Try with a beetle if you got lots of troubles with the pet in p4
for me the beetle works less buggy then the turtle for some odd reason :S

btw keep in mind with MOP on the horizon we wont be able to solo farm this boss anymore (or it will be an extremely hassle) since we cannot equip the staff and our bow at the same time :S
