I do too, and yea im sure hes watching over me and making sure Janie behaves

Today i got to hand feed a new gecko thats at the zoo, i dont know her species but i have pictures, her markings resemble that of bird dropping as a defence mechanism in the wild. Shes from a pet store that my teacher/boss is good friends with who's agreed to have her breed with one of his gecko's and share the offspring. I dont know the species that she's gonna breed with (only gecko's i know there are the leapord ones, the rest i dont know the species names of) but i cant waaaait till they breed and offspring are made, im sure they'll be to-die-for adorable <3

Another awesome yet freaky thing that happened today.. we have a blue macaw at the zoo now as well, hes being babysat there for his owners. He was originally my teacher/boss' pet but he couldnt care for him as much as he required so he was adopted but the family is going away for a while so he's being taken care of at the zoo. I noticed his water was really low and i couldnt fit the jug's spout well enough through the bars so the water would flow into the dish rather then the bottom of the cage so, as freaked out as i am by parrots, i reluctantly opened the cage and stuck my hand in to grab the dish and Ziggy (the macaws name) climbed onto the cage door that was hanging ajar.

Totally panicking inside i tried to look confident so he didnt think i was scared and try to lunge at me and tear me up (he's quite vicious to a couple other volunteers, he actively attacks the cage in their direction when they walk by but he calmly coo's and gurgles when i walk by.. i think he doesnt like black hair. Both of them have black hair but i have red.) and im like, craap, i had absolutely no idea what to do.

I remembered that when he escaped once a pole was used to nudge him back in so i found one and tried to use it and he ran across the pole onto my arm. My arm. Like holy crap, my arm. He has enormous curled talons and this huge black beak and i know their power from researching hyacinth macaws for a project and unintentionally learning a lot about the larger breeds of macaws in general through my research and he was just sitting there, staring at me. On my arm. He then crawled onto my shoulder. Im totally freaking out but he's as calm as a cucumber, quietly cooing and gurgling.

Of course im the only one in the main room, only one volunteer who he HATES to death and boss/teacher was at the zoo but both were in different parts of the back of the zoo where its freezing cold so i couldnt go outside to find them lest Ziggy freak out and start biting me or batter me with his wings and i definitely knew that if he saw the volunteer he would start attacking and probably lash out at me in the process.. so i kinda just sat there and held onto his big stick inside the cage in hopes he'd walk off my arm and back into the cage and waited..

He kept dipping his head gently and i eventually tried to pet him which was apparently all he wanted from me and was trying to tell me that by dipping his head and it was really really awesome. He was like a really scary yet totally puppy personality bundle of feathers. He just wanted some love. It took about 10-15min from between him crawling from my arm to my shoulder to finally getting him to enter the cage with some incentive via a shelled peanut but i finally did get him in there and got the door closed. It was really bizzare, really scary, and totally awesome. Its really weird how parrots which scare the crap outta me seem to love me the most.

Shakespeare the Sun Conure was the first parrot since getting my finger mangled many years ago ive ever interacted with and i had a similar experience with him. But the scare factor with a blue macaw compared to the ity bity Sun Conure is like a huge void. But they're definitely doing a great job at winning back my affection for exotic birds <3

Dead tired. Didn't get home til 3:30 (well.. okay, got to my parking lot at 3am... didn't get INSIDE til 3:30), bed at 4am, woke up at 8 (I normally DO NOT function without at least 8 hours sleep)... But I couldn't care less. It was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO totally worth it, and I haven't felt this good, and this happy, and this relaxed in a REALLY long time.

Also... I'm really thankful for my long hair today...

