On top of everything else happening this week... I just "ruined" my elephant hat :'( Sure.. it's not ruined ruined.. but it's not fluffy at all anymore.. I was washing it cause of some of the forehead grime... and while it was in the dryer it fell out of the pillow case I had it in... it now looks like it's about 5-10 years old.. not fluffy at all... I'm gonna try and comb it out with either my brush, or Penguin's brush... it's helping a LITTLE.. but not much.. I'm gonna keep an eye out and see if the vendors ever have it on campus again and buy myself a 2nd.. then I can have one I keep extra car of.. and then I'll have one that's more for.. "sketchy" situations.. like.. in possible rain... But.. still, it seems like a rare hat.. so I'm not sure if I'll see it again... I'm trying to tell myself "elephants aren't fluffy anyways" .... but.. it's not working.. maybe worse case I can get a "fluffy hat" and then I'll have my elephant hat too.. I'm trying to tell myself it doesn't really matter, but on top of all the other shit that's happened to me this break.. It's not working...

To top it off.. one of my room mate's came back from the holiday.. asking "when I got back" .... and "what? you don't go home?" (I haven't lived at "home" in over 5 years...) or "You don't go to your parents'?" Now.. I tried to put in a "it's no so simple tone" when I stumbled over trying to find a response about going "home".. but... She had the standard pitying, condescending "oh no.. it's sooo sad you didn't get to go!" tone... And I HATE that... Not everybody misses living with their parents.. not everyone HAS both in the picture... Not everybody hate PARENTS that give a crap... and not everybody cares that they don't have what everyone else seems to... I sure know that I don't anymore... It's been a long LONG time since I've had anything even REMOTELY like a caring family... I honestly just don't care anymore. It might sound cruel.. Sure.. having a family I could rely on would be cool.. but... I don't, and that's fine. I've found ways to still have SOME relationship with my family and yet ... not be close to them at all... But no... people still have to come in and be all "Omg, I'm so sorry for you. I'm sorry your family is like that. I'm sorry you can't go 'home'. I'm sorry blah blah blah". I mean.. I honestly don't care all that much (generally, there's some few small situations where it sucks.. mostly when my family twists the small things we DO have into something negative, or exluding me, or something), why should anyone else?

Soooo tired of people telling me how I should feel about certain situations.. or what I should do... or how I should live... I've come to the realization that my thought patterns seem to be far off the "norm" from the way people seem incapable of understanding. And I'm fine with that. Everyone else should just learn to let me deal with MY life.. let ME decide what's worth being upset over. Let ME decide what to do in certain situations. You don't have the first clue what goes through my head...

For example.. If I wanna be fucking depressed and cry over my hat, but then not give a shit about not going "home" for the holidays.. that's MY CHOICE.

I read in the news paper today someones trying to make the company who makes this classic brand of icecream cones we get here called Gaytime cones becouse he find them "homophobic and insulting". It's just stupid I mean I've knowen these cones for all my life there one of the most popular brands here and I've knowen no one whos offended by these cones. It's got nothing to do with homosexuals at all it's gay as in happy I mean theres a smileing clown on the front for petes sake!

My god some people are stupid don't they know some words have more than one meaning?

I mean my god look at it how is that offensive to anyone besides people who have had clowns or icecream cones do bad things to them?

Some people are freaking ass-holes (pardon the language).

I arranged to buy a textbook off someone earlier this week.. possibly on the weekend. They said "Sure! I'll hold on to it until your loan comes in!" so I didn't send out other requests searching for the book... Then they e-mail me today saying "Yeah.. someone offered more so I sold it to them" ... They didn't ask if I wanted to match the offer... or even get greedy and say "I can continue to hold it.. but would you mind chipping in a little extra?" Both of which I'd likely have been willing to do. Now I might be screwed. I'm relying on buying all my books used through students (book store used books really aren't much cheaper than new ones) in order to keep myself even this semester (which I can do... if I don't need to spend $500 on texts)...

