tame with the glow. Feel free to try though if your dedicated, who knows, there might be a fragment of a moment in there that allows them to be tameable with the glow. Who knows, if this bird is successfully tamed with the glow, then theres a possibility all the other similar cases are tameable too! *wishes she could tame the icepaw bears with their glow...*

Laz, the pet abandon macro was hotfixed awhile ago and does not work anymore for trick tames.

Are you talking about the patch-of-fire one? Because he stayed a patch of fire after he died for me. Odd. I also got a weird effect, getting a ravager with the buff "Pushed Too Far!" He looks like he is constantly in beastial wrath.
