Race changes - question

I know a lot of people did this back in 4.0 to get themselves a high level goblin or worgen, but I never did.

However I'm thinking about doing it soon on one of my toons, but first I had a question I was hoping someone could answer.

When you do a race change, do you get to choose your new appearance, or does it get chosen for you (e.g. you find out which face, hairstyle, hair color, etc you're getting, once you've paid the money and it's too late to change it if you get something you don't like)?

You get to completely customize your character, as you would when making it the first time. And you can choose any appropriate race within your faction for the race change.

You get to totally customize it from head to toe plus you can change your name.

Sadly, nope! You have to pay extra to move servers.

Just remember that some hairstyles/tauren horn styles aren't available on the character creation screen. See the barber if you want the full range!