Just sucks.. I have to rely on OSAP.. I have $20 until it comes in... So I really CAN'T get the books until then... So far it looks like everyone else will wait... But I'm starting to get e-mails "So when are you gonna buy the books?" ... :/

The worst thing is I can't WAIT until I have OSAP to arrange to buy the books.. because everyone else who has mommy and daddy to lend/give them money snatches up all the books REALLY fast... That's why I made arrangements so early... So I really will be screwed if people don't wait and if I don't get my loan soon...

My computer is FINALLY fixed after a whole week... Everything's been wiped, so it's like a completely new computer. That.. I can deal with. But.. I've searched through the backup for it.. And my art IS NOT THERE from what I can tell. Literally ALL of my art from the LAST YEAR is gone. Just.. Gone... There was so much stuff I was working on... That I'll never be able to finish now. It's all gone...

Lucky is getting sicker.. hes drinking far more water then food, he does have a healthy appetite but not as often as id like him to, hes having trouble crapping and will start to hack and then jump out of the litter box and hack out a very dark-black slightly oozy greyish green liquid that smells like it came from deep within his bowels that spatters everywhere like a gunshot, so violent his reaction to the stuff is.

He started to hack out the strange liquid when we discovered he was having trouble digesting solid kibble and would go for days without eating, so we began to grind it up and mix it with cans of wet food. Worked for a while but occassionally he would hack the horrible liquid up and it gradually became frequent. A few weeks ago he all together stopped eating the wet food with the dry food mixed in and would only touch food that didnt have the kibble in it so we stopped putting the dry food in. The wet food is nutritionally complete so we didnt need to worry about him not getting enough vitamins and nutrients and what not but hes had, as i said earlier, trouble going to the litter box and when he cant successfully crap he hacks up.

It was an infrequent and very rare occassion the past few months but hes gone for almost a week now with crapping trouble and the zantac that the vet gave us isnt working anymore, hes still hacking up even with it in his system. Hes been very touchy, not super sociable most of the time, tense, been sitting at the entrance to my room almost all day long every day when hes not on my lap, he doesnt talk much and hes a VERY talkative cat when he feels like he needs to converse with us, hes drinking so much water we had to replace the dish with a shallow margarine container cause we were having to fill up his old dish every day (not because its good to change the water but because there was no water left. Every morning i change his and my rats water but he was drinking the whole container up), and hes eating his food in spurts rather then periodically through the day.

When we were at the vet back in early november only one of his kidneys enzymes were raised and it was only by about 1-2% above the max norm. levels. He said that if they start going it would happen quickly but this soon? Its only been 2 months since his visit with them and his kidneys were for the most part in the clear. We know they'll be his downfall but i cant believe that its happening so soon but we dont have any money to spare to even just take him to the vet where we'll get charged that rediculious fee they like to slap you across the face with for doing absolutely nothing, let alone get any tests done.

We're trying to keep our house right now, rents being raised cause the board here is retarted and are losing people cause of the atrocious job the new mantinence man is doing. It takes him 3 weeks just to fix a door that needs its hinges tightened for fricks sake. Stepdads truck is starting to buckle and needs repairs if we're to have a vehicle, im starting to now, after a talk we had together just the other day, taking money out from my education fund sitting in my bank to pay my half of the bills out of neccessity so we can continue keeping our place and the essentials, its just.. we literally as much as it kills me, which it really, really does, ive had Lucky for 16 years now, cant afford to get another blood test done, theres no way to confirm its the kidneys unless we have the test done.

What if it isnt actually the kidneys either? What if its something with his intestines or his stomach? Something the blood test couldnt pick up. It didnt pick up anything except kidney enzymes when we had the test done so whos to say it suddenly will now? We cant afford to shoot in the dark and spend a fortune running tests on every type of liquid that his body produces to see if we can pinpoint whats going on. Unless someone miraculiosly steps in with money or Lucky gets better, we're faced with watching him waste away slowly or the one treatment that every pet owner hates to think about.

