Kura's TLPD Camp Journal..YAYYYYYY!!!!

Omg! Hahaha the things we do =P. 'Herby' reminds me of something a guildy and I did once. It was early Cata when that item that turns you into a herb was new ( I forget what it's called. ) I was in my AFK spot in Durotar when he sneaks up and disguises himself as a herb and /says " herby herb herb..herb herbyy" Pretending to be a herb, because that's the sound they make! haha.

Alsooo, The pally camper just notified me that Vyra spawned on top of him, so that's good =). I went and skinned her and now to return in 4 hours!

I read somewhere (I think on the notsorare website) that he can spawn in an hour after Vyra...is that true!?

It's been rumored that someone saw TLPD 45 minutes after Vyra, but no one knows for sure. If it is true it's said to be really, really rare to happen. I usually don't count on it happening so i just go back at the 4 hour point anyway =P.

It has but it was said that it may have been cause people were killing the other northrend rares. For TLPD your best bet is to figure out the general timer really on my server I figured out between 8-12ish am, and 10-12 after. The odd one at a differnt time but generally for the longest time I found a vyra every day atleast and sometimes twice to three times. For sure camp at a spawn point and just stick out there, you can do other things and it just makes it easier for you to camp. Its boring flying around circles and they usually dont last long enough before they are killed. Good luck on your hunt

Ohh awsome =). Yeah I seem to see Vyra very often around 5:30pm, but the last week or so her common time has been 11am-1pm, and 11pm-1am. I have a choice between the Frozen Waterfall and Ulduar point ( as the other two are taken) but I can't decide haha! I have a good feeling about Ulduar...but then I have another feeling saying not to leave Waterfall...Eeek!

Chilling at Ulduar tonight, have been all day. The other campers and I have all the spawn points covered, but we haven't seen a thing all day yet ( Well, there was a kill at 9:40am by the Waterfall camper) but nothing since then. The past few days the times between spawns have been double! We don't think we're missing any spawns, but I think its just RNG deciding to pick the longest possible re-spawn timers haha -.-
Haven't posted any of my new drawings recently, but right now I'm creating an account on Deviant Art. I will create a thread in the art section when I am done and post my latest drawings, with my Deviant Art link ^_^.

I agree, it's best to just sit on the spawn points because I think that's how everyone else gets tlpd and that explains why I've never seen him while I've been on patrol through there. You'd think I'd even see at least a corpse or someone fighting him, but he's killed so fast because he's killed right after he spawns--craziness!!

Hehe yeah, the Bor's Breath camper told me that he found Vyra dead by the Engine of the Maker's this morning at 11:40am, we had both been camping at this time, but the character that he had watching Brunn was instead cruising around Northrend looking for rares to kill and increase Vyra spawns =P. It must have worked haha! Back to camping 4 hours later but he hasn't returned, so I've decided to sit on Bor's Breath spawn for the time being until he comes back. The camper who usually watches the waterfall isn't here either, so at the moment I'm trying to manage all four spots by regularly checking with Eagle Eye , plus I have a friend who is bored so he's volunteered to make it a bit easier for me by watching Brunnhildar.

Starting to feel like I made a huge waste of the long holidays now, I think they finish in like a week and a half or so and I've spent more then half of them by the computer waiting for this shiney drake D:. Damn it, why must I want him so much haha! If I had only killed him when I saw him 2+ weeks ago, but missed him all because I left the spot =(.

Managed to see 3 Vyra kills within 24 hours yesterday, one at 11:40am roughly, another at 7:53pm and then another at exactly 2:00am on the dot. So I suppose that's an upside, as I was barely seeing her at all lately. No sightings yet today, but hopefully at least Vyra spawns so I can go take a break for a bit.

Started camping at about 10:30 or 11am this morning, didn't see anything until 12:33am ( Vyra freshly killed at Ulduar.) I was Eagle Eyeing over there and found her dead so I scurried over to skin her =P. I know she was very freshly killed as I had used Eagle Eye to check the area about 5 minutes earlier, and the place that she had died in was probably about 2-3 minutes from her spawn point.

