bugging me about Tyrael's charger

I love the mount, and I use it on a few toons, but there was something about it that just nagged me. Something that seemed very "off" compared to other horse mounts...and then I realised what it was.

In comparison to other horses, tyrael's charger has shorter legs, wider chest, taller body. Its rather oddly proportioned! It reminds me of a giant shetland pony. It also has very paper-triangle ears, in comparison to the more rounded and shaded ears of the horse.

Also while flying it has one hoof that bends very far forward. Just seems to be the one...


Don't get me wrong, I an not complaining (much) I still love this mount, and use it. it just has its...akward quirks.

I'm not a fan of the horses that use the Hippogryph skeleton, which this one does. That's why the animations seem off, especially the hoof bending.

Just noticed now with my faster flying that it's both hooves that bend forward akwardly.
Its on the Hippogryph skeleton? why would they put a horse on that?

The Celestial Steed and Invincible also use that skeleton. I'm honestly not sure why they chose that one, but it just looks odd on horses.

Well Hippogryph's are what you get when a griffon breeds with a horse.

Yeah, they were given the Hippogryph skeleton. The bird legs of the hippogryph work very well with the skeleton, but it acts very strangely with hooves - never did like it.

It was probably easier to create a new model/skin over the hippogryph skeleton, instead of making new flying animations for the current horse model.

Ugh, yeah. Starpony and Invincible do the same thing and it bothers me to no end. >_< So many errors! Gaaah!

I refer to it as Tyrael's Pony.

It's the exact same model as Invincible and the Celestial Steed. I've always said, since the release of seeing both, that there is something just not right about the body. Personally, the legs are just too small and thick for me. If they were a little bit longer, it may actually look more normal.

Taurens on this mount look weird by the way... <.<

The way this mount is designed...I'd think it would belong to Edward the Odd, not Tyrael...

I was wondering in invinsable shared that model. though I've seen so few of them I dont know if its as noticable with that one. I also dont have a celestial steed, want to add one to my colection...but, have other priorities this month ;P
Though i've seen enough of them around, I've never noticed the same oddities, I guess thats more something you'd notice if you used one.

I'd prefer if this mount had more of say the HH's flying animation, since it doesn't really "use" its "wings". they're remind me more of fish fins, though I suppose thats why I like this wing style more then flappy.

Yeah, the flappy...flank-wing things are odd.

And I noticed something SUPER weird. Look at the front feet and then the back. The pasterns (little length between the hoof and 'ankle') are much longer on the back legs than on the front. It's so weird!

Now I won't be able to look at the mount without picturing it sashay-prancing like a MLP.

I agree, I'm fine with most of it. Just its tiny little legs that annoy me. But then we have to remember it was sort of free..

The broken hoof has bugged me since the sparkle pony; it looks like the poor horse's foot is broken beyond repair. I've even reported it as a bug (along with the weird night-elf-cat back leg folding error) and just get 'if you have a suggestion on how we should change the game, post it to the suggestion forums! '

Which means 'working as intended' even though it's borked.