Im gonna call the vet tomorrow and tell them whats going on and our situation and see what they suggest. The vet is one we've worked with ever since he was a kitten is a reliable doctor and hes never even mentioned the humane final option you can give anyone or anything when they're sick beyond help and are suffering more then they are living (though probably because im old enough to understand how dire that kind of situation is). Im dearly hoping he can suggest something without us having to take Lucky in for any reason but he told us that if it is his kidneys that are failing, then its going to be a really quick process and that theres nothing really that can be done thats fair to both owner and pet. I just have to wait and see how he reacts to the symptoms i explain to him to know if he knows exactly whats going on that way and can suggest some sort of treatment that wont cost us a whole lot of money.

Thanks Im really hoping he'll be ok tonight, he was happy after he hacked up all over the tile floor (thank god it wasnt the carpet this time) and then proceeded to drink half the margarine container and eat nearly the entire saucer of wet food (we only feed a quarter of a can at a time and stretch it out from early morning to bed time) but his tummy still (something i forgot to mention) is still grumbling slightly violently (its died down a lot now tho), almost like how mine does when i dont eat till dinner time out of lack of time to make something to eat between when waking up and then.

Right now hes now cuddling on my lap, he spent 2 hours sitting at the doorway to my room and he looked absolutely exausted and anti-socal and tense and all the behaivoral oddities i mentioned in my really long rant. Problem is the exausted look isnt abnormal anymore, its become his general appearence lately, i know hes had at least some ease sleeping, i know when he talks in his sleep and he certainly has been talking occassionally in the middle of the night, and im highly doubting hes sick cause of nausea cause the zantac we make him swallow prevents vomiting and he hacks up irregardless of if hes had zantac or not.

We were, as told by the vet, feed him 1cc half hour before his first meal and another 1cc half hour before his last meal. He was having some frequent hacking back near christmas and the vet said to give him a half cc (occassionally, pretty much for a few days after having him hack up and then have him on the regular 2cc a day when he goes for those few days completely free of any hacking noises) in the middle of the waking hours of our day since we control his feeding times now to help keep his food down.. but its obviously not working anymore.

And of course its 2am and i have now officially been awake for a full 24 hours. Didnt sleep at all last night cause i was accidently jacked up on a large mcdonalds coffee and today was spent going to a movie prop company and then a special effects make up company (they had props too, they were the same company that made stuff like the jafa staff weapons for the gou'ald race in stargate) to learn their trades and sources as part of my training course, and then had to clean some cages and have class after that so i left the house at about 11am cause my boss/teacher was insanely busy and couldnt pick me up for a while (had to book a bunch of parties that he recieved emails for overnight and also talk to a movie company to discuss whats happening with some pirranah's they are asking for. I'll be joining him on the movie set for a day to help build that scene for the movie) and didnt get home till about 8pm.

Poor kitty, it sounds really painful to him.. Have you given him anything to harden the stools so it doesn't explode everywhere?
This further strenghtens my belief that dry food is shit for cats though, except for keeping their teeth clean.
You should get yourself some sleep when you can, hun. All that seems really straining.

His 'digested leftovers' are solid, and no i dont have anything, nor know of any brand names of stuff that can do that, but i'll definitley pitch that to the vet and see what he says. I too dont like dry food, but it keeps their teeth strong (and actually, looking at his canines right now, his teeth are more clean from eating wet food these past several weeks then his life eating dry food, they were black and brown and now they're turning whiteish yellow and the black is dissapearing. the discharge that kept forming between the fur on the bridge of his nose and the skin of the nose is gone and so is the discharge that he would get often in the corners of his eyes). I kinda have the thought tho that hes having trouble depositing because hes living off wet food, he never had trouble depositing when dry un-ground food was his diet, ima have to ask the vet if giving him stuff to harden his digested contents will allow him to deposit more often (he's hardly gone at all)... augh i just want it to be morning already so i can phone >_> But im starting to doze off at the computer and im sure Lucky wants to snuggle up between the layers of the blanket i use to cushion my chair (his favorite sleep spot) so im gonna try to calm down and sleep..

