Race? [Rolling Hunter, finally.]
I'm finally getting off my butt and rolling a hunter the moment I've got the heirlooms all put together.
However the big issue is - What race?
I haven't been able to decide. At all.
That's where you guys come in! Make up my fickle and ADHD mind so I can get this done and over with!
I'd like for it to remain horde side as she'll eventually make her way up to 85 and will be a decent asset towards professions n'whatnot.
So uh - Hordies.

Re: Race? [Rolling Hunter, finally.]
Orc - Fierce, strong personalities. Overall have good animations, I particularly like their bow posture. A bit limited for faces if you'd prefer the 'nice/pretty' types. They have some pretty neat hairstyles and colours though. I like the dark purple and some of the newer styles at the barbershop.
Troll - Lots of fun hair options, awesome attitude. The female models are rather stiff though, and again don't have many options for good faces. Lack of visible footwear might be a factor to consider if it bothers you.
Tauren - Suit being a hunter culturally. Not as many options for customization. Pets are going to look quite small beside you. Since they're essentially a bipedal animal race, it might be a bit odd having a beast as a pet, if that sort of thing bothers you.
Undead - Great excuse to have some of the plagued/demonic pets, and types such as spiders and bats. I really like their bow and gun animations. You're going to have the visible bones in the legs and arms of your armor though, and a hunched posture means tabards won't show very well.
Blood Elf - Most humanoid race of the Horde. Armor and gear tend to look great on blood elves no matter what. Weapons are rather small. Since they're a bit short and slim, pets tend to look very large beside them. Good models, pretty good animations.
Goblin - Since they're one of the newest races their models are the most detailed. Pets will look huge beside you. A good deal of customization. You'll have to go through their starting area, which could be good or bad depending on how many times you've completed it.

Re: Race? [Rolling Hunter, finally.]
check the voices of the various races as well.
If, like me, you play with the volume on you MAY find some of the female voices annoying.
For example, I find that Undead women all tend to sound like Joan Rivers.
Goblins, well, obviously sound like every Goblin NPC in the game.
B.Elf females have a bit of a Valley Girl thing going on there.
I CANNOT stand Trolls, men or women. The faux Jamaican accent thing is just such a huge turn off.
I have one Orc female toon, but I don't play her much (Warrior, eww). I just find she looks sort of goofy.

I'm partial to blood elves because they're not to short or tall and I like their starting zone and style plus arcane torrent in pvp is sometimes helpful.
I also love trolls Love the hair and animations of trolls plus their voices, hate their feet though.

Re: Race? [Rolling Hunter, finally.]
Hmm Of the horde hunter's I've had goblin was my favorite. I disliked the tiny pets next to a tauren and the belf is a valid option, but their racial is all but pointless (unless its been changed to regen focus?) for a hunter. Goblin was a fun option, with most all the pets being much, much bigger then you. Never played an undead, their knees bother me, nor an orc, as I just dislike them in general.
I would suggest giving Alli a try, just for a change of pace. Worgens make nice hunters, their racial sprint ability is handy to get out of trouble. Draenei's gift of naruu is a handy self heal to keep you up during the challenge tames-a little health buff that won't pull aggro from you while trying to tame, etc. Night elf's stealth ability is great while leveling a hunter, I tend to pull aggro a great deal on my lower level hunters and having that stealth ability-which drops your aggro-is handy if the tank can't regain the aggro on their own and you've not gotten FD yet. Humans are okay, and dwarfs' racial isn't grand, but it is alright on a hunter-but they also got the mini-me vs big pets thing going on.
(I just wish I could make a gnome hunter.. /cry)