Anyway..I'm thinking of maybe just doing night camps from now on..Not sure. But it's probably the best thing I can do, there is some hot days coming up and I want to go out and enjoy them with friends, plus I've been putting off painting because of the camping @.@. I have a cute baby harp seal drawn on a canvas that is just waiting to be painted with color. So I think it would be the best thing to just spend the night time camping and use the daylight for more productive things =). Even if I do miss a TLPD during the day it shouldn't matter because I know I'll have been doing something far more useful, with holidays almost at an end I better get out there! haha.

I haven't posted in the past few days, but nothing interesting has happened really =P just a few more Vyra's and 0 reports of TLPD's.
On Wednesday I camped from when I got up till around lunch time. It was really nice outside so I decided to just stop the camp and go painting for a bit, though..my friend who was camping with me offered to keep a lookout for me while I was gone. He's a good friend that I can trust, so I let him use my account in case TLPD decided to show up =P. Later on, right as I started packing up all the paints I got a text from him saying he had found Vyra at 5pm. So that granted me some more free time =P. I went back to camping after the raid but didn't see anymore spawns, but it wasn't as bothering as it normally would have been since I had seen her at least once for the day.

Went back to camping shortly after breakfast on Thursday morning, plopped Kura in her usual spot and my friend came to watch Brunn for me. While we camped we decided to hop on MSN and play some games =P. Literally the millisecond that we finished a game, my NPCscan went off! Tabbed into WoW, but it was just another Vyra =P. She'd come down from the Ulduar spawn. Hopped off for 4 hours, and when I came back I saw her up again near Brunn, but she died just as I Eagle Eyed there, so I just flew over and skinned and logged off for another few hours; She had done a 4 and a half hour re-spawn.

My night camp plan fell through a bit...I don't know what happened haha! But it's daylight and yet I still find myself camping @.@

EDIT: Vyra spawned at Brunnhildar around 3:30ish, my friend had his character there, but was playing swotr so he didn't hear his NPCscan go off. Just so happens that I'd decided to do an Eagle Eye check and caught Vyra coming over the waterfall from the Brunnhildar path. =D

Wow lots of Vyra's (Super annoying).

Well, I sorta have taken a break from camping since right now is my slow-season in my business which means I have a lot more play time. When my busy season hits (this upcoming week basically) I'll be camping tons and tons, all day long probably (I work from home).

I've not heard or seen a drop of any leads on TLPD. I think it's so weird that I have never seen him, but yet people all over my server have that mount. Must be that they're just camping like crazy, he spawns, they kill, the end. ;o\ I'm not a huge fan of the "camp on the spot for days" type of rare hunting. I'm more of a "find a lead and patrol at peak times" style. And that's worked the best for me. *Gripes* LOL!

I guess it makes me want the mount even more because it's so difficult!

Hehe yeah..In total I've probably seen like 50+ Vyra's..Eek!. Although I'm not hating on her as much this camp though, it's relieving to see her plus she gives me a break and a timer . Also yeah camping isn't really something I can just do on its own, I've been working on Adobe Photoshop lately so I may aswell run WoW in the background and camp =P. It's a nice thing to do on quiet nights at home, pull out a movie or two on, read or draw while camping .

The past few days have just been a couple more Vyragosa's, though the highlight of this update would be that TLPD spawned this morning..But I was in bed at the time ( About 4:40am he spawned.) I'm surprisingly okay with it , probably because I was actually asleep and wouldn't have had a chance anyway..But if it had been during the day when I was actually around I probably wouldn't have been too happy . Plus my friend got it, and he told me that he followed TLPD around for about 40 minutes, waiting and hoping for me to come online which was really nice of him . In the end though an alliance hunter came along, and so my friend ended up killing TLPD. At least now I know of another TLPD spawn, it's the first one I've heard of in about a month.