I may have missed it but I didn't see any mention of lucky's liver - have they checked that? The only causes of excessive drinking (that I am aware of, and I am certainly not a vet) are either related to thyroid issues or else he's trying to clear toxins from his body. Again there may well be other causes, just throwing those two out there. I will say a little prayer for him.

Blood tests in Nov ruled out that problem, only thing that showed up abnormal was a very slight increase in enzymes in one of his kidneys. And my vet is bokked for a few appointments right now and then will be having lunch afterwards and then most probably more patients will be streaming in from there but i explained everything to the clerk lady and mentioned both what you Miyon and what another poster PM'd me to speculate which is intestinal blockage and the clerk lady said they have over the counter laxitives there but she'll hand over everything she wrote down that i explained to the vet and they'll call me back and we can talk from there.

Lucky is happy-ish right now, he slept all night long, his food was gone this morning so he ate it all, hasnt hacked up, hes sitting on my desk staring at me cause im sitting on my feet in the chair so my lap is against my chest thus making it impossible for him to sit on me (im getting up shortly so i dont want him crawling on my lap only to get lifted off again), hes not his normal perky self at this moment but i think it might be cause hes still tired. Hasnt deposited in the litter box yet, and whats in there is horribly small in size for what his normal is but he did just have a little pee so thats ok. Im feeling a lot better then i was yesterday since hes not so touchy right now and is actually talking.. somewhat, more like whines rather then conversation but hes reacting to sound and movement a lot more quickly then he has been the past while when he would curl up and sit like a rock in my doorway, nothing would phase him when he sits there like that. he wouldnt move his head or make a noise or move his tail, only his ears would move.

Im hoping the vet leans more towards the idea its something wrong with his digestive track rather then his kidneys (but im also thinking his kidneys are causing him to drink more which is causing a horrible runny mixture in his stomach). I mentioned that because hes having a hard time depositing, he might be drinking more water to get rid of his hunger cause he doesnt eat as normally as he should be.. he eats in spurts rather then gradually and food will sit there and sit there until he finally decides to eat it. The runny mixture that it creates in his stomach i know too causes hm to hack up, when we mixed water into the ground dry food/wet food mix, if it was too runny he'd hack up everywhere later that day, if it wasnt watery he wouldnt hack up that same day but he would usually end up hacking up every couple days. We keep removing different components to his food to rule out whats wrong and its definitely not what hes eating.

We feed him pate style wet food cause he hates the stuff with gravy and cause thats too watery for him, so theres no excess water content hes physically eating, its all just the water hes been engorging himself on. We have definitely in the past given him the option of wet food and un-ground dry food but whenever he eats the dry food, he is 100% for sure hacking up later that day and its quite horrendous seeing the liquid mixture with undigested kibble in it.. I really dont know whats going on but i know dry kibble= absolutely for sure going to make him hack up. Wet/Dry mix= he will absolutely not touch it anymore. He actually makes a horrible face when he sniffs it. But when he does eat itm its about a 70% chance of hacking up and 30% chance of keeping it down. Wet food= Was holding it down fine (for the most part) until he started drinking WAY TOO MUCH water.

I dont know if the cause is his kidneys making him drink so much or cause hes drinking to fill the void in his stomach cause he doesnt want to eat due to depositing trouble due to either a blockage or constipation or if hes trying to expell toxins (which there shouldnt be any, we've cut him off from human food since November and we dont have bugs in the house so he couldnt of eaten something with parasites and he doesnt dig through the garbage. I keep his and tamikas boxes clean to avoid build up of any potential disease and to keep everything smelling nice).
