I agree with Vul :) Corso is absolutely adorable and funny, if I need cheering up I always go play my scoundrel for awhile before switching to another toon, although Aric Jorgan holds the favourite spot for me Corso is a close second.

After playing my scoundrel for a little while, yes Corso is sweet, but he's almost like he's a little too sweet. Like they made him specifically for women. Okay, I'm not making any sense. I guess in my mind, he almost seems unrealistic. Maybe I just haven't played him enough. I like guys with some rough spots and a sweet center, rather than ones that just gush with sugary goodness.

*chuckle* My smuggler, Ro'lan, rather wanted to punt Corso out the nearest airlock while he was bugged to use that harpoon ability even after you told him not to. On the other hand, he's much more tolerable now that the bug is fixed. RP-wise, he has helped me nail Ro'lan's personality down as an older man than I had originally thought him to be, so there's that.

My operative's personality has just come busting out all over, and I've really come to like his quirks and phobia that he's "told" me about. Alberic also quite likes Kaliyo...rather more than "likes," actually. Not sure how she's going to feel about him in the long run, however. If they get the romance thing going, it may end up being one of those deals where romance/love springs from the fact that she understands him better than anyone else, even if the weirdo spook is strongly Light-sided. Silly spook.

Re: SWTOR .............

I've been incredibly burnt out on SWTOR recently myself. I even gave away the guild leadership to someone else since frankly, I haven't sat down and played SWTOR in about a week and a half even. I'm going to try out Republic, see if thats any better. Maybe a smuggler even. I loved the story options and the story quests, but it just felt too "linear" for me with the class quests and the order of planets. Its still pretty open with tons of side quests, but if I hated a planet "taris for example", I couldn't simply hop over to another planet to level. (Kind of like if you hated Strangelthorn Vale for your 30's, you could always head to Desolace). I know I could just focus on class quests and whip through as fast as I could, but then you become underleveled for the next area.

I went back to WOW to try out raid finder and the new instances, they were fun, but I'm planning on letting the month die out and probably will be gone from WOW until Panda-express comes out at least. I got the raid finder version of the fancy bow from Deathwing, it does make me feel fancy. I do like what they did with Raid-Finder. Being a parent who often has to abruptively end play sessions, its nice to be able to hop into a raid and not feel bad about quitting after a boss.

The main problem for me is this little game called Minecraft that I started. It is incredibly difficult to play anything at the same time with having the option to log into your little world. I'm running a server with 2 friends and we're having a great time exploring and exploring and more exploring. The saying "just one more block, just one more block, just one more block..." is so true it hurts, probably the hardest game to try and adhear to a "hard stop" time.

SWTOR is set to cancel in a week or so, I'll likely leave it cancelled for the time being. I think it is something that I will pick up yet again and in length (get my Sith Warrior to 50, play a bounty hunter to get Blizz the companion, etc) but for now I'm content with just setting it on the shelf to be enjoyed at a later date.

My problem was that I hyped SWTOR up too much. I viewed it almost as a "savior to MMO's everywhere" and I ignored all of the minor flaws that I came across due to my blind cultist fanaticism. My own fault here. Once I realized I wasn't having fun and when I realized that "yes this game does have some flaws" it was a bit game-depressing.

Minecraft, in which I had little-to-absolutely no expectations for is basically the greatest game suprise I've had in a very long time (what i expected vs what i was delivered). You can't go wrong with practically a open world Lego-game with minor RPG elements.

~TL;DR~ Don't overhype upcoming games, you'll find yourself dissapoint. Think everything upcoming is going to suck, then you'll be pleasently suprised often.

I still love SWTOR and I feel its a great game, just not for me right now. I'm hoping that both WOW and SWTOR get good gamer-niches, therefore maybe SWTOR will have a cross-realm RealID type chat and a dungeon finder type thing, or WOW will maybe implement different choices that characters get in their quests, etc. It'll make them both better in the long run. I think I'll be a game hopper back and forth though. I'm going to go now and tunnel some more, I found a abandoned mineshaft and it needs more exploring.

That's pretty much the rule I use when It comes to games, movies, comics or what ever I am looking forward too (even dates XD). It really does work  I've found over hypeing things is bad like what I did with Avatar..... ended up not likeing it XD

Royi, to me it almost sounds like you're burned out on the MMO genre in general and could probably use a break from MMOs. :)

Well, I feel that a few of the names I gave before would work well for almost any race/class combo in the Star Wars universe, however, I am not adverse to coming up with more! :D
(And as a random side note: My consular is a female green Twi'lek named Appletini in the guild <Five O'clock Somewhere>. A couple of guildies wanted alcohol themed characters so a bunch of us rolled little baby alcohol alts. xD)

Jedi Consular names (with some generic names thrown in):
Aosha (ow-shuh)
Lilith
Nien (knee-en)
Mist/Myst
Fiona
Valya/Valia
Vix/Vixen
Khloe
Clairice/Clarice
Ginny (no, it doesn't have to be a Harry Potter reference)
Ryna (rin-uh)
Minnie
Onaria (oh-nar-ee-uh)
Zyla (zye-luh)
Qyha (kia)

Well... SWTOR. I have to lvoe it because it's Star Wars, but I feel that every planet just follows the same pattern: This is the big enemy, go kill 10 of them, now go kill twenty of them, go find an item they've stolen... Blargh! Find it too samey and it gets a bit old after a while.

I played Republic side with my Commander, Tenealle, and my Jedi Shadow, Cofelia.