Packed most of my clothes last night. Concert is tomorrow. OMGOMGOMG! Then on Monday, the long, 8 hour drive up to the cottage! I can't wait. To top it off, he wants to come over today :D I need to clean first, because if I don't get everything done first... Judging from Friday night, absolutely nothing WILL get done. Woke up though and realized my room isn't as bad as I thought once all the dishes were gathered, so YAY! :D

Birthday today. After a very rough day at work (a fight broke out and saw someone get fired because of it), my boyfriend surprised me with a gift certificate for an hour long massage and spa treatment. I've never been to a spa and I'm not the type of person to go to one, so I'm nervous but I'm excited. I need a massage so bad. My back cracks like my grandma's. <.<

Then we had cake.

It was delicious cake.

heeee so cute <3

Ive been dying of laughter for a new minutes now, i was loading up the computer and doing odd bits here and there in my room and i hear this BANG! BANG BANG CRUNCH CRUNCH BANG CRUNCH and im like WTF o_O, so i look over to the main suspect, my rat Tamika, and she's chewing the hell out of the icecube i put in her water. She grabbed the icecube and dragged it out of her water dish which caused the first bang, then the string of bangs as it went down the ramp, and then the crunching and banging of her going ape shit crazy chewing the hell out of it. It was HILARIOUS like holy crap ive never seen her so feisty before, and its a flippin icecube XD I put that in her water to keep it cold cause my room is now genuinly warm today and i didnt want to have to keep changing it through the day to keep it cold.

'Course now i think she has a brain freeze which is why she's running as fast as she can physically go with the wheel we have for her inside her cage but hooomg it was so awesome. Soooo funny. XD And i caught Janie on camera draggong her teddy bear all over the house. She drags it by the hear, leg, side, or crotch and will run around, plop on the ground, and bite him to death, then pick him up and take him elsewhere and repeat. She also cries to him. She'll completely ignore me when i try to talk to her when she's whining with him in her deathgrip so im not so sure she's announcing her kill rather then she's talking to him XD Tho this morning she dragged him onto the bed by my face, mewed a few times, nuzzled me, then grabbed the bear and split into the hallway XD

Aaw, hearing stories of about your furry little friends always cheers me up, no matter what! I love hearing about them, and I can totally imagine the ice cube thing. And dragging teddy around. My own kitty was very cuddly today, and when I went outside to take a phone to my bank, who cancelled my insurance because I have ADD (sucky reasoning, I know), I sat down on one of the chairs outside. She immediately jumped up on my lap, started to walk around herself, stand up on her hind legs and nuzzle my face, meow to me (she's not a very talkative cat), and even nibble my chin. I surely hope she isn't in heat, but she was adorable. She eventually laid down and curled up into a ball. And then she stood up again and kneaded her paws on me, and laid down again.

Haha so cute!

My male cat has taken to kidnapping various plushies of mine (hey a 24 year old woman can like plushies, thank you)..and taking them around the house..and HUMPING them.. he'd do it all day and the best part is...he makes eye contact with me while he humps the plushies. Gah..so strange but omg cute at the same time. Poor guy's been fixed, but it's hilarious how he seems to still have..sexual frustrations.. xD

Loolol XD Its hilarious when Janie grabs the bears crotch and runs down the hall, plops him on the ground, and then starts biting wildly, kicking her legs at his poor head to boot. He has a string of stuffing coming out the top of his head now lol.

I went to the zoo today for class, it was more like *walk in, pet the macaw, have teacher look over my essay and wolf exhibit drawings, take study papers, go home* cause he was having interviewers come in that day and i didnt want to stay there all day but what was really awesome is that Ziggy the blue macaw i was totally freaking out about acts nothing more then a harmless puppy to me XD

He coo'd and gurgled when i hung around by his cage and brushed up against the bars and i got to gie him a back scratch, a neck scratch on the back of his neck, the sides, and also under his beak, as well as his forhead and under his wings. He absolutely looooved it, if he could purr, he would of been going like a motor, his eyes were always half closed when i was petting him it was awesome XD What was hilarious too is that it totally dumbfounded one of the volunteers who didnt know i partially worked and also studied there, their reaction was priceless.
