I thought it was just the gear from those vendors we were talking about, but it's all level 60 PvP gear. So odd.

Potentially related, since he’s in the same area, Kezzik the Striker sells inaccessible Season 1 Gladiator’s, Season 2 Merciless Gladiator’s, and Season 3 Vengeful Gladiator’s gear to all players, as the majority of that gear didn’t have restrictions.

Just checked out Kezzik, and confirmed his stuff is now available to non-PVP'ers. Costs a pretty penny at 750-1500 honor (with the PVE currency exchange anyways), but he certainly has some nice looking stuff!

That's one thing about the lvl 60 PVP gear that may well have been a factor in its transmog restriction - it has some very nice looking stuff but the price completely omits its transmog value (e.g. grand marshal's claymore for only like 300 or so honor? Heh). So hopefully they will make lvl 60 pvp art available to non-PVP'ers at some point, but I wouldn't object if they bumped up the honor pt cost in so doing - fair's fair.

Oh, and the newer sets, like the merciless gladiator (black rift stalker) will they be transmoggable?

Hmm, i have a title back from vanilla wow on siliverin from pvp and cant buy the lvl 60 pvp gear from outlands. I havent tried buying the ones from org and transmogging.. i might to see what happens

The level 60 PvP gear (which is in SW/Org and Netherstorm) will not be transmoggable unless you had the appropriate rating back in vanilla, regardless of where you buy it from. I wish that label was applied to the gear somewhere; it's very confusing otherwise.

Those are indeed transmoggable. Everything from season 1 forward can be transmogged.....but the pieces themselves are spread out ridiculously in some cases.

I've noted which of the sets aren't the "main" sets from their season, as they do not have weapons to match and sometimes lack offpieces. The ".5" sets are slightly under the season's tier in quality, which only matters now because that's what they were called.

The sets added to the DMF (at least on the PTR) were PvE sets.

Don't feel too bad about it; things have been less than clear on Blizzard's end. The sets being added in Area 52 hadn't been announced pre-patch that I'm aware of.

I've been trying to piece together what sets certain PvP pieces belong to and your list was brilliant!

As far as I can tell, for the Arena sets only the Savage Gladiator's set (Arena Season 5 rare, ilvl 200) is completely missing the off-pieces (belt, boots and bracers), as in they never existed. This seems to be true for all class sets of this arena tier. The later two tiers of Season 5 sets all had belts, boots and bracers.

Oddly the level 70 General's/Marshal's bracers don't match the artwork of the Season 1 sets, while the corresponding belts and boots do. They seem to match the older level 60 sets instead. I assume this was a mistake and logged a report to QA via Noah. Whether they see it and agree or not is another matter Still, if those off-pieces require Arena ratings, maybe the point is moot. It just seems silly to restrict just those few pieces of a set in such a way though. Very odd if you ask me.

That's right re: savage. The BC blue sets took the same offpieces as the dungeon 3 sets because they're the same color (iirc). The other two season 5 sets were the "real" season 5 sets.

The early gladiator weaponry (s1 for sure) doesn't match the armor, which is somewhat of an annoyance for matching. I believe that's how they always were, since a friend of mine who played in vanilla confirmed as much to me.

I absolutely agree; it's ridiculous to restrict the level 70 offpieces in the same way as the level 60 ones. Even if they share a name, they were designed for two different tiers and we can't get matching offpieces otherwise. The level 70 general's marshal's bracers *should* indeed match the s1 sets - definitely an error.

Yeah, I was wondering if the Blizzard poster was muddling up the level 60 and 70 General's/Marshal's pieces and it's really just the level 60 ones they intend to restrict. The level 70 ones should be renamed to "Gladiator's" to avoid the confusion and to match better.

Absolutely agreed! And the seasons 2 and 3 offpieces could use a rename as well, just for consistency. It's imperative that the season 1 offpieces change to avoid confusion though.

What bugged me about the blue post is that the poster clearly specified BOTH sets. x_x

Hey Kalli, since you checked all that PvP gear, did you happen to notice if the ruthless set is bought with conquest or honor points? wowhead lists both of them as currency for it, so I'm confused (I don't normally buy PvP gear)

Ruthless is now honor points; it was conquest last season. Wowhead is behind again. D: The current set, cataclysmic gladiator, is available for conquest points.

And for anyone who actually wants that weird-looking brown set, you actually can cap out on conquest points just from doing random bgs every week, but it will take a loooooooot of bg wins to do it. *shudder*

Ah, great news for me then! This was also what I guessed, that they now are honor and were conquest when they were... "newer"