Love the customisation options of everything though. Wish WoW had a few more choices when it comes to this :)

Gala ~ I think thats just unfortunately the general quest line of a MMO. I do enjoy the dialogue options though when you take a quest, and more importantly when you turn it in. Or the fact that I had an option of turning in this list of known bad guys to the Senate or something, or sell it to some broker in a Catina for extra credits.

You don't get that kind of option in another MMO. If you're getting burnt out, roll the other side to try out a different story. Worked for me anyways, got incredibly burnt out on Sith, rolled a Jedi and now am back in the full swing of SWTOR enjoyment. Never thought I would get into the Jedi side, but its actually a bit more fun to play a somewhat bad Jedi, than it is to play a somewhat good Sith.

Re: SWTOR .............

There's a lot of things that are really great about SW:TOR, and there's a lot of things that it's lacking for a game competing in the 2012 MMO market.

It is the same old MMO grind and god do you really start to notice that grind after you make more than an alt or two, and for someone who's a diehard altoholic that prefers solo questing over PvP and dungeon grinding, it's a little frustrating how linear the questing system is. While WoW is linear as well, you at least have some choice in where to go when you're leveling. Sick of Ghostlands? Go to Silverpine or The Barrens.

Most of SW:TOR's faults aren't necessarily game breakers for me, but I think my bf, myself, and a friend or two of ours are finding that perhaps we're either MMO burnt-out, or that SW:TOR might not be for us right now. I haven't logged into the game for like a week now, and that's after finally getting my bounty hunter to level 50. I knew there wouldn't be anything but an endless grind waiting for me at end game and I was dreading reaching it because I knew it would be like WoW's... And I'm very tired of WoW's end game.

Loaded up one of those little WoW free trial accounts, partially to kind of compare it to SW:TOR, and mostly because I was deeply pining for a hunter class as encompassing as WoW's. I love SW:TOR's loot system! From the giant pillar of light telling you whether it's standard loot, a needed quest item, green, blue, or purple, to the fact that you can loot all bodies within a radius around you, it's nice. Going back to WoW, the sparkles for loot felt really dull and I kept waiting for it to auto loot all the bodies around me.

I love how much more intuitive WoW's combat system is. I know Bioware's trying to fix the issues with theirs, but I still notice it from time to time when I'm in combat and it's incredibly frustrating. The lack of auto-attack I can live with, I used to play CoH heavily after all. For some reason swapping to WoW makes my eyes feel weird now, not sure if it's because it's more colorful or what. Also, I love that WoW allows you to seamlessly tab in and out of the game where SW:TOR gives you a loading screen. And god are there a lot of loading screens in SW:TOR.

I feel that they did their phasing system pretty flawlessly, and I know we can't just run from planet to planet, it wouldn't make sense. But is it really necessary to make me dock my ship at an orbital station, get an insanely long load screen, just to run a few meters to another ship and face another load screen to get down to the planet? After a planet or two it gets to be really stupid. I do like SW:TOR's PvP system better than WoW's though, at least for leveling. It's a lot harder to twink yourself out and everyone's levels/dmg/etc are all bumped up to ~50 status so that way even the lowest level of players can contribute; and believe me, if you have any idea what you're doing with your class at a low level, you can hold your own against much higher level players and contribute to killing them. I've done it on my baby sniper and it was awesome. For WoW, to succeed in low level PvP, you must be decked out with BoA gear and play one of a few classes, namely hunters.

Anyway, just wanted to mention some of the observations I've made between my like 3 years of WoW and couple of months of SW:TOR. What went from undying love of the game (probably because it was new and shiny) is evolving more and more into what I think might be MMO burn out. I can't even keep playing my free trial WoW account because I know what goes beyond level 20 (especially pets wise) and it makes me kind of sad to know that I can't have them as I don't really want to pay for my main account when I know I won't play the game significantly. I have no real desire at all to play MoP and my desire to keep logging into SW:TOR (and yes, I've played both Republic and Empire) is dwindling further. I'll probably give GW2 a try, but I might be done with MMOs for a little while.

Tyger, I think what you wrote is exactly what a lot of people are going through - MMO burnout. I think a lot of us have been playing them for so long that when the next one comes out, we hope that it'll reel us back in. But underneath all the new and shiny layers, it's still an MMO. You kill x amount of mobs, you run instances to get gear, then you get to end-game and raid. Unfortunately, that's how all MMOs are. I've actually gotten tired of MMOs several times in the past, and end up taking breaks from anywhere from a couple weeks to several months. It really does help me out.

There was a time I said I'd never play WoW again because just the thought of logging on made me want to vomit. But now, I can play it again (in small doses) and enjoy myself.

So my suggestion to anyone who has been playing MMOs of any title for any length of time is to take as long of a break as you need, and then re-evaluate how you feel and maybe get back into them slowly. :)

Good luck with whatever you decide to do!!!

Yup spot on right there! Alot of people don't seem to get that but that's the base of any MMO. They just try and hide that fact and people allways fall for it. We all have  I know I have!

Yep, I've turned off my SW:TOR account and I'm considering turning my WoW account back on just to derp around on my hunters for a little while. My man and I talked about it and we think we're going through MMO burn out. I'm not sure what he's planning on doing, but I know that I wouldn't mind playing around with all my shiny pets again.

And after coming to the realization of what MMOs are at their core (a *lot* of grinding), for me, I think it helps. :) It sorta makes me happy, in a way. I don't think they'll consume me the way they used to, which is a good thing.