Well, in between that time there was another Vyra spawn at 5:41pm. I decided to go to a friends house for a swim, and the guy who camped for me on my account a few days ago did it for me again today =). He had been AFK getting a drink when Vyra spawned, and came back to find her dead, but hey it was only Vyra..thankfully..

OMG! Like a moron I go to scan for the camels upon getting back online...get this. Guess whose corpse I found when I returned to Storm Peaks. *barf* TLPD! First time I've even seen his corpse. I have to say, I'm happy about that though because at least I've SEEN his existence haha! Seems like Sunday/Monday is lucky day on our server for these spawns!

Ohh no! Hopefully we get to see him alive and flying along soon ! I'm longing to see him that way =P.

EDIT: Could have camped today, but lately I've been going out a little more, trying to squeeze in some ACTUAL fun/useful things before the holidays end haha , I went for a swim today instead of camping, my friend was also unable to camp for me but that was fine .

Thank god for the Armory, because I checked one of the new campers armory's not long ago anddd.. " Obtained Azure Dragonleather Helm of the Bandit. 2 hours ago." I waited for it to switch over to '3 hours ago' to get the actual kill time, which ended up being 2:55pm, which was about 30 minutes after I logged off =P..Only Vyra though so that's okay!

Okay..So today as mentioned in my previous post - there was a Vyra kill at 2:55pm. So I came back to camping at about 6:50. I wasn't paying much attention to the camp today, I was keeping myself rather occupied with Adobe Photoshop and a computer drawing tablet, with WoW just running in the background and occasional Eagle Eye checks on the Brunnhildar route. I was at my usual spot at the Frozen Lake , while my friend was watching the Ulduar spawn point for me. Storm Peaks was very quite tonight, and very relaxing as there were 0 stackers on me all day .

Well nothing much happened for the first few hours, I just sat on Photoshop editing photos of eyes, turning them into Avatar eyes and dragon eyes etc ..very fun!!

The time reaches 10pm and my sister leaves the house for the night. Since she had left I decided I'd go set her toon up at Brunnhildar soon, but i suddenly decided to do an Eagle Eye check first...Passed through the Engine of the Makers...through Brunnhildar..then halfway between Brunnhildar and K3 NPCscan went off! My first thoughts were something like " Okie time to kill another Vyra....wait...you'r not Vyra.." Once I had noticed that it was actually the Time-Lost Proto-Drake I braced myself to target his corpse...It was no corpse..He was alive and at full health! I cancelled my Eagle Eye and mounted up in a matter of seconds! I had to fly all the way from the Frozen Lake to near Garm's Bane..It was the most intense flight I'd ever experienced in WoW . The whole time my mind was full of " Please don't die..Please don't die..Oh no...Hes gonna be dead by the time I get there..No!"

As I began to reach the point where NPCscan had found him I was spamming the hell out of that target button..I don't think I've ever clicked so fast in my life lol! After what seemed like ages, it targeted him and he was still alive! I looked down below me and this is what I saw!


I flew into range and hit my macro, which included a Chimera shot to one shot him, /dismount and my engineer parachute, and a /target Time-Lost in case I untargetted him somehow. He went down! His corpse plummeted down to the snow below, while I gracefully floated down with my parachute..It took me almost 30 seconds to finally land on the ground! And I had actually floated down on an angle so I ended up really far from his corpse lol!

Looting him was an amazing feeling, to be the one to actually be in this position! To want this golden drake since WotlK and to finally get it feels great =D. It was a very nice finish to the day, swimming in the pool with friends, making new things on Photoshop, and finding TLPD!

EDIT:Umm..funny thing I noticed while looking back at my screenshots was that TLPD's corpse was facing one way when I killed him..And then I left to go sneak up on my camping friend to show him TLPD, and when we returned to his corpse it was facing the opposite way! Lol!?



That final screenshot is me and my friend who helped me to camp. I would like to thank him for keeping me company this past month and for camping for me when I wasn't home to do so. I would also like to thank all the other nice campers I met during this time, they were a great help =D..and of course all of you Petopians who helped keep me sane!!
