Pants Dilemma

Near full Ornate set

Here I replaced pants with Lord set in attempt to balance off with different shade on shoulders.

Which one looks better? :?:

#1 for me personally. :) The little yellow detailing matches the top!

Agreed on #1. Though the shoulders do have a different hue from the rest of the set, it's not too noticeable, and the pants in #2 disrupt the overall unified look in my opinion.

Agree on number 1. If you really are bothered with the shoulders not matching better, try downloading wow model viewer and put that set up, and just go through all the mail shoulders until you find something you like better ;) Well, either that or use that MogIt addon (I haven't used that myself though)

I worked on this set little bit more and I think I found a better matching shoulders instead of Giantstalker.
It is not exactly same saturated yellow/gold but even original Ornate shoulders didn't really match, it's white with light blue edges.

Now I think only alternative to this is the same model with silver/white colored one.

I think I'll call this Ranger-general set :P

The real problem is that the base yellow is flat, painted, which makes it very difficult to match. Basically, you're going to be hard-pressed to find a direct match, so it's just a matter of finding something to fake it with. The first pair of shoulders at least had the advantage of not having as much gold, so you'd have to look closer to tell that it's not the right shade.

Ergh, it's a shame the underwear shows through, those red lines kinda mess with the image.

Actually....isn't that a bug? I thought it was removed. *eyes Tryphena, her druid in the low-cut top* No bra there....

I am not going for exact match but something that looks nice together and doesn't look awkward. Anyway here is a direct comparison.

Yeah, red does sort of ruins it but it's outside of my control
Panty doesn't show here though, turning into a low-rise.

I think I like the second, more simple shoulders you picked out. Model-wise they are a lot more elegant and go with the rest of the set better in that way. As for the color, it's not a perfect match but I think it works well because it's still in the warm gold range. The silver on the first pair is off to me because it doesn't have as much blue as the set, and I'm more bothered by that than anything. Warm and cool silvers and greys mixed together are a huge pet peeve of mine, so I may just be too picky :]

It's a shame you're not Alliance. I was just about to suggest the Field Marshal's Chain Spaulders because they match wonderfully, especially with Sambas because they have a little lion on them. If I ever get the legs for the Ornate Set, that will be what I use.

I'm going to agree with the second set of shoulders. More elegant and seem to fit a female character more compared to the first set. Good job assembling the set :D

I'm glad you like it

Helm - Helm of Awareness Easy to farm, personally I like this because hair doesn't get turned off

Shoulders - Golden Scale Shoulders Blacksmith crafted item, the plan is a world drop
Field Marshal's Chain Spaulders another option if you are an alliance

Chest, wrist, hands, waist, legs, feets - Ornate Mail Set Two options: auction house or hunting rare mobs (Blasted Lands is your best place to hunt for these since you can also get quest items for an extra chance of random green)

Cloak - Cloak of the Banshee Queen I use this personally but I'm sure there are other cloaks out there that works

Bow - Ironfeather Longbow

2H Weapon - Kiril, Fury of Beasts Didn't really plan for this but color matches so I'm using it.

Basic color theme is silver blue and gold, I think it is perfectly fine to have it up to 3 colors so if want you can have bow + 2h weapon or bow + 2h weapon + cloak to match 3rd color of your choice.

Agreed, I like number 1 too. The accents on the yellow really pop and flow nicely with the overall look of the character!
