Reforging Assitance?
Anyone have some reforging tips for my main hunter, Shadé?
Her Armory Link
And Yes I am using a strength bow at the moment. >_< Trying to find something better, but I'm having horrid luck with drops lately, even with me spamming the LFG and LFR these last two weeks.
Been awhile since I've paid attention to her armor, so reforging tips-and buffs/gem tips where needed would be great. I don't have any people in game to check with, so I want to look here. I'm at 2k VP and am waiting to get the 2.2k VP chest or head right now next week.
I generally run as a BM and use my devilsaur for the crit buff he brings

Re: Reforging Assitance?
1) When it comes to reforging *secondary stats*, this tends to be the rule of thumb for Beast Mastery and Survival: Hit (to 8% cap) > Crit > Haste > Mastery. Now, I've seen people debate whether Mastery is better than Haste for Beast Mastery and you're welcome to research it and decide for yourself, but the top two are pretty much set in stone. You want to reach the 8% Hit cap above all else (so you don't miss), than get as much Crit as possible.
2) When it comes to gemming, you only match socket bonuses as long as the bonus is equal to or greater than what stacking the better Agility gems would be. For example, if an item has a yellow or blue socket and +10 Agility socket bonus, you're better off putting a red +40 Agility gem in there because you'll get +40 Agility instead of a +30 Agility and +20 other secondary stat after the bonus is factored it.
Another example: If an item has a red socket and yellow socket with +20 Agility socket bonus, you want to use a +40 red Agility gem and a +20 Agility / +20 Crit orange gem because the total will be +80 Agility and +20 Crit instead of just the +80 Agility that stacking 2 red agility gems would. The same could be said for an item with a red socket and blue socket with +20 Agility socket bonus, but you would use a purple gem for the blue socket for that case.
In the final example, if the socket bonus just gives a bonus to a secondary stat, don't bother matching the socket bonus unless it happens to use a red gem because Agility is pretty much king over any secondary stat with the exception of reaching the Hit cap of 8%. However, even if the bonus is Hit, you're generally better off reaching it via reforging than gemming for it.
Now, the examples above assume you're using blue quality gems, but you'll want to follow the same rules for epic quality gems as well. I purposely used the blue quality ones because epic gems are something you should be saving for the best gear you're likely to compete for. Don't bother using green quality gems in your gear, it's a waste of money in my opinion.
3) When it comes to Enchants, the rule of thumb tends to be this: Agility > Attack Power > Crit > Haste > Mastery. While it's possible to use +Hit enchants, it's usually best to reach the Hit cap with reforging (if necessary) than by using enchants.
4) When it comes to Valor, I would encourage you to spend it on accessory armor slots instead of on tier armor slots. I say this because if you're going to run the LFR a lot, you're going to want to aim for tier armor bonuses even though the LFR pieces are a little lower iLevel because the tier bonuses tend to be really good. Of course, that's just my opinion, and you're free to do whatever you like.
5) Finally, when it comes to getting an upgrade for your ranged slot, I would encourage you to queue specifically for Hour of Twilight and End Time every day till you get either the gun from the Archbishop or the Bow off of Sylvanis. I suggest Hour of Twilight first because you know the Archbishop is always going to be a boss, but End Time is random as to which two echo bosses you get.

Don't forget to toss an enchant on everything you can, too! Shoulders, chest, bracers, legs are all uncovered. As an engineer, you should also have the synapse springs on your gloves (http://www.wowhead.com/spell=82175).
What weapon were you using prior to that bow? Just debating whether it's worth throwing a scope on the strength one.... I'd recommend the gun over the bow if you can get it; the stats are better.

Make sure to check out the other recent BM topic here. I posted a few helpful links there for reforging and other general hunter guides.

A rare visitor to this forum now that I don't play WoW anymore, but forever a Petopian.
