Okay, brief history for those that don't care lol... I stay at home a lot. I write, and repair computers on the side. Anyway... I have my 2 cats and everything normally runs fairly well, that is until last night.

The people that were reading " Greener Pastures " noticed I dropped off-line after writing a bunch, but it was due to real life issues. I do apologize.

We had trouble with our kitties last week when the weather turned warmer, yahh love summer, but it appeared they had respitory distress. The test results came back late yesterday and it was in fact " toxic mold " ... Ouch!

We bought this house 2 years ago. Had all the test run you have to do, looked fine, then bammm... I have my fingers crossed it's not insanely bad, but this morning our contractor pulled a closet wall down, and I will not describe here what it looked like. Upon further investigations a neighbor has come forward saying the house completely flooded about 4 years ago. Man, buyer beware??!!!

Anyway... Due to the local health code I may have to actually abandon the house if it's extremely bad and then see what I can do insurance wise. Which may lead to me becoming mobile. As in spotty at best internet. Our rural area is so... Arghhh. I'll probably be able to log in to my favorite forums, but not a lot else...

I realize most people here don't even know me. I lurked here for years before actually joining, but I enjoy the boards immensely. This use to be such a tiny website lol...

It probably isn't an isolated problem- as much as we can hope. TBH I do suggest just getting out of that damn house and getting at whomever sold you the house. Or the realtors or anyone really. I mean good god everyone knows usually flooding results in some bad shit- what they did was about the same as selling a meth house to people!

Yes the making of meth is extremely dangerous. And the toxins and crap to make it just soak into everything. One woman found this out the wrong way when she called the cops on her husband for cooking up meth. He put not just himself, or her into danger. But two young children.

And not only that- but it might be more costly to get it all fixed up to where the mold is all gone and it's safe for you to be there than buying a new house or renting-finding one.

The cats are recovering. I had to setup a temp. enclosure outside for them. Sadly they're now much better off out there than I am in here lol... But, yeah... It was all legal and thru a local RE agent which has since gone out of business. Yeah, always wondered why.

It is amazing that, with all the flooding that happened in the area years ago, they could mask it all so well. I tend to think inspectors that look houses over for loan agents aren't that good as well. So far behind all the nice paint, sheet rock, tiles lurks a nasty mess.

I have a huge book collection that an expert has since told me to dump or get professionally cleaned. Which isn't even available within 100 miles of here.

So far it hasn't bothered me, although I grew up on a farm and most likely experienced far worse daily, but I do realize it will only become worse as time passes... I do so hate the idea of moving again, but everyone seems to think the house is just not going to be re-buildable in any sense of the word. interior 2x4's are beyond help which means flatten it I think...

Oh my, that is horrible! I really do hope your insurance can back you up on that. I guess on the bright side, you were able to find out what the issue was before things got a lot worse. The kitties sound like they'll be ok and it sounds like you and your wife are doing alright as well. I know it's hard to say when you're not in that position but, at least the house is only a material thing - the lives inside are what matter the most.

Today has been extremely tough all... I am sorry I haven't had time to update my current stories and such. I've been a nomad within my own home. My cats are safe outside, my wife is staying at my mom's and I sit here as the house is being dismantled around me. I shouldn't even be here, but I felt the need to witness the passing. From what I've seen I don't see how it can be spared in the end. It would be more humane to bulldoze it down and begin anew I think. Insurance is being a royal pain in the azz. Explain to me why we all pay these insanely high payments when they are going to nitpick us to death on everything..? Today they found toxic mold inside the main load bearing wall, which happens to be cinderblock. No way to repair that one. It goes all the way down to the foundation. I want to dip my entire house in bleach...

I will try to stay connected to my favorite forums, but it's looking like I may end up staying at, gulp, my parents until other arrangements can be made. Gotta love a small town. No hotels, no apartment blocks, arghhh...

And, I have been told to move again... So I'm running to another spot not yet destroyed by the crew.
